Afternoon Cpl, I love the build this time around! Have you considered long form "silent" videos. I don't know how well they would perform monetarily, but I know a lot of people put them on as a way to wind down at the end of the day and hence get a high ratio of watch time.
What makes you better Shawn than all your competitors in RU-vid is you don't merely "survive" it you smooth it. You are the "This Old House" of the outdoors. Keep up the good work.
Weird. Wouldn’t let me make a comment. I had to exit out and come back to make my comment. I couldn’t imagine NOT having a mid-week and a Sunday video from you. Thank sir. I appreciate everything you do.
Mornin' Shawn. I'm enjoying the mud house/shelter. ALL of us who follow you, appreciate your hard work! Love the mid-week vidz as well. AND, once again, THANKS for your service to OUR country!
Hello from Oklahoma! Good Video! The old river rat here. I'm 63. It's amazing how people's attention span has been affected by the cell phone and instant gratification society. I don't know of too many people your age that take time at the end of the day to sit or lay quietly and reflect on their day and or think of solutions. Good on You! Thanks for all You Do! God Bless!
Hey 2Track, 1Track here. I’m pleased to have found your channel a few months back. I’ve been ‘devouring’ your content since. Love your mid week and weekend posts. Greatly admire you for digging deep holes in your ‘late’ 40’s. I gave that up decades ago….. Seriously, thank you for your efforts in informative content.
Cpl. Kelly, Outstanding Video AF and I Appreciate All Your Hard Work and Sharing Your Time and Knowledge and Wisdom and Experience and Passing On The Craft. Keeping It Real. I do have that pack also have A.L.I.C.E. pack large and medium with frames and I'm keeping them . I was in the U.S. Army 79-86 . Thanks Again For All You Do and Keeping It Real. Tim L.
Your own rationale for continuing the success of your channel is all that you owe your fans. It is successful because of your content. (1 million subscribers should be proof enough)
Gen Xer here. Can't wait til next week. I have a Summer House in the wilds of Sweden with a fair sized bit of land with a forest behind it. You've given me some ideas for what I'm gonna do up there. Thanks Corporal.
I’m sure I’m not the only one, but I look forward to your videos every weekend, and your mid week videos. Help the work week go that much better. Keep up the great work.
The mud hut is taking shape! Awesome work Corporal!! I love the build series and yes I do watch them in order. I watch to learn something new or see a different technique used, so yes I watch in order. Keep it going Shawn!!
I never miss any of your videos, I am even going back as far as RU-vid will let me and watching your early stuff. Just watched making the pace beads vid last night..
You definitely work hard to bring us videos. No one on RU-vid is as good as you or works harder than you. Very professional my friend. Thank you bro... Semper Fi.
Great video. I'm enjoying the series. I don't know why people don't like the midweek videos. I watch them every week. I'm looking forward to seeing this week's video.
Shawn, you amaze me with all that you do! Especially with that little shovel. I bought one in the early 1980's to this day now and then I still use it. Back then I used it often when camping a couple of times temporarily stranded. It was in the trunk of my 1967 Camero and these days it is in my little truck. People use to laugh at me for having it but I knew the value of such a tool. Plus road flares and the old BIC lighter and such just in case I needed to start a campfire.
That is a bad ass build. I’ve seen that build before, but only in training manuals. I’m a fellow Gen Xer and will be looking forward to next weeks video.
Your weekly videos and the Sunday overnighters are so informative. You have thought of so many cool and useful things to make with little to nothing but what nature gives us. I enjoy all your videos, and hope you make many more.
I watch all your videos from start to salute. Can't believe how hard you work. Didn't know you work out Thought those guns came from your hard work. Im 68. Can't work like that anymore but you do it for me. Thanks for all that hard work. Love that mud hole! I'll be watching.
Told a friend about your channel and he replied to me "yeah, He's the guy that makes grunt mansions in the woods." I died laughing and agreed with him.
Loving the shelter Shawn! We appreciate all of your hard work. I've been camping, bushcrafting, surviving g for over 30 years. That being said, on the rare occasion I don't learn something new, I'm reminded ded of something I forgot. Thank you!! Keep makin em n we'll keep watchin!
Speaking of generations I am a baby boomer grandma and really enjoy your videos. Just thought you would like to know your instructional videos reach all of us.
My wife and I were camping last weekend and when the campers in the site next to us left, they left three 18" logs still smoldering in the fire pit. The other couple we were camping with were quite amazed when I used your trick for moving burning wood i.e. one fork stick and one straight stick. Thanks for the know how.
08/27/2023 Hello Cor. As a child my friends were always making log cabins and undergound. The rain always stopped. WE had one with a dry roof but the entry was open to floods. Fun and good video. Thanks Don
DUUUUUUUDDDDE, OMG! YOU TOTALLY ROCK!!!!!!! YOU ARE SUCH AN INSPIRATION, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THAT YOU DO!!! PLEASE DON'T STOP..... LOVE YOU MAN!!!! IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN WHAT YOU PUT OUT THERE, THANK YOU....
For what it is worth these series build videos are my favorite because this is how a short term situation that turns into a long one would progress. Great teaser for next week, looking forward to it.
I did watch it to the end but had to resign into google to make comment, bugger. Ok. thanks for your show and comments, interesting comment on having oats for breakfast to keep you regular, is my go to food, oats and honey for over 50 years. I look forward to next weeks promo and future shows. stay safe. I note too that you finished two inches taller than when you started with that mud on your boots, hahaha
Took your advice this weekend, the kid and I went out in the woods and had some fun. We practiced making shelters and it was great! Back now so watching the video!
