You made an important rules error; when you win a challenge, you can't pay a life to discard cards. You have to keep all the cards. If you want to cull cards, you have to deliberately fail the challenge. That's the beauty of the game; you have to choose between failing to get rid of bad cards or winning the challenge but keep the bad cards. That's why this game is so hard to beat. Your way of playing makes the game much easier.

Good play through, this one is on my list of wants. It is a very large list. My fav solo games I have right now are villages of Valeria and the game. I also love playing the unofficial villainous solo from BGG.

Great playthrough! Friday and Ghost Stories were the two games that took me the longest to beat solo, super exciting the first time you get past the pirates. Loving the solo content, you've got a new subscriber!

Ah....Friday! The old classic. Honestly, I can't remember if I've ever beaten both pirates. I've been trying to play a game a day for the month of May and I haven't done one yet for today so I think it's going to have to be Friday! You did a great job showing off the game and good job on getting as far as the pirates. That 40 point one was a tough first draw though! (So far this month I've enjoyed Doom Machine, Warp's Edge, Cascadia, Floriferous, Parks, and Cuphead: The Fast-Rolling Dice Game solo. Depending on their ages, your kids might like that last one.) P.S. A question that came up: When you win against a hazard, can you still spend extra life to get rid of cards you don't want, thus culling your deck further? I've always played that you can only do that when lose against a hazard.
