I just had a physical and my doctor said Corporals Corner is bad for my health. I am also having a hard time explaining the four cases of bacon in the freezer to my wife. Ah hell, I'm going to go and make a bacon sandwich, a triple bacon grilled cheese sandwich to be exact. "if it ain't raining, we ain't training" well if it ain't bacon, it ain't worth maken. LOL. I'm in.

Hi Shawn, I've been watching your videos for about 2 1/2 years now and have been enjoying them. Today I went back to your starting videos that I can find going back abut 5 YEARS and have been what my daughters call "BINGE WATCHING", Yeah, I'm not a kid anymore. In fact I get my 5 yr old Grandson likes to sit and we watch them together when we can. I continue to buy gear and putting it aside for my Grandsons as I'm afraid I won't be around when they could really use them when they are older, want to leave them in good shape gear wise. Always wonderful to watch your videos corporal! Just tried my first real bushcrafting shelter this last weekend in the Gila wilderness. If it weren't for your videos I don't believe I would have succeeded in keeping myself warm all night. My ArcturusXL tarp failed me the very first night when car camping at the trailhead for a 4-day long backpacking adventure in the Gila Wilderness. Thanks to your videos, I was able to stay warm and cozy all night after a hard day of bush wacking through the rugged landscape of the south west. I greatly look forward to your classes! Been watching you for some time, I like the lighter attitude and as always the no nonsense approach to gettin' it done.

I made a fort when I was a kid. Dug a hole in the ground, when seats, and a candle for light. Covered the opening with a piece of plywood and glued pine needles, leaves, and debris over the top, as to hide it. While sitting in my fort. The candle went out, I couldn't get it to relight. I opened the top and got a blast of oxygen. I remember being sleepy, glad the candle went out.

I like these videos only because I drink every time I hear “outstanding”, “good to go”, or “get ‘er done”. I’m 13 minutes in to this one & already probably not legal to drive

While mowing my yard two days ago I, without actively looking, spotted three nourishing and tasty edible wild plants. Without going through and reading the 859 comments before mine I’d like to say you need to tell people to never make their shelter on the root side of the uprooted tree. While it might seem obvious to some of us, it might not be to everyone. Under certain conditions trees that have been blown over can without warning, stand back up. Even partially up, could trap you. Don’t take chances. Consider all outcomes before committing to a course of action. OODA. Orient. Observe. Decide. Act. Stay safe. Stay alive.

Next time you're making a grilled cheese and the butter isn't spreading. It's just tearing up your precious Texas Toast. throw the butter in the pan to melt then toss in the bread. Saves you a step on spreading the butter and won't tear up your bread.

Corporal. Would love for you to show things that go wrong when you’re camping and/or setting up. Lose something, break something. Those things can be so frustrating. I can count how many food items ive lost in a fire. Helpful to show people how to adapt and move on. Love the vids and info.

Had never heard of Texas toast until a friend in Canada mentioned it at the week end now I know what he was talking about.You should put a compilation show of just your food. As a certain MRE reviewer would say "Nice" Love watching down in Oz, during slow night duties.

I'm sure you already know this, but pine sap will burn like tar. I have a jack pine in my backyard and the sap runs frequently. A dollop of that on the end of a stick will make an easy fire starter no matter the weather because the sap seems to be fairly water resistant.

Heck yeah, that moss will definitely protect the pad from getting poked.

Hey Shawn, I was curious about the moss that you used as bedding. I am in South Carolina and it has always been my understanding that the moss that you were using here in this video is usually inundated with Chiggers. That being said - initially the use of the moss would be ideal, however the end result could be Very different. I am not here to criticize you at all, but just wanted to mention that at least in SC you may not want to pad your bed with moss. The death that you would wish upon yourself after having slept on a bed full of chiggers would not compare to the agony provided by the chiggers. I thoroughly enjoy your channel and the content. Everything is better with Bacon. Live Long and Prosper

Hello Corporal! I am truly amazed by your videos and skills, OUTSTANDING! Please keep up the good work. We live in North with alot of snows during the winter and the temperature can go to -20 Celcius (-4 Fahrenheit). So my question is, how do you survive in the cold and with what gear? We have been training during the mid summer to late fall but we don't have the bulge or the balls to go out camping in the winter. The heavier the sleeping bag is the bulky the backpack will be, hence only in summers.

Ah bacon! The most versatile meat for camping cuisine! Used to take some bacon and a pan when i fished. Bacon provided both the oil to fry and seasoning to cook up a fish for lunch.
