The full video for this trip is on the editing pile, I just felt like this rare and beautiful event needed a lil video all of its own.. what an experience this was 💚💙💜 thanks for being here Wild Ones! I'm gonna get back to my usual editing now :)
Hehe, I can imagine being totally unprepared for that made it a bit of a trip in it self😂 -I got a message from a friend who's into space telling me it was going down. So I was fully geared with cameras and ready when it hit😊
Honestly, Claire, I can't think of a finer person to receive the " gift" of being out on that hill to see the aurora. As a nature lover and a fine cinematographer, you were able to do justice to the filming of it all. I await the full trip video with interest.
Oh!!! You didn't know about the solar storm!!! I'm so happy you got to see them! It's so magical isn't it! I'm 74... I've only ever seen them once in my life. I missed this one because I had clouds but really, bloody happy that you, young one, now have a beautiful memory like I have carried.
Thank you for sharing that with us. We saw them here in Savannah, Georgia, much further south than you. However they were nowhere near as stunning as what you captured. Beautiful video, Claire. Thank you. ✌🏽
What an eloquent and poetic reflection on the event Claire! You achieved something special - you did it justice. Thank you for being there, for being the right person to be there. Wonderful footage.
Your face looked like I imagine our ancestors looked when something strange and mysterious happened in the sky. What an awesome experience to have had.
OMG Claire, such a lucky lady to capture this, in all its glory, truly a lifetime experience not to be forgotten, thank you for sharing this phenomenon with us. 😊
Quite simply, one of the best videos on RU-vid. I can't explain why i believe that. Its just the way i feel. The innocent joy you show towards this beautiful event is a truly marvelous moment.
Just think, there's not another video on earth that captured the northern lights from your perspective that night! What a treasure for sure! Thanks for the breathtaking views! Keep up the great work!
‘To feel, to care, sometimes too much’ - this was the sense I got watching the lights on a beach not far from where you were. It was completely overwhelming and in a weird way seemed to amplify my feelings about some of the awful things happening in the world. It was however unbelievably beautiful and an emotional experience to see something so rare and incredible on my doorstep. I can’t imagine how intense that was for you alone and unaware of what was happening.
Thank you for sharing this with us. I'm 72 and this video with your commentary was so beautiful it made me cry tears of joy, you are a very caring person and I love all your videos.
Here in Central Norway, the Northern Lights are not uncommon, but every now and then, we are treated to a spectacular show that just leaves you in awe! This looks like one of those, and you are blessed to have seen it. Nice video as always!
So cool that you captured it! It's always a gift when the Aurora Borealis appear, I also captured this event where I live but it always appears to be the green hue, I guess it's geological location. I have never seen pink and purple WOW! beautiful!
Sometimes I think if you were trying to make a magical world, you couldn't do much better than snow and cherry blossoms and rainbows and the northern lights.
Clair, it was the universe that was in perfect sync, because your trip took place during the exact period of one of the strongest solar eruptions ever recorded. A record amount of solar mass was expelled and was directed exactly toward our planet Earth. Our planet resisted and you witnessed a so unique event in the history of Earth. I thank you immensely and my eyes filled with water looking at your photos and video. I live in a city located on the Tropic of Capricorn and we were not lucky enough to witness this event. From this Brazilian follower, I wish that God continues to bless you and take care that you always return safely to your family. Stay safe, happy, and enlightened with the blessings of the universe and God. Thank you very, very much for sharing this special moment.
In all of my 69 years, I have never seen such amazing photography work of the Northern Light! You did an amazing job of it! I'm glad you got to experience it. Thank you for sharing it with us!
Of the hundreds of vids of the auroras, this vid gave me goose bumps. What a lucky coincidence that you were out on that night and had spectacularly clear skies and your high quality recording.
Wow, that was utterly breathtaking Claire! 😍 Fate certainly did conspire to put you in the perfect place at the perfect time to witness such a magical act of nature! And of course you did absolutely amazing at capturing it! Thank you for sharing this awe-inspiring experience with us all! May you have a wonderful week my dear friend! 😊 Stay wild.... 🐻 -John
wow the best footage i have seen of the event , i have wanted to see them all my life and still missed this due to cloud , so thank you Claire you deserve the privilege of such a viewpoint
It was so lovely to see your awe & wonder as you watched this, it made think about what our ancient ancestors must have felt...! Watching this has made me feel better about snoring my way through the whole event, no one thought to mention it..! It was just beautiful, thank you... X
Wow, as a kid in Edmonton we would lay out on the lawn and watch the lights. Some spectacular shows, but I think that topped them all. Something so beautiful, and a little bit scary at the same time, it really puts things in perspective. We're at the mercy of this universe. The more we learn about it, the more there is to learn. It provides for us and even entertains us. Thanks for this. We're lucky.
