Corp: didn’t get to watch till Monday morning but as always another great vid. You’re absolutely right, it is about the “reality of survival”. I’m responsible for myself but also my wife as well. We’re both 65, still getting up at 430a to go to work. Keep spreading that message-“stop whining start doing”! GOD bless you Shawn. See you in the midweek.
Being a disabled gulf War veteran I can't understand how anyone could be offended by you trying to stay in shape you should do everything you can while you can because one day you might not be able to.
Staying in shape and staying healthy are two different things. I have always strived to stay healthy over staying in shape, and in the process manage to stay in good shape. I don't exercise but live an active life with plenty of physical challenges. I have also had friends who were into weight lifting and running, a couple died from heart attacks so you figure it. Exercise does not control your health. I am 74 and enjoy the health of someone thirty years younger
What I really enjoy about the multi video builds is seeing the evolution of the idea. Watching it expand and grow as new ideas come to mind and the implementation of them. Thanks for the inspiration you bring to this genre of video, Corp.
Dont forget your fresh air vent. You want to make sure the fire doesn't use all your air especially if you put a door on. Great videos. Enjoy your channel.
From Corporal to Corporal, I follow you for about five years now and the quality of your videos and all your advice is outstanding. Intead of being offended, people should be thankfull, for the great work you're sharing every week for years now. There are few, that are this motivated like you. So thank you over and over again for your great work. If somebody is offended, it seems to be the wrong channel for you. My opinion. Wish you best of luck. Semper talis from Germany.
Thanks again Shaun again for great content. My free advice is don't worry about the offended. There's always been people looking for reasons to be offended. So what the rest of us are grateful for the instruction and inspiration. Thanks
Sunday Funday at Corporals Corner. My God Mr,Kelly, everyone should be very impressed with the work you do. The way you get the walls so straight is awesome!! Keep up the great work 👍
I like the rocket stove, gives off a natural/native vibe. Only thing id consider is looking into a chimney topper to keep rain from falling down the pipe and making a muddy mess in the burn chamber
Your content is inspirational not offensive! At one point I was 265lbs, had to catch my breath walking upstairs in my own house. I started watching your videos 5 years ago and realized if I ever wanted to do half of what I would like to do outdoors something would have to change. It's been a process but I'm on my way to being healthier and more capable. I didn't want to become a type 2 diabetic sitting on my back porch wishing I could do things in the woods. If you're offended watching content like this and someone being motivational, I would say, maybe take a look at what is going on in your life to make you feel that way. Semper Fi
Love the music addition to the build montage! Also, this job/hobby is keeping you young bro. Side note: I’m reading “my side of the mountain” to my 7YO. This project reminds me so much of that book. Looking forward to what you do next. I’m learning a lot.
You walk the walk. There is no talk for you. You're showing it. You are absolutely as far up there as Canterbury in my book, which is about as good as it gets. Always working on getting better, always sharing how you're getting there. I'll cover beers if I ever see you irl
That bunker is looking fantastic. The fireplace, when finished, will be the coup de gras on that build. Three videos a week?!? Damn, brother, don't you have enough on your plate already? In any case, you make 'em, I watch 'em. Thank you for your time and effort. Semper Fi!
Keep doing what you're doing Corp I have a badass liver disease and I'm overweight and channels like yours have helped inspire me to get healthier be more active and get up get out and get something Keep up all the hard work 💪
Brilliant, thanks for sharing an outstanding A.F video. Loving the way it's turning out. Don't ever apologise for what you do. If people don't like what you do...its cos they're jealous.
Working out is key. I’m 54, I enjoy 20 minutes of pull ups, push ups, dips and a multitude of other work outs. You need it for hiking and overall survival. You’re no asset to anyone in the Wild or anywhere if you’re the one that’s dead weight. If you’re ready, you’ll never have to get ready. Keep up the work outs corp.
Corporal Kelly, as an 82 year old Old Schooler, I appreciate your featuring Old Schhol gear, which was common in my younger years; & your encouragement to stay physically fit, regardless of age. Although I am in better condition healthwise than many others my age, I need to be challenged & encouraged to do better, especially with my walking. I am also enjoying each new episode as you progress with your underground shelter. You are approaching fulfillment of my unfulfilled dream, as a teenager, of a perfect underground "Hide-Out!" Not only do I appreciate your service to our country, I am most grateful for your willingness to share your Woods Wisdom & military training with your viewers. Interestingly, as communicators, we share something in common: there are thin-skinned folks WHO GET OFFENDED WHEN THEY ARE TOLD THE TRUTH & CONFRONTED WITH REALITY! Your channel ranks among my favorites! Thank you, Sir, & may God bless you! The Old Preacher
Hey Shawn, the underground hut turned out great. Outstanding build. I can’t wait till winter to see how the fireplace works and how warm it gets inside. That was a lot of work and I appreciate your efforts…thank you!
I went camping and tried your Chilli Mac. Pretty nice. I raise you though! My favourite is an pasta Alfredo/carbonara type packet, anything pasta and creamy, and near the end as it’s thickening chop (or rip) up some beef jerky and add. It rehydrates the meat a bit and is delicious. I still eat it on a hiking stove when glamping although I we have bbq access… few shakes of Tabasco Corps special.
Cpl. Kelly, Outstanding Video AF, You are the Hardest Working Instructor on RU-vid. All Your videos provide Outstanding Information that can be used in the real world No BS . Also Thank You for your time in service and keeping Us Safe. Tim L.
