Back for the next installment of the eight day stat at the Cabin. Speaking of installment, time to get that new stand in place. Pete from Big M Hunting Stands delivered a nice 4x8 stand on Saturday.
But first on Friday I took a walk in the new logging roads that were just opened up over the past few days. This one is on the far right of the property and goes right past @sintax77 (Shawn's) stand. The stand needs a little work, but we will have good access to it, and the rest of the property now.
Some canned (homemade) chili on Friday night. It's great having some canned food with you so you don't have to worry about the cooler and how long it's been in there, or not frozen. Also had some canned chicken and pork with me. Chili was great and really hit the spot.
Pete arrived about noon on Saturday with the Stand and with the help of our logger we got it put up fairly quickly. The bottom and legs where per-assembled and slid right off the trailer and stood right up. The sides and top were in 5 easy peaces with the attaching screws already half way in. Everything fit together like a puzzle as Pete stated and went up fast. I put some temporary camo wrap on it for this year, but will be giving it the full paint job next Spring.
Earlier in the week I used the AllTrails app to map out all the new and reopened logging roads on the property. We now have full access to just about anywhere we want to go on a 4 wheeler. I brought up the map and showed what it looks like, along with the in person view as I looped around.
I put up a new pin in the Blue Pot Cafe that was given to me by Pete's Dad of the 504th to honor our Veterans. Took a moment to reflect on Sr. what would have been his 73 birthday.
