I'm at a lost as to why you do not have millions of subscribers as without a producer, cameraman, sound man and 'gofer' you showcase the wilderness, wildlife, lakes and mountains in such magnificent grandeur. This was a real feat of determination and we were the beneficiaries. 🌟
There aren't as many people who watch outdoor content as other niches, growing in this niche too is a struggle. There are a few vanlife channels that are bigger than foresty but almost all of them are under 1 million subs.
@@rustysmith540 And as he said in one of his recent videos, he gets REALLY high numbers of views consistently on his videos and has been doing this for quite a while. Which is fantastic! 🎉
@@IdRatherBeHiking I agree with you, but I think that Foresty's channel is unique because he crosses over into multiple genres such as vanlife, camping, hiking, mountaineering, cooking and adventure travel. No other channel that I am aware of does this. It puts him in a category by himself, and is one of the reasons, I think, that he DOES consistently get so many views on any given video. His videos appeal to a wide range of viewers with a multitude of interests. Throw in his charismatic personality and dry wit, and it is a winning combination!
If you are still curious, the strange sound that you heard in the forest is what used to be called a "Blue Grouse". These days that species is split into two, the Sooty Grouse (more coastal) and the Dusky Grouse (interior west). They look and sound nearly identical. Where you were there is sort of a hybrid zone for the two species. That far north their ranges meet. This is fairly close to the coast so it's probably a Sooty.
My first thought too. Whenever I first encountered a Grouse drum I was on a canoe trip in Maine and didn't realize it was a ruffed grouse. Unfamiliar with the sound I assumed it was some kind of human encroachment, maybe an echo from a wind turbine or something and I was annoyed. Later when I searched for info on the sound I realized it was a grouse and now I love hearing it whenever I'm out and about in the north woods, especially in spring -- they really pound it this time of year.

Rosie again again, waterfalls, streams, deer, lizards, bluffs, nice camps, nice town, high elevation, rent bikes, best pastry ever, not many bears or people, bear boxes, I think I liked it.
Foresty, hearing that sound coming from the forest after seeing those paw prints would have thrown my imagination into overdrive. I would not have gotten any sleep. I'm glad you both made it to the top.
Thank you for taking us to the places where I could not go on my own. The veiws from the summits are stunning. I can't imagine how beautiful they must be in person.
@@forestyforest Keep in mind the idea of restarting Patreon whenever you might feel like it, or it becomes financially useful. A lot of people would be more than happy to contribute a few bucks a month, without any 'extra content' expectations. Your channel is worth it.
Viewing your scenery on a large screen .. is the only way to get 1/2 the impact that being there in person would be .. but when you reach the summit .. and Rocko is with you .. and the music begins to play .. just WOW .. a pause in heartbeats .. to take it all in. To top it off .. a nice grizzly running the other way!!! As always .. thank you for showing the world these amazing places.

I have always considered God and Mother Nature to be the same. Sorry you were offended by my use of the language. Maybe my dictionary is wrong but it doesn’t say anything about Mother Nature as being pagan. The definition of pagan doesn’t say anything about Mother Nature. I don’t know how they are connected. Amazing territory! Awesome video production!! I can’t imagine hiking amongst the bears not to mention sleeping like that. You have nerves of steel!! And you forgot the spray….. Can't agree with you more......I'd have bear bangers, spray and a shot gun........I have seen bears blast through that tight knit forest crap as if it wasn't there.....they are the top of the food chain out there and now it! His footage is the best, no-one comes close.....EXCELLENT...!
