Willie Weeks is one of the Greatest Ever. The Heavens Were Perfectly Aligned when Donny Hathaway got that incredible Crew together. I remember reading about Weeks' solo in Bass Magazine. Hearing it for the first time back in the was a Mindblower, still is.

This is great stuff, thanks, I have been playing at jam sessions for about six months and I can get in a groove with the drummer. Now I need to develop vocabulary, for licks I can play, and this gives me loads. Much appreciated, I will be rewinding and transcribing for weeks, you have shared some that I can’t wait to play in the moment.

Everything Is Everything is my favourite bass solo of all time. It's the most musical AND technically advanced thing I've listened to (most bass solos are one OR the other) and, like Joe Dart's bass breaks, you can enjoy it even if you're not a bass player! Totally agree with all you say.

Dan, I've been enjoying your videos -- great info, no filler. I don't know if this is the only video mentioning your bass courses, but I just noticed it this time. What I'm saying is: this video just made a sale for your funk bass course. I look forward to less suck, more funk.

Hi Dan, great video. Really like the way you explain different concepts and what techniques, scales and feel goes into each part. In the same vain as this video would you think about breaking down Glenn Hughes bass solos and fills? Really like some of his Dead Daisies and California Breed stuff. Cheers.

Love your videos, I’m thinking of getting your funk course soon. You’re the only teacher I’ve found that has a course on only funk. I haven’t been playing long, but funk keeps me motivated. May I ask, what action do you have on your bass? It looks low, like around 1 inch on the 12th?

Thanks! I don’t know exactly and it’s different on different basses… vague I know but it’s a kind of medium action in general. I’ll do a video about it one day…
