Solo Stove Lite - amzn.to/2vlbQ1f
1. Prepare and process your fuel ahead of time. A handful of twigs will boil a cup of water in 7-10 minutes.
2. Place on flat ground to ensure stability. Having a windscreen also helps protect the flames from strong winds.
3. Don't cook inside the pot itself. It slows you down having to clean the pot versus just stuffing the stove in the pot after use.
4. Profit!

If you burn big chucks if wood once it's Hot, You won't have to set there and feed it thing sticks that burn up in 3 minutes👍 And a trick is to use semi green/ wet wood once it's hot, it won't smoke and it will burn alot longer !

I find pine pellets are a good alternative easy to carry dry pack 250 gms in sandwich bags in wet weather add a little alcohol on top and you get about 50 mins😊

You don’t need a back up to solo stove. You can use sterno and charcoal if you don’t want to use wood. The key is to use hard wood. Burns hotter longer. I have 4 solo stoves. 2 lites with 900 pots 1 campfire for frying pan pot or skillet and one Bonfire. They are the best. Key is hardwood and cutting it the proper size. Everyone I see on RU-vid stuffs the solo stove, this is wrong. Takes very little wood !

Hi! It depends. I recently went on a hiking trip in the back country where it had rained for a week. I used the solo stove at night when I had time to collect and process wood, but used a gas stove in the morning to boil water quickly and head to the next site. I would continue to pack a gas canister stove as backup where time and weight is an issue.

I am late to the party, but thanks so much for sharing your tips! You have a very calming voice; and I appreciate your use of quiet jazz music in the background.

More of a vid of what you don't understand, than a vid of what the stove can do. The experienced woodsman get that. The ignorant children will not.

It's a fun little camp stove I use in the backcountry. I've used as part of my cooking arsenal when preparing meals or boiling water for a group of 5-6 guys.

I picked up 2 of them! I really dig them a lot. I wanted something else besides a rocket stove in case of grid down/power outage situations and these should work well.

you oughta get yourself a truck or suv brother, i had a mustang before my most current rig and getting a bigger car changed my outdoor capabilities! love the vids tho

I ordered the Solo Stove Titan yesterday- a tad larger and hopefully I can still place in a large backpack- any thoughts?
@casualcamping4309
@casualcamping4309 Год назад
For hiking back country, the Solo Stove Lite is pushing the size limit of a cookset for me in terms of volume. The Lite is great for dry days where you can save fuel by using twigs and get a pot of boiling water going in 10 mins. The larger size of the Titan might negate the convenience factor of the Lite.

@@casualcamping4309 thanks for the response- I'll keep that in mind. However, I may just keep using my jetboil for backpacking and use the titan for simple car camping when stationary for a few days. I'm a solo traveler- so probably best to have one of each.

@@briantodd4887 makes sense. I carry the Lite + MSR gas stove as backup. and it all tucks neatly in the Solo Stove pot.

Does the sooty smell from the stove transfers to the inside of the pot during transport? Is the storage sack waterproof?
@LinChearReal
@LinChearReal 4 года назад
The smell doesn't transfer to the inside of the pot. The storage sack is not water proof.

Very informative. I think I'd be tempted to use a gas canister with the stove though instead of finding wood.

You can’t use a canister specifically with this stove.It’s either wood or the alcohol burner.
