To walk in a beautiful landscape with the heat on the face while snow lies at the feet ... magical memories. I always appreciate the way you put in a map route and generous peak filming so others can use it as an aid in route planning.👍

Have just discovered your videos. I did the Cairn Toul-Braeriach Traverse in the opposite direction on a horrible wet, misty, snowy day back in May 2015 and didn't get a view until I was coming off the summit of Braeriach. I did it in one day in 14hrs 25mins. Definitely type 2 enjoyment for that one! Thank you for the opportunity to see the views that I didn't get to see. We really are lucky to have such beauty in Scotland (when you can see it!).

Super video of an outstanding traverse: thanks. The white legs give away your aversion to shorts! In a previous video you asked for recommendations for future Munros. Often done as the first or last is Ben More on Mull. As one of the few I have done I would thoroughly recommend doing it via the A' Chioch ridge from Loch Na Keal rather than the slog up the "tourist" path. Use the tourist path for descent and if it's a hot day a lovely pool awaits to dip your feet or have a dunk as my son did while waiting fo me to catch up!
@ScottishMunroJourney
@ScottishMunroJourney 2 года назад
Thanks Robert 😁 haha I thought that, it was a nightmare exposing my shots as my legs are so bright 😂 To be honest I haven’t looked at Mull yet - but that route does sound interesting! Especially the pools at the end 😁 I don’t think I will be doing it last anyway - want one a bit closer to home so friends/family can join 😂 Cheers, James

Spectacular views! I always think the Devil's Peak looks quite diminutive compared to its enormous neighbours but it looks like a brilliant mountain. I did the Braeriach Traverse last year, but even though I camped, I decided not to do the Devil's Peak because I started the Traverse with a lengthy walk through the Lairig Ghru and then did the fantastic Angel's Ridge scramble to the summit of Sgor an Lochain Uaine. After all that I thought three summits was enough.

@@ScottishMunroJourney Highly recommended! And not too difficult - a grade 1 scramble, though the last wee bit seemed a bit more tricky, or maybe I took a wrong turn! Quite a slog to reach the start, so don't do it on one of the hottest days of the year, as I did.

Literally on this section in the SMC Guide and then it was your next video! The footage and format is superb as always, so enjoyed the longer feature, the videos are relaxing yet informative, you let the mountains do the talking! In the Mournes where I am everything is relatively straightforward for even the most inexperienced hiker/runner (safety of the Mourne Wall) but the Cairngorms are certainly a place beyond Keep up the great work, videos are getting better and better 👍

Brilliant video James. Stunning scenery and not a sole to be seen. I'd love to try wild camping one day, but just haven't got the confidence to get the gear and give it a go, would bring on my anxiety I think unfortunately. Out of interest, I see your walking with walking shoes rather than boots. Do you find this just as supporting on long uneven walks? Keep the Munro videos coming, they really are superb and you seem to have the good weather luck too.
@ScottishMunroJourney

Thanks Graham, there was a few people about but I tend to film when its quiet 😁 I know how you feel - I get anxious the day before a camp & my mind is always telling me to bail out.. but its actually really rewarding once you get out and do it 😁 also.. its never as bad as you think it will be! Yes I chose shoes for this one as I didn’t fancy the heavy boots in the heat, I didnt really notice a lack of support until maybe the last few hours of day 2, my ankles were a bit worse than normal.. the Cairngorm paths are usually pretty good so that probably helped 😁 Thanks for watching 🏔 Cheers, James

Nice vid. I am there in July and was planning to do this. Any pros/cons to doing it your way? (Munro’s first, walk out 2nd day). I was thinking the other way round but your way might be better( gets the hills out of the way when fresher, gives option of camping higher if corrour busy).