You were so blessed to see this and then be able to share with us 🙏 ✨️ 💕 i totally get how you may have felt on your own, with no one to talk to about it. Thanks Claire Bear 🐻 xx
Experienced the Northern Lights in the Scottish highlands Friday night also. I’d never seen anything like it before either, the whole sky was illuminated with blends of reds, purples, greens and moved so quickly like a cosmic waterfall. Just stood for ages staring up at the night sky, and watching the changing shapes. It was so bright, even the ground was reflecting all the colours. Your video really does do it justice, and i’m glad you posted it for a permanent memory of nature’s beauty. Thank you for sharing.
I was on Isle of Skye Friday night and it felt like I was standing right below the Aurora "dome"(?) that is visible in the video. Breathtaking. Was my first time in Scotland too
@@otherworldly1034 it is called the corona. It means you are precisely under it. At some point here in The Netherlands you had to look to the south to see them! ANd that was surely also the case in Scotland and Wales.
Beautiful to watch that. You could see you were shocked, stunned by it, the brain trying to process something that doesn't seem normal or possible. No wonder you stayed up until 3am watching it. That's one memory you'll never forget, thank you for sharing it. Beautiful footage ❤
@WildBeare Something great about you is you reply to people and you reply pretty quickly. That must be difficult because you have many and it must be crazy, you reach a point Shut up now, I need my wine. Other big channels all seem to wait for about 2 days before replying 🤦🏻😁 You have way more messages. I've seen it with smaller channels like mine, the ones smaller think that's how I need to do it. No you don't you 5 comments to say thank you to😁 I need no reply, honestly, you already have and than you. I would just watch before and not comment. You are a good un. Never change😉👋💛
Glad you got to see the aurora. I was up in the Pennines at Wolf Stones but it all clouded up so saw nothing. Still a good night out in the wild though.
The solar eclipse, extreme solar flair aurora borealis, are somethings that feels like it wakes up the inner connection within us that we have with mother Earth, and just makes us wanna live in that moment for as long as possible, I understand how you felt, when you said just watching the footage and it made you cry, being blessed by nature is very moving.
I've said before your videos have a feel good factor, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Your closing statement in the video though... that said everything. Thank you for sharing this 🙂
Something i have wanted this lifetime so far to see - i am thankful someone so unique as yourself was gifted with this sight. All the more magical in that you had not sought or expected it. Thank you for sharing it with us -
I just moved from Wales to the US a few weeks ago, seeing the northern lights are top of my bucket list, I'm so so sad I moved right before we got them in the UK. Thanks for sharing the beautiful footage of them!
The recent (and significant) solar storm made the northern lights and the southern hemisphere equivalents something extraordinary this time round. They were visible from most parts of the world. Many of us might not see the likes of these again. May I come and sit with you, on your hill, next time round? 😇 😃 Here in the southern hemisphere (Australia) we had our own version - they call it Aurora Australis - it was equally magnificent and I had the pleasure of observing from a remote and isolated place on top of a hill too. Just magnificent.
The USA is in general much better to watch them then Europe. The geomagentical pole is not situated at the north pole. If you live north of 40 degrees in the USA you are in a better position than we in Europe at 50 degrees. People in states like Minnesota, Montana and North Dakota see these displays I think at least once or twice per year.
Hi Claire, I just wanted to say thank you for your fantastic videos, you do not know me but I am ex-army and did a lot of things in my time in the forces especially along the lines of outdoor pursuits and so on. I love nature and being out in extremes and had the fortunate opportunity to travel the world putting skills into practice in different environments. But shortly after leaving the forces I became unwell both physically and mentally. I also suffered a stroke around 4 years ago which has left me damaged and with limited capabilities which include walking. I am now classed as disabled and for a long time I beat myself up as when I attempted to do things, I compared myself how I used to be and gave up doing stuff. Leading to more depression and low self-esteem. However, things have now changed now for me and I see the positive in things (as you say it’s only a plan that changes and that isn’t a fail and positivity can be found by just being out there) I am now reliving my passion by adapting, and that is with thanks to yourself and others. I hope you do not mind but I created my own channel and did a video of which I have used a few clips of you from your videos to promote you and for others to see where I got my inspiration from and my channel is based on being outdoors, camping and so on while living with limitations, so I hope you do not mind me doing this and should it be a problem please let me know and of course I will respect your wishes. My channel if you wish to watch the video is at ru-vid.com/show-UCnvGYskLr2oOWBA06ggbKlQ and so far, the only video on my channel but I have plans to make a lot more. As you see I am an amateur when it comes to producing videos LOL but I will learn over time. Thank you for inspiring me through your channel and please keep up the fantastic work.
Of the people I can think of, I think you really deserve to have been able to witness this event. You have inspired me so much by being outdoor in even the wildest conditions and still coming over so positiv. Thank you for this and all your other outdoor videos, allowing us to take part in all this, even if we might never be able to experience some of this ourselves in real life. Thank you!
