Welcome to Delhi! This is my first video in my new India series where I am spending two weeks travelling the north of India with TruTravels however I have a few days either side of the tour to explore Delhi solo so I got a real sense of what it is like to travel India as a solo female traveller.
I show my first impressions of Connaught Place and have a street food tour in Old Delhi (coming soon). When the tour started, we had a Delhi walking tour with Salaam Baalak Trust and then visited Mahatma Ghandi's cremation site as well as the India Gate.

Super video; it feels nice listening to you. I read some comments, and many times people advise you to not travel alone and to be careful. 😅 I never travel alone far from the city where I'm staying in India. My Indian family talked too much about it, and in the beginning, they even didn't allow me to go shopping or park alone. I am an explorer, so that felt very hard for me. There is also a family from Delhi only, and they are very careful about their children, so they almost never stay alone. I walked alone in Delhi, and I felt fine, but surely we can't consider it a safe place after hearing the stories. Be careful, and good luck.🙃😊

You should avoid these regions of India: Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. These regions in India have a cultural problem. Why I am saying this is because I analyzed songs in the 15 million to 30 million views category and I found this: 1) Thaikkudam Bridge, Fish Rock (Kerala) 2) Uglyz, Timro Nyano (Nepal) 3) KD and MD, Karni Padi Badmashi (Haryana) 4) Neeche Wala Rate Mahangaa Baa (Bihar) This shows that Nepal is much more evolved than these regions of India and Kerala is a highly evolved state. Another thing is that if you are seeing Indian cinema you will watch Bollywood, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati and Bengali cinema. You will not watch Haryanavi or Bhojpuri films. Noida is a very clean, green and great place with fancy malls. However, in the malls there will be some 19 year old kids, they will see a 25 year old girl and crack silly jokes on her body parts. Then they will go to the bathroom and think about her. This is a problem with these regions of India.

In general, the south of India is safer for a single woman though I would still not travel alone after sunset. Be safe and enjoy your travels.

As an Indian ,I can say that India is not that much perfect for foreign travelers .... There are still a huge portion of people are there who have no sense of moral behaviour and how to treat Non-indians as well as their fellow Indians.

Anna,let me be candid with you, India is not a safe country for white women. But there is a place called lansdowne in uttarakhand which is pretty safe ,serene .I recommend you tovisit our place u will enjoy it.Hope u will reply. Thank You

Why every tourist visits delhi first, i too live in delhi, but Delhi is not a tourist place its polluted , over crowded and also not safest at night etc. Visit anywhere except delhi there are many place in north other than that himachal, jaipur, udaipur, Gujarat . I don't know why everyone visits delhi and starts talk shit about India.

It’s not really clickbait - as a solo female traveller India is an intimidating country and many women want to know the experiences of other women travelling in India. I answer the question, I felt safe, but I was glad I had a local tour guide.

@AnnaJoan I m sorry for my comment but in recent time their are many foreign vloggers who keep spreading fake propoganda and trying to build false narrative for some views. Crime are everywhere in this world, India is no exception, it has 1.5 billion people. We Indian are not used to many foreigners that's why we don't know how to react towards them, Many of us trying to get pictures, sometimes staring as well but in a curious way 'how you guys look like' bcz of our colonial mindset.
