No need to run long blue wire from fuse to amp.. Take blue wire from Line output converter and connect directly to amp that’s all you need and share the L.O.C ground wire with ground amp wire and connect to amp. Great video btw

It's always something for starters. From what I see you could install your amplifier without HI/Low signal adapter to "high imput" in front of amp. But you did good here anyways. I would strongly not recommend wiring anything to fuses. You can find mostly yellow cabel behind your head unit and measure voltage there. When ignition is on and shows 13.5-14.5V~ and when ignition is off and shows 0V you got the right one from which all car audio amps take start signal normaly. For measurement use multimeter (10$ new one) and measure this yellow wire with black one (usualy) .

Everything he did is after the head unit. This is a simple setup thanks to the Loc. If he were changing out the head unit or any of that it wouldn’t matter. It’s just using the existing audio wires to go from a hi pass signal to a low pass signal for the amp. Then he has an on off signal to turn the amp on and off. Very simple. The loc just converts the high pass amplified speaker signal to a low pass line in signal for the amp. Been doing it this way for years in set ups that it can be done in.

@thomasblake7046
@thomasblake7046 5 месяцев назад
Incorrect. The LOC is signal sensing. It only allows transfer of power from the amps battery lead to the remote when the stereo turns on. That's the entire point of the LOC. Everything in this video is wrong. @@thelegendarywasdgamer9724

I see lots of these people's points with it being a very unproper setup job, but for a first attempt it is decent. Thing is, it works. Looks similar to my first attempt. Over a few days I cleaned mine up, screwed down the amp, ran the remote wire to the radio etc. But, this is much better than paying car toys 200+ for labor. You're not gonna hurt anyone or set anything on fire. These guys are just a bunch of hypocrites, they probably don't even know how to keep their homes tidy.

In addition to running speaker wires from the LOC to the car speaker wires, I just realized I ran an additional set on both car speakers and ran them into the speaker terminals on the sub amplifier obviously where the sub speaker wires go into. The sub works and sounds great I just don’t know if there’s any issues to having another set of wires on each side of the car speakers running into the speaker terminals on the sub amplifier

Running this same line out converter. You don’t have to tap in to any fuse. That yellow wire and black wire on the converter is the power and ground wires that you can run into the power and ground on your amp. Have mine that way and it works fine. 👍

Tapping into the fuse is for the remote though to shut them on and off? I hear some people saying you can tap the remote from the loc to the remote on the amp itself but that doesn’t make too much sense to me
@brendanmcgrath8282
@brendanmcgrath8282 Год назад
What sense does that make? The remote wire is the signal that turns the amp on and off and has nothing to do with the LOC. The remote wire needs to be connected to a source of power that will turn on and off with the car which is why the fuse box is perfect. (I recommend a fuse tap instead of just rapping it around the fuse like that 😅)

You were supposed to connect the blue cable from your LOC to the remote on your amp, the yellow cable to the power on the amp and the black cable to the ground on the amp. That way your amp turns on when your car turns on

@FenleySmith awesome 👌. Just a FYI if you're going to run multiple amps,lights, any equipment off remote you're able to just make sure your fuse you connect to on the panel is the same. Example if the fuse you attach is 15 then the second fuse can't be higher! ( safety ).... if you need more amps connect to a bigger fuse in the panel, same thing applies. Your welcome bud! You have any other questions let me know. Lol if you want to keep factory head units rca's can be made as well

All you gotta do is connect the speaker wire to the Left speaker (positive & negative) and right speaker (positive & negative). This is your input signal for your amplifier. The LOC, power, ground and remote switch are then to be connected your amplifier.

Hey man, what was the reason you ran it like this? Was it because your fuse kept blowing? That’s what’s happing in mine. My 25 fuse connected to the amp keeps popping. But I think it has to do with me hooking my yellow wire up to my positive running to the amp. But I see you actually cut your yellow and black positive on the output converter, and you cut the blue, do I have the same issue as you? Does this mean I don’t need those ones either

im confused so did you splice to wires from the speakers to the amp and connected the converter as well? how did you splice the speakers to the converter to the amp? you didnt mention how you connected your converter to the amp, you kind of did but lack of telling us how you then connected your subs? did you connect the speaker wires to the converter then splice the wires from the converter to the amp? and what about your positive and negitive wires for left and right? you said you tied them together, so are we not using a negitive at all? just positive to both?

