Great trip Sam. Thank you so much for the shout out. You were the great inspiration for me to get back into camping. Thank you. I have a Banana tee shirt on the way. Take care my friend.
@@CampingwithSamBananas indeed. The air flow will work properly and give you much more efficient burn. Hope to see a video of this set up in the snow soon.
I actually got a notification! That tent looks pretty darn amazing. You will love it. I've seen other RU-vidrs use them and they keep it nice and toasty. Just started watching the video but just wanted to say hello and I'm back Sam bananas 🤩🤓🖐️💯
Beautiful video, looked like loads of fun! I think the stove top lid was 180 degrees turned around though. For mine I always put the pipe side on the rear of the stove body so itll draft all the way back
Hey Hey Sam! Another great adventure sir. Thanks for sharing your exploits with the hot tent camping. Nice looking set up your have there and glad it worked how you wanted. Hello to Mrs. Bananas and yet another great job editing!
Hi my friend! It really did work great. Probably not the best made which means it may rip easily and stuff like that. But honestly for under $100 what do you expect lol! Hope you get to experience it my friend!
Great work as usual!! Dehydrated meals are not actually very bad for you. It’s very difficult to freeze dry tons of preservatives, so they are mostly Whole Foods and good food. Mountain house has been delicious for the most part and peak Refuel has also been very good. Don’t sweat eating these meals. They aren’t going to hurt you.
Another awesome video mate great stuff with the hot tent happy to see you out and about again can’t wait to see your next video my friend John from Sheffield in England Great Britain
Fantastic adventure. I Wanna get Into hot tenting as well. Next winter this winter is icehut. Remember it's the weekend that all the #stealthcampingalliance October challenge videos drop. Thanks sam.
Another great adventure with new gear.. I finely pulled the trigger on a camp chair. It was really a game changer on a short overnight bikepacking 🚲 trip I did a few weeks ago. Be safe..
Yay, I'm the first commenter. LOL! I had the mountain cattle hot tent from Amazon which was the cheapest two years ago. Now I have a one tigress canvas TP it's almost 8 ft tall and 12 ft round. it's one hell of a tent and I can't wait to go winter camping in it! I have a stove as well that is made by Yili, not sure if they make them anymore. Anyway,I just love this hot tenting stuff man it's amazing! And so is your video Sam! Love what you do bro!
Thankyou for another great adventure and outdoor gear review Sam, it was a huge success! Keep the videos coming brother i can't wait for the next one. Stay safe my friend and of course please say hi to Mrs Bananas.
Wow.. and I thought I was the only one who got this tent on the cheap!! LOL. I've used mine 3x so far this season and I'm really enjoying it. Roomy, easy to setup/breakdown. Use it conjunction with a Danchel Outdoor stainless steel and have no complaints.
Nice Tim! Yeah my hopes weren't high because I was looking at the comments on Amazon but sometimes people like to complain for no reason. Very serviceable for the money
Love hot tent camping. If you really get into it you will be looking forward to major snow storms. Word of advice though. Don't seal your door completely shut. I got froze inside my teepee once. Took a while to thaw the door to get out. LOL
As always thank you for your videos, I love exploring new things with you, always amazing. I just bought the tent and a different wood stove but I enjoyed watching you break that one down
Jameson Whiskey is a real man's old school beverage raised by Irish family it was a staple and a great thing to have in the"OOOLLE BAANNAANNA FLASK" put a touch in your coffee in the morning after a long night around the campfire cheers bro!!
Great stuff here! First time catchin one of your vids. I just wanted to say thanks for showing the world how to pack it out! And I’m not bein fresh here. I think too many newbies go backpacking with a slight bit of knowledge on LNT but once the sip o sunshines start flowing that all goes out the window. I can’t drink anymore cuz i almost died but when I was backpacking when I was drinkin, we packed a 30 person and usually a fifth of somethin brown, strong and cheap. But as hammered as we got, we always packed out our cans, bottles and other non booze trash. Anyway… I’ll get off my soapbox but thanks man for showing how to party responsibly in the backcountry! Hey, let’s get that hottent out in a cold rain for a test run. Maybe take a tent you know sheds water with you also. I like those shoes. What kind are they? Hey good stuff here dude! Take care and peace✌🏻 NQU
Hey man thanks so much for the kind words! Very much appreciated and yes I like to show packing out for the same reasons you mentioned. I always find trash no matter how far out I go. Glad you liked and yea I'm trying to make a rain camp happen soon. As for the shoes they are from Nortiv 8 and there's a link in the description if you want to check it out. Thanks and hope to see ya again!
