I've gone through 2 different SS3 units.. One Optic65 and also the 25. The darn thing drifts and drifts until my son (high school and club soccer) gets completely out of frame. SO MUCH FOR UNATTENDED CAMERA. I spend more time adjusting the manual arrow controls than I do watching the game. Might as well just use a standard video camera on tripod that actually has exposure control and focuses better. Also, the darn Optic65 is a wind magnet that does not handle much more than 5-10mph without shaking (not the tripod... the camera itself). It's just too loose and out of balance IMHO. The Optic25 is better in that regard, but the hardware/software is just not ready for primetime unless you're not moving a lot (i.e., running up and down the full length of a soccer field). It tracks ok in small areas in my experience, but not over any length of time when traveling back and forth 160 degrees or so... Not real happy with my SS3 right now. :(

Hi Andrew, I assume you have uploaded the latest firmware? They say they are improving the tracking software on a weekly basis. With my camera, once I get it tracking correctly, it seems to work well. The shaking from wind is an issue so I built a wind shield for mine, testing it this week and will post about it soon. It's not perfect but it has a lot of potential.

Excellent review! Thank you very much! Do you know how long the tag battery life will last (if it is on and being used)once it's fully charged?

Hi Gabriel, the tag battery lasts longer than the camera can film. To be honest I got frustrated with this camera as it was not working consistently for me so I gave mine to a friend and don’t miss it.
