The heat deflectors for any of those are game changers

Which one did you decide on? We just got a new code a few days ago, so make sure to use the code "BARBECUELAB20" for $20 off $199 if you're buying online.

I have the bonfire and it’s perfect for a family of 4. I also have a rotisserie ring for my 18” Weber Smokey Mountain and it fits this pit perfectly. I put some tabs on the ring to hold a grate so I can grill or rotisserie with it. And the lid of WSM goes on top if needed.

We will often break out the Bonfire when it's just the 4 of us hanging out on the patio, so I'm right there with you. The Canyon is aptly named I think, because that thing is massive and great for company. That's great info on the WSM, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for a comparison video on these. I’ve always wanted one but the lack of not knowing has kept me from pulling the trigger. I think the Yukon would do the trick

Here is a substitute for heat deflectors: HIGHER SEATS! I have two SOLOs, and the one back east I use on a deck with high bench seating. Makes a big difference if you are sitting 10-12” higher than a standard chair!
@TheBarbecueLab
@TheBarbecueLab 2 месяца назад
Great tip! The seats we use around the fire pit are taller high back adirondack chairs, and they make it so much easier to feel heat when we're sitting down.

@@TheBarbecueLab I love the heat deflectors, in theory, but it interferes with the natural enjoyment of watching a flame…. And underneath it all, every man you know is just a 13 year old boy who loves to make fires and cook stuff.

Hey Surf, how is your deck under the Solos?
@surfingonmars8979
@surfingonmars8979 2 месяца назад
@@gosman949 I have the base for the SOLO, and I placed four large, square paving stones down under it. They protect the wooden deck. When I have used it on the concrete driveway, the concrete was warm to the touch, but not hot. I suspect that if you got a readily-available asbestos mat for your deck, it would be fine. There are very few sparks or embers - none, really - so I used it on the deck after observing it for a while on the concrete driveway in the east. Here in SoCal, I use mine on spanish style tiles, and it is fine.

I’ve watched so many of your videos and silly self never knew you are also in Indiana. I just moved from Nora north Indy area to way east out in Greenfield for our first home. Excited to pick up a solo stove and pellet grill smoker.

Sounds like I have a new bbq buddy to come over and assemble grills! We're just up the road from you in Fishers, so enjoy the wind that's been keeping us from getting out and shooting the last few days...

I'm supposed to be having guests over tonight around the fire pit making Big Mac Smashburger tacos... in the rain... and 45mph gusting winds -@@JarradShaw If we don't blow away, I'll try to put together a short vertical on it. If nothing else, we should be able to see the lettuce blow off a taco.

That sounds delicious and fun! Lol!!! God bless and God speed my friend. The family just got two welsh corgi pups. Watching them outside to go potty looks like something from Moby Dick as they blown around, lol

I always thought the whole point of these pits are to fill them and then burn from the top down in order to burn up all the wood gases for a long smokeless burn?

Do you still stink like wood after being around this unit?
@TheBarbecueLab

Not with a Solo Stove fire pit. They really do burn so clean that there's no smoke smell on clothes or hair.

Do not overload it. My go to fire pit is the canyon. The nonsmokeless go to fire pit is the old country 36 inch round fire pit.
@TheBarbecueLab

I really like the Canyon too. It's crazy how wide the heat radius is on that model. I got to see the 36" Old Country at the BBQ Expo this year, but it wasn't lit... Sounds like a good upcoming test!

So tell me, being smokeless, does it still smell like a campfire? Because I love that smell on me afterwards, on clothes, in my hair.

Best tip, you can build this yourself at home with a well stocked Wal-Mart