I've done this several times. But I am having a few issues now and I'm not sure why. I have a 2005 Endeavor limited that has a factory 500watt amp and a factory sub in the back. The sub was blown so I removed it and used the 1 set of wires that went to it as the signal wires for the converter. Since it's just 1 set of wires (1 positive and 1 negative) do I take the 2 sets and twist them to gear her from the converter and then connect them to the wire coming from the old sub? Or do I only use 1 set ?
@caraudiosolutions
@caraudiosolutions 7 лет назад
4 WIRES= 2 sets of speakers so 2 wires per speaker (positive/negaive) same with the rca connection you only need 1 rca per sub, if you're using 2 sub woofers then you need to connect 4 wires but that's a different way.

@MichaelLammers

the whole point of a LOC is to get low frequencies from stereo (as in left and right) speakers. so you don’t need to tap into all 4 speakers. i assume you’re running the subs in in parallel; i would follow all of these steps and then get an RCA splitter and connect those to the LOC RCA output. FYI Next time you run a remote wire to the fuse trim some of that exposed wire. That is a positive output if that wire touches ground could cause that wire to heat up depending on what side of the fuse you connected it to. If you can connect it behind the stereo connect it behind the stereo my 2nd option for me is cigarette lighter if it’s not consistent current. I would also consider at least investing in light circuit tester it would help you find a remote wire.

DO NOT EVER "WRAP" YOUR REMOTE WIRE AROUND THE FUSE LIKE THAT!!! spend a couple bucks and buy a low profile fuse tap literally gives you a wire to connect the remote wire to, shoving the bare copper between the fuse and fuse box like that is a horrible suggestion... dont do that

You can just run a wire into your remote straight into you power line, but your amp will always be turned on, so if you want to keep unplugging your amp everytime you use it then it will work :p

@ronfisher5441

No, the LOC is only for if you DONT have the RCA outputs on the back of your radio. Most OEM radios dont have them, so if you dont wanna buy a new radio you buy the LOC.

Should use a switch in instead of a fuse. Its way easyer. Turn on if you want bass to turn heads and turn off when your mum and nan is in the car.. on the switch it has ground,live,remote. Test if switch and wires are okay. Have 3 coloured wires. Or any wire, Unconnect the wire from the amp so there no spark while putting it through the car and run the wire from the amp to somewere suitable to turn it off and on, in the pocket switches near key ignition. Its easy to hook up. Warning!! must turn off when not in use. Because it can leave you with a flat battery.

Do you have to ground the loc? also what are symptoms of the gains not being set properly on the loc?
@MichaelLammers
@MichaelLammers 6 лет назад
grounding the LOC is only necessary if you’re using it for your remote wire on the amp. there is a VERY little amount of power going through it and all of it is wired into the circuit so it’s grounded from the car’s speaker circuit. i keep the gain all the way up on the LOC and refine it on the amp. hope this helps.

@djsoundzentertainment42

Looks like you didn't use the remote wire from the converter to the amps remote turn on or connect the yellow wire to your cars constant 12 volt source. Why did you do it the way you did it? You could have just hooked the converters yellow wire to the amps positive, the black to the amps ground, then the blue/white to the amps remote. No need to run a remote from the front to the rear.
@MichaelLammers
@MichaelLammers 6 лет назад
DJ Soundz Entertainment I realize this now. it actually took me a long time to figure out i needed an LOC and by the time i installed the LOC, i had the amp’s remote already tapped into the fuse box. but you’re right, might have to remake this video
@amaggard14

so you didn't have to ground the loc at all or give it battery power? you cut the ground and battery wire

@MichaelLammers
@MichaelLammers 7 лет назад
yes, because you're only splicing the wires together, the rear speakers still carry the signal, it's just also set through the LOC. Just be very careful as these wires are often small and rewiring them is a LOT more difficult.

Just take the LOC out and hook your rear speakers back up. If your running aftermarket head unit then run amp as normal. Whomever owned it before you ran the factory HU with amp and sub running off rear speaker

and if you mean the power and ground on the LOC, then no you don't need to. It is, however, always best to ground everything that you can. just use discretion.