Hey Sammy.....sorry I have not been around for awhile.....have had some serious life issues to deal with. But umm, I did not leave you and Kevin (Small Plots) and I assure you that I am still a huge FAN!!! 😉🙂
Love you're video. I think perhaps you have the top of your stove reversed! The chimney stack should rise up from the back away from the door where you feed the wood. This is so you can cook or boil without working around the stack. Just saying.......... good whiskey huh!!👍
At least you didn't burn a hole in your jacket this time!!! LOL Hell, that meal in the kettle may be the new way to make them!!! That's the best looking meal I've seen yet from you and myself!!! LOL An inch of water in the bottom of the kettle would've probably cleaned it right out if you boiled it. Thanks for sharing, I'm currently looking at hot tents right now. I camp all winter in my hammock and tarp and looking for a little more comfort. Thanks -dave
Hello Sam how are you doing buddy. That was awesome man. That is an awesome tent camping you got. I know it had to keep you warm that night. That was cool man how you try your shoes man. I wish I could find some wide width shoe to wear for the winter time. I never thought that this would be so Difficult having a foot that is 6 1/2 inches wide with very chubby fat wide toes that are Evenly straight across. But I do love the barefooted 👣 style living I have to live. Good video buddy thanks you for sharing it.
Mr sam 🍌 Tony checking in from Iowa USA big shout out to Mrs 🍌 for sharing her 🍌 with our family another great show as always keep it going be safe young man ✌️ 2 the 🌎
Maybe I'm late to the game but never thought to use an alcohol pad for fire starter. I'm sure you did not invent this lol but I'm giving you all the credit haha.
Hi my friend sam long time no see you are you ok is good to see you my friend where is the banana shock have fun my friend and if i don't see you happy holiday My frien and remenber you have friend who live in palm spring california
Hi Susan! I was just checking and unfortunately it looks like they've been discontinued. They are from a company called Nortiv 8 and they made good quality affordable products that I can recommend.
I like the tent it looks pretty roomy, and you cant go too wrong with the pyramid shape for shedding the elements. I never owned one but a late friend of mine had one like that and I was super impressed ! those lil thing do put out some heat ! have you ever tried AlpineAir meals ? best tasting, two serving, loaded with sodium expensive dehydrated meals.
Hi friend! They have them on Amazon for cheap. I'm pretty sure the square ones are universal size but double check. It should measurements but still buy one that says "free returns"
Sam I highly recommend you trying JP WISERS GREEN APPLE whiskey it will be sooo worth it, and love your adventures as always dude, please tell MRS. Bananas hi, and hope the rest of the family are doing well too, as always stay safe, stay awesome out there 👋😎👋
LOL just have stew flavored coffee. Sub'd. I saw a few of you're videos so far. Is the stove smoky ? I have a very sensitive nose and will be living in this set up if I g with this concept for winter.
Thanks for jumping on board! The stove can be a bit smoky sometimes. I'm thinking about switching to fixed pipes instead the sheet of titanium. We'll see on that.
I didn't time it but when it was completely full it was like an hour. That could be prolonged with bigger pieces and also hardwood instead of soft wood like I used.
@@CampingwithSamBananas all in good fun brother..I camped out once for deer season after spending most of the day putting my trunk engine back together..long story short..me and my brother decided very late in the day to camp out and we didn't check the weather report! We grab some minimum gear to rough it for one night we took one blanket one can of food apiece, our guns and ammo plus one gallon of water..by the time we hit the wood it was dark and we tried to gather firewood but didn't have a flashlight but we manage to get enough for a small fire after a couple of hours we heated up our food and realized the temps were dropping very fast. We ate and gathered a few more pieces of wood and went to sleep..couple more hours the cold woke us up and we figured the temps were 20f and our gallon of water was froze solid..anyway we did our best to stay warm with what little firewood we had as the night went by we realized we were in a real survival mode and we spent the rest of the night heating up rocks and placing them in our blankets..by sunrise we we hypothermic and teeth chattering cold we hunted about 20 mins and surrendered and head back to the truck with the heater on full..we found out the temps dropped to 8 degrees in town and was probably closer to zero in the woods..today i can laugh about it but it was one tuff night and wouldn't ever want to do it again without checking weather and taking more gear than i might need..one more thing if you think you have enough firewood to last all night you better times that by at least 6.😂
Hey Sam I really enjoy all content that you put put and want to thank you. I was wondering whenever you have a chance there is another fellow stealth camper that needs some love. His channel is wheres jordo wally. He is a very small channel and puts out amazing content already and think it would make his day if we could come together and get him a few more subs. Thanks brother and keep up the content.
Hey man, glad you like the videos! I've shouted Jordo out before, I love his stuff. But I might do it again to give him a proper shout out like I did with Joe, use b-roll etc
Gonex was the cheapest one I have found paid $50 shipping included been decent tipi tent. Don’t come with the stove Jack have to buy separate and an odd size
Your stove pipe looks a lot like mine does and that's why I'm glad I bought a segmented one too. It doesn't look cold enough in your video to be hot tenting just yet. I can't wait until it's cold so I can go do it myself.
Yeah I really wanted to test my stuff out but I suspect you may be right. I did a winter camp with this one as well. It may be better to go with a segmented pipe to be honest.
@@CampingwithSamBananas - The roll up foil chimneys are so much lighter though. Mine leaks smoke in a lot of places. I've got another foil, roll up pipe though and it will look much better than my first one because I'll get help rolling it. My help for the first one didn't tell me he had very little time to spare and left before it was ready to roll.
