This lightweight titanium and stainless steel folding hot tent stove is really cheap - it's good quality too!
This is an ultralight backpacking hot tent stove made from titanium and stainless steel. At 3.65kg and costing less than £150 delivered (at the time of filming) this hot tent stove is a bargain too good to miss!
The best bit is it only took 10days from ordering to be delivered!
I also show you the firemaple frying pan that is absolutely brilliant for a budget folding frying pan in my opinion. At only £20 at the time of filming, the non stick coating is second to none:

Great video! With the pipe what I did that was helpful was to get the pipe red hot , cool the stove, flip pipe upside down and get it red hot agian. The metal will retain a memory of the shape and make it easier next time.

I'd probably use hose clamps to get it all flush first. The flappy edges would bother me to look at haha. That's a great idea though I'll keep it in mind if I get one.

I definitely wasn't expecting the stovepipe to get rolled up lengthwise, I assumed you'd pull it out from one end like a cone, use the rings to keep it from unspooling, and then just push it back down into itself when it's time to pack up.

Doing it that way the rings wouldn't stop it from just springing back into itself and it would be half the length.

you start it on an angle then roll it then put the rings on then stretch it out after ... just makes it all go together easier and less chance of bending it on the edges trying to do it perfectly at full length@@johnathon007

That's a very nice stove The only thing that I'm not too fond of is the chimney system I'd much rather go to the hardware store and get my own material and build a more suitable one that would be able to be broke down into sections instead of dealing with that hassle of a smokestack.
@alison155
@alison155 Год назад
Yes i thought the same. Infact that would stop me from getting it.. looks great but part of the fun of camping is the ring of stones and burnt sausages 😮 with smoke in the eyes !!
@unionse7en
@unionse7en 11 месяцев назад
except for a thin wall telescoping chimney the one they send is hard to be for compactness and light weight
@Mushamman
@Mushamman 11 месяцев назад
So that smokestack actually isn't a hassle at all. It's way more time/space consuming to have a sectional. Yes, the sectional may seem easy, but you need to have the extra space to carry it, and then you need to devote the time to unpacking each piece and stacking them. With a single sheet, you can pack it up in a much smaller space, and it's quicker to deploy or pack away.
@beararms6945

Those are actually heavier and get fused , roll pipe is much lighter and saves space

The chimney needs to be redesigned...period. That is the only thing holding me back.
@johnnyzsalt5374
@johnnyzsalt5374 Год назад
I have one. You have to roll it like a cone joint. Start at one side, put the rings on, work your way down. Then when all the rings are on the chimney straightens out and you don't have to worry about creasing. After a burn it takes shape and is easier to roll. There is a video out there somewhere demonstrating.

I bought that stove. After using it 4 times it’s warped so bad I can’t stop it from leaking smoke. I think the glass panel will help with the warping. If I was given the option of glass sides, I would have gone with 2 glass sides.

It could look way more cool if you had a small sterling heat engine on top to recirculate the heat inside your tent. Maybe you could even use it to help you with reducing the amount of wood that the heater / stove would need. A small hot stove / small sterling engine combo would look rather cool together.

That's a great price for a Titanium stove. I would have liked to have seen an ash grate in it, I'm not over keen on the roll up chimney as they seem a bit of an hassle,compared to the section ones. Although you made the rolling part look easy. Look forward to seeing you use it on a camp.👍

Im surprised by the price for what you get too, thats why i would never buy it. Pretty sure this is just stainless steel, not titanium. Or maybe the chimney is titanium, at most? Pretty sure the upstream links would be advertising this as a titanium stove if it was titanium, it'd cost a lot more, and would be lighter. Not to mention I think it'd be more colorful once heated.

Is this made out of pure Ti or a Ti alloy do you know? I ask, because a lot of Ti alloys don't hold up well to high heat--they start to get very brittle. Pure or nearly pure Ti is great though for high heat applications. Edit to add: I clicked the link. It is not titanium, it is stainless steel, which would partially explain the weight for the size. A Ti stove that size would weigh a couple pounds less (at least). I have an all Ti stove (no glass) that is larger and weighs only around 3 lbs.

