@@CascadeBackcountry It gave you time to gear up i see. Your starting to look like a real hunter out there.😁 Though in all seriousness being up in the cascades, you do need to be in good gear to handle what the mountains can throw at you. I cant do that type of hunting anymore, ( disabled )but i know the mountains are no place to be in cheap, or inferior gear. Ive been in bad situations even to the poimt of having to make a snow cave to make it thru a storm. It was one of those ohh im just going to go out for a few hours ill be fine dont need blah, blah gear. Learned a lesson that day many years ago to not fool around in the mountains. Maybe do a gear dump of what you had in the video for content, without the risk of dying...lol. Ok bad joke. Well good to have you back in the world of youtube.

Love when your videos drop. As a Washington native the grew up in the Puyallup area and went out hiking and camping, but is currently living in a city abroad. Watching you do all the things I miss doing really helps keep the home sickness down

You're always just ahead of me. Heading out this weekend to do the same. I get a bit twitchy too if i haven't been in the woods in a while. You make the North Cascades look so great. I need to get off the peninsula and check it out. Thanks for the inspiration.

Been looking for a new video, thanks, and a nice surprise bobcat calling. That is one of my favorite things to do and trapping them as well. Did you try calling near that deer carcass?
@CascadeBackcountry
@CascadeBackcountry Год назад
Thanks! Yeah I didn't know it but my call was only about 300 feet from that deer carcas. I thought he went down that draw but he was up on the hill to my left. Mighta been looking at right me and I wouldn't have known it. Going back next week to see if I can find him :)

@@CascadeBackcountry Usually when I cut a fresh cat track, I try and do a set as soon as possible. Hoping it doesn't see or hear me first if no cat shows up on the first set, then I will push on and track again.

Man thats awesome that the adventure wife is so supportive! Mine is usually pretty good if I'm out less than a day, but any overnights leads to a few comments or more. I should have gone on a lot more trips early on to get her used to it, ha. By the way pretty nice setup you had there, is it a regular .223 or something different? You carried that thing unslung like you were in a war; sure fire way to not see anything, next time sling that puppy up and you'll see lots of game your not ready in time to shoot at, ha ha.
@CascadeBackcountry
@CascadeBackcountry Год назад
Yeah the adventure wife I'd pretty cool about me going out. Not 24/7... but usually haha It's a 556. Basically a 223. I carried that way just in case I jumped a cat... gotta be ready! Haha