I wasn’t expecting it - I just went out to lock the garage before going to bed, saw an unusual whitish glow so got my phone to take a picture, and wow! I saw what you saw. So beautiful. I thought of Psalm 19 "The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork." 😊
That was my experience of seeing the northern lights here in the Scottish Borders last year too. I'd heard and seen footage that the sky turns green and purple etc but all we saw with the naked eye was gradually moving vertical curtains of what looked like misty cloud. People put wonderful colourful pictures on the local facebook page of that night and I read that not everyone sees the colours without looking through a much more sensitive camera lens that brings out the colours. I didn't bother looking out on Saturday night but a lad told us on Sunday morning that he saw faint colours in the sky from his remote hillside home.
Many of us were forewarned and prepared, but still amazed and mesmerized. We had stupendous views in mid Ontario. That this was a surprise for you adds a whole new element. Thanks for sharing!
So, that was your reward for all the walks and effort you made, with ups and downs, endless rains, storms, cold and challenges you survived. Then, suddenly, after a long day, the sky is presenting you the most wonderful show you can imagine. How many people will be jealous seeeing this? Well, who cares, you were there, and luckily we enjoy it al bit later as well! Good for you! Keep the memory very close near you, as the whitness of a miracle.
Wow, I love this video. The solar flares & Aurora was so amazing!! I live in FL, USA and we didn't get to see any of it, although not knowing it was going to happen would be a little unnerving. And, all the blue bells on your hike were lovely. I think this is best video you made , that I've seen. Have a great day!
Magical. Loved the music too and found the whole thing quite emotional. I also loved the as-it-happened commentary - if I'd seen this display I would have been quite spooked as well as entranced so I could imagine what you were going through! Beautiful.
Thanks for sharing this and your comments. It was visible here in Australia for some but in Sydney we had overcast skies and rain during the event so have relied on the wonderful images provided and shared by others. Thanks again for all your work and how you share the simplicity and awe of the outdoors to keep us connected with our shared experience and reminder that we need to care for this delicate existence.
WOW! Fortune smiled on you. Right Place, Right Time. A dark sky and a superb light show. And you got in on video! so we could see it too. I think you were treated to the best one. I have looked at some of the news coverage none of it looked as good.
Ita kinda amazing that you experienced this in the way humans would have for generations before technology... Unknowingly, ignorantly blissful to a real wonder of the universe. Theres magic in that ♥️
Brilliant video, in every sense, Claire! This must be an all-time classic recording of an aurora, I've never seen a better video. And from fairly far south, too. My app alerted me last weekend that aurora were likely and I went outside to look many times but saw nothing. Now your video has more than made up for my missing it. Thank you!
Northern lights are a regular occurrence where I live. Sometimes it's strong, vivid, green, purple and pink, other times it's just a pale, green haze. Sometimes it shifts fast across the sky, like a snake or like it's coming down like swords to poke you, lighting up the world, and sometimes it's docile, just twinkling a bit. Either way, it still brings tears to my eyes! I don't think you ever can be indifferent to it! You get reminded of how small you are, and how magnificently magical the world is! 💖
I love watching your adventures long time quiet follower…. Your words in this video are some of the most profound I have heard in a long time u are a cherished soul never change!
What a magical, unexpected moment. It's like beautiful colours painted on the sky, an art display. Pity you were half thinking it might be the apocalypse. I can totally see how it might have been a bit unsettling in the absence of information or communications.
Hi Claire. I’m an expat living in Sydney and saw all the posts from everyone back home about this. Looks like you got ringside seats ! No better place to be than in the hills away from light pollution. I’m pretty jealous but so happy you managed to get such great images and thank you for sharing them with us. Does make you question the powers of the sun and shows that we are just tiny specs observing such phenomena.
What an amazing experience being able to experience the fear and awe in the same way our ancestors might have felt when seeing something like this and not having any way of knowing what was going on. So glad you were filming that day and set up where you did. The shots you captured are magnificent!
You were in a perfect spot to witness such a fantastic aurora. It might have been a once in a lifetime experience. I'm 61 and have never seen such a strong aurora before the one that night. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Fate guided you to a front row light show courtesy of Mother Nature. 🥹 I got choked up, Claire. So breathtaking. There was too much light pollution here to catch it, but by God, you caught it right by the tail. Thank you so much for this remarkable footage. ❤️
I think all who saw it will be forever touched, I watched it here in Australia though we call it a Southern Aurora. It was a beautiful sight and im glad it was shared with people from around the world.
You’ve set the bar very high for your future videos, Claire! That was breath taking and thank you so much for sharing it with us. I don’t think you ended up at that site by chance. You were led there so that your photographic, editing and oratory skills could bring something truly beautiful to us. In a troubled world, your videos show us the beauty that still exists. You are one very talented and inspirational woman. Keep safe on your adventures.
......an incredible moment for you. Experienced on your own not understanding why must have been mind blowing. Thank you for sharing that remarkable footage with us all.😎☯️🌱
