Be careful of them nasty centipedes in these dead trees. I know they are bad in my area and leave a mean looking scar. Never seen a person strip all their cloths off so fast, but they will if a mean centipede crawls in there

Awesome job! I've been working with my son doing bushcraft and outdoor camping since he was about 5 years old. He just turned 33 and thanks to your efforts we are still spending every opportunity we have doing bushcraft and camping activities. Now my 6 year old grandson has joined us. Thank you for your service, being an old Marine myself I completely get where you are coming from and I really enjoy your shows and so does my son and grandson. Thank you ! Simply OUTSTANDING!

Just a word of thanks. You have inspired my 12 year old son to learn knots and set up shelters during this quarantine. He's out in the field testing his newfound knowledge in the natural acreage around our property. As a result I've spent a few nights camping with him in his shelters in eyesight of the house. He cant wait to go on some real camping trips once the lockdown is lifted.

If you live in the south, particularly, I'm sure you're already familiar. However, I think it bears repeating that if you're cleaning dead leaves and debris out of an old hollowed out tree or anywhere else, you'll want to use a stick or something to move that stuff out. Dangerous, bitey things like to live in those places, too. You get tagged on the finger/hand/chest/arm/face by a rattler or a moccasin hiding in there, rain and sleep will be the least of your worries way out in the woods. Be smart, stay safe.

@nighthawkawandrewwilkinson37
i have noticed all these wild camping and survival videos no one has ever said anything about where you chose for your fire , and the risks in picking your fire location can be , root fires are a big risk to woodlands ,and also compacted fine needles ,which both can course underground fires which can flare up upto 4 months later , and this should be addressed specially for people just wanting to get into the field for first time

I like the browse bed idea.. and your logic is true... good insulation, good for the area and fire safety, easy to set up... and cost efficient, not having to buy, and carry a pad or air mattress. anyone wanting more is either being fussy and elitist about carrying fancy gear, or just wanting to find something to fuss about

Shalom Aleichem. These survival tips are fine and dandy fir young in fit people, but they'll never work for us old broken farts. Also those fire's are nice, but won't last long. Do you get up every couple of hours to restoke it or just let it die overnight? You must have one hell of a warm sleeping bag because there's no way that fire is gonna keep you warm all night? I work in a lumber yard. So I have 2 8x10 lumber tarps. And I use button rocks to tie them down. It works quite well. White side out when hot, black side out when cold.

I've found an easy way to bag leaves is to stand with your heals holding the mouth of the bag open behind you, bend over and scoop a pile in front of you between your legs. You can get both hands on the pile that way and push much more in with less effort.

How about a series on using two tarps. Tarps you buy at lowes, home depot etc. What size is best? What thickness? Can you use one tarp for a hammock or a suspended bend with a frame? How to hide the tarp shelter? Length of line to carry? Speed to assemble?

You seem to actively avoid sponsorships on your videos.. which is highly applauded. But you definitely need to hit up Black Rifle Coffee Co.. no doubt they would pay you to drink their coffee given the size of your fanbase. It pained me to watch you drink that nescafe crap 🤣

In Russia, we also love to bake potatoes in a fire. But we do it without foil. And we often eat burnt crust. As a child, potatoes baked on a fire was a favorite food.