That won’t happen as long as there is heat in the stove. The warm air rising up the (crappy) chimney will always draw air in any cracks on the heater. Combustion gases will not be able to exit. Think about the grates on the front that you open for more flame? Will CO escape there? No, because the draft caused by the heat rising up the chimney draws air in. Nothing on the heater was air tight seal when he assembled it, for the same reason. Air will be drawn in every crack. I’m a gasfitter. Combustion 101.

So what happens to the stove when you do something like take it camping in 40°F weather or something? It seems like those panels, which are already a problem to get folded properly on a good day, would tighten up with the cold and the stove would warp due to uneven heating, causing it to leak smoke and CO2 into your tent. I know stainless steel is far cheaper than titanium, but titanium also warps far less with temperate change compared to steel

@@Kev.B.4311 great stuff! 👍 If I see a bargain I'll make sure to share it with you guys. I also share discount codes on my community posts whenever I see them too... This stove is the cheapest I've seen it anywhere and I've seen the exact same one on Ali Express going for over £300! 😱

It's a great piece for the price but the weight of it doesn't make it hiking friendly especially on really long hikes however if I'm on my Adventure bike all will be good , thanks for sharing.

What part of it is titanium, is it just the chimney? In the add, it says it’s stainless, there’s an image saying “titanium has a higher heat transfer than steel so the stove can heat a bigger area than you would think for its size”, or words to that effect. It’s very misleading because I think the only titanium, if any, is the rollable chimney. The add also says it’s 4.25kg, although I would have thought that weight would increase according to how many windows you have. It’s a good price to try out a stove to see how it suits you, but I think I will eventually get a decent titanium one, one with history behind it so I can research to get one I know won’t warp after a season’s use.

Guy... No one on earth understand what your crazy inch means. Don't use it for the internet. If you only want to talk to yourself, do it. But if you want to show something to the world, use a proper language 🤷‍♂️

This is described as a *"Backpacking* Hot Tent Stove", but how will you fit that long pipe in a backpack?

I don't know about its functionality, but from a woman's perspective, it was a very pretty stove. ♏

You sure thats titanium because that sounds REALLY cheap AND the listing says steel.... either way its a sharp little stove. Wonder how it could be used in a tent

I've seen a few of these reviews, and what I want to know is how long if can burn. Obviously, hardwood will burn longer, and turning down vent and damper, but how long can it burn?
@GrizzlyGaz
@GrizzlyGaz 8 месяцев назад
Longer than an open fire for sure! You do need to feed it every few hours though

Nice video and stove!❤, love the idea of a hot tent and stove but to heavy for me personally. Firemaple are great I use their little anodised 2 pot kit, tough compact, stores gas n burner and nothing sticks.

That’s worth the money for a LNT campfire you can cook on. Or even for heating the garage up when I get round to building my nova.

I'm getting a summer house soon and i was thinking of geting one and making a hole in the roof and puting the pipe out the roof. Do you recommend??
@brianjhoov
@brianjhoov 11 месяцев назад
I think maybe that pipe was meant to be extended like a coil - not opened and rolled the other way? Dunno - I know I want a hot tent stove but I'm trying to find what to buy. That looks very cumbersome.

If the power goes out in winter and you have this you can cut a piece of non flammable metal or cement board to fit in an open window and run the chimney outside to keep warm. You can burn all your junk mail and anything you have available

When I went off grid, I quit spending money on stuff people throw away and just started collecting their trash. And with everyone having credit. The trash gets newer and newer.... They got to get this year's product even if last year's is still good. 😂 Skateboards..... I find nice ones in the trash cause some rich kids got a new one. No nose shread. And then pawn shops just cut the cords off. Electric tape and it's still good. And the grand finale.... National forest, the dumping grounds of middleclassholes who don't pay dump fees.

the link is still the same price but now it is for 304 stainless steel, also those windows help prevent warping so if you can get both windows.
