I have been using the SoloShot system since early on in their progression of "updates" that never seemed to reeally fix things. It is looking like the 3+ version is much like the ones that came before it.
The Soloshot did very well imo in those conditions. A small light colored speck in a bright blue sky is impossible for even the best $10,000 SLR cameras to stay focused. And its tracking seemed pretty good to me. It can’t predict tracking wise where a tiny plane is going to go next as it jumps all around but it’s reactive so it has to detect where it is… and a small speck like that is hard to see. I’ve had a SS3 and have yet to try my SS3+ but whet I noticed is it would lose tracking and never regain it, which yours seems to do. I’ve also had horizon problems for long range tracking. I think the cameras are pretty awesome for people who have realistic expectations and have a lot of patience to do some trial and error to get things right.
Thanks for the video! Sorry about the plane. I had big expectations on this camera but it seems the GoPro with headstrap will have to do for a while longer.