Listen, you are awesome, I love your ideas and your tutorials are fabulous and we learn a lot from you, keep doing what you doing, you will get a "like" from me, I'm a Vietnam veteran woman. God bless you always.
Great video Corporal hopefully there are viewers young enough to learn what your teaching that will be able to use it when the SHTF ive been teaching my grandson wilderness and survival like my grandfather taught me, we need more people out there to teach these things so when its needed (not if but when) then they have a better chance to live
Some people have nothing better to do than to try and tear other people down. I've been watching your channel for quite some time now and I've never commented, but enough is enough 😡 I love watching your channel! Just because I can't do it doesn't mean I get to rip into you... Keep doin what you're doin!!
“Those who have invested the least into you are the loudest critics of you. The loudest boos always come from the cheapest seats.” I’ve learned a lot from your videos Shawn. Appreciate your effort and commitment for sure! 💪🏻
I like how you think about staying able to go out and get in the woods and make it back out , like how you’re build is going with the dugout is coming along keep up with what you are doing I keep watching your videos thank you.
I love how you troubleshoot and show the process of your creations! You are an inspiration, Corporal!!! Don’t pay any attention to the dingleberries who are trying to be negative…they are completely ridiculous. Looking forward to even more Corporal’s Corner….lovin’ every minute of it, Baby! 😁🏕🪵
I can only imagine the sense of achievement in seeing your vision come to life and being able to say you did that. Awesome video brother you got a new subscriber.
Honestly, you have some of the coolest and original shelter builds on the internet. It's your creativity and dedication that make your builds so much fun to watch. Thanks for a great presentation.
If you find an old, metal, pail... It would be smart to take it out there and keep it next to your chimney. That way, when you leave it, you can place the pail over the chimney to keep rain or snow out of it. Just a thought, brother.
My suggestion if I may. I actually bought your tarp with the heat reflector a couple months ago for this exact build. I was going to find a way to attach it to the ceiling inside the bunker to help the heat reflect off there for cold winters. Just a suggestion
Three months later, I think this build is even more impressive. After a fairly short period of time you’d have to be right on it to find this build to see it.
Hello Corporal, i really like your channel and your way of doing things. No need to explain to crybabies that you are who you are etc. the motives of the channel and the way you do things. You are natural, talk very competitive language and and straightforward, without plastic bullshit people selling these days on yt and other social media acting like monkeys. Continue your channel as it is and keep up good work, thank you for inspiring me to start bushcrafting myself - i am beginnier. Greetings from Poland and alot health!
You, sir, are an inspiration. You are doing. You are completing the task. Your patterns have words, actions and patterns have been consistent. Forever forward.
I enjoy your videos. Shawn, your biggest problem is you try to please all of the people all of the time. We all know that's impossible. Keep on doing what you do. It works! Thanks for the informative content.
The man does more in a few hours with an entrenching tool than most do in a week. Nothing but mad respect for the Corporal, despite the bashers, naysayers and those crosseyed individuals that claim he committed career suicide. Nobody knows what Kelly is doing better than Kelly. Period.
I agree, Corp. I'm not fighting fit anymore for medical reasons. but I've got grit. and thanks to you, my bag is pretty light nowadays. lol. you rock, bro. keep doing what you're doing. edit: I actually go out and use and practice with my gear. I also keep myself " expert badge " sharp marksmanship wise. 😉
You work so hard! I appreciate all of your efforts. I’m a senior lady and could not hope to anything like the things you accomplish. I do want to learn knots, tools, and some skills to make me safer and more self sufficient. Thank you for all you do. thank you for your service . Take care
That is bad ass AF!! Hopefully a winter time and maybe rainy overnight in that bad boy. Can you imagine being lost in the woods freezing your butt off and came across that!
when u bring in the tools to chisel out the oven to the size u want, since the ground is so compact and solid, perhaps u could chisel out some "deep shelves" storage cubbies so that u can store some gear semi-permanently inside the hideout, maybe a drywood stash for fires, or just some canned goods or something, just to make it so that u dont have to hump out ALL the gear u need each time just in case u get stranded in the snow or something, OR u could then do a solo weekend (48 hrs) in the snow.
That shelter is developing cool AF. If I dug that (if I could) on my property I'd have a pile of rocks big enough to start a quarry. The Corp is the hardest working You tuber I watch. Enjoy all the videos including mid weekend immensely and hope that the 3 video per week format works out. I'd get in that hide after a nice snow and chill for a whole weekend while trying not to wonder or worry about what wonderful developments our world will throw at us in the coming days.
Love the way the Underground Hideaway turned out. Great AF. Was waiting for the fireplace. Glad you broke through this week. This will be great this winter. Great job!! Keep doing what you are doing don't worry about the haters, your doing great. Thanks for all you do.
Good one Corporal! This video showed up on my feed, first time viewer and new sub. I have an underground shelter I'm working on at the moment as well. It's 8' long, 5' wide and 6' deep. Now I'm adding a small tunnel that steps down two feet from the floor of the shelter and probably going back about 8 feet or so. Stay alert, stay alive brother!
@@SteffenBoserup I live in the Chihuahuan Desert on the border of Tx and Mx, so we usually don't see too much rain. This Fall we've seen more rain and cooler temps than normal, as a matter of fact, it rained last night. The "bunker" stays dry with the exception of the first step of the entrance.
