I have a single folder with all of my Autodesk Maya projects which includes all the work I've done over that past 7 years and I couldn't get into it this morning, and after watching this video I'm back in and backing it up on a separate hard drive every day from now on! OMG it worked. I recently got a 4TB HDD so I wouldn't have to deal with a bunch of smaller drives all the time. I copied my work onto it and then it stopped functioning. The connection of my HDD dock got a bit iffy recently, so it disconnected my new hard drive while it was booting up....more than once. Then I started to run into this small problem where I couldn't access it at all. With this I was able to fix it. I also got rid of the old dock ofc. Thank you so much. You saved me from losing about 6 months worth of work. It entails video editing. Large files means a lot of required space in case you're wondering. ;)

I wasn't really expecting for something to happen since my issue was based on a file in my hard drive D, and your problem was based on the entire drive. However, the system still checked for corrupted files in the entire hard drive. Only took the system around 45 seconds, great. Now I am able to download Valorant again. Thank you so much. ⚜⚜⚜⚜

Thank you so much for this video even after 5 years this still works I was trying to fix this for 3 hours just to delete one broken undeletable folder even tool apps couldn't fix it but with your video it fixed it and made it deletable in just 1 minute (my drive was kinda empty).

Access Denied as you do not have sufficient privileges or the disk may be locked by another process. You have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode and make sure the disk is unlocked. this is what i get after doing the first command please help

I was frustrated from other videos until I came here, followed your instructions carefully and it actually fixed all the errors. I thought I was going to have to reformat, being a DJ with thousands of music files, that would have been a nightmare, yes, I have them backed up on other drives, but to copy them over takes a very long time. Thank you! Was worried i'd have to download all my music again. I transferred over 1000 songs from my itunes to my external HDD, cause i changed to windows 8 from windows 10. Got that msg when i clicked on the music folder in my external HDD. Now it's working. Thanks bud!

I did as you said but i still received this in the terminal. Please Help The type of the file system is NTFS. The first NTFS boot sector is unreadable or corrupt. Reading second NTFS boot sector instead. Unable to determine volume version and state. CHKDSK aborted.
So after restart I got a screen telling me that "Your PC ran into problem and needs to restart. We are just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you .. 0% complete). Should I wait for this to be restarted. It takes almost one hour without any changes right now though I've just installed windows 10 in my machine (the drive is almost empty).
Chkdsk may run if this volume is dismounted first. ALL OPENED HANDLES TO THIS VOLUME WOULD THEN BE INVALID. Would you like to force a dismount on this volume? (Y/N) mine says this
wow this instantly recovered the corrupted folder on my flash drive. Why on earth doesn't windows offer to troubleshoot the error like this on the spot? lol

sir .. i downloaded windows 10 bootable from Microsoft website to my external harddisk. unfortunately once download complete ifound only window10 installation and all my others are there but not accessible . any idea please
It's showing that that 'Chkdsk may run if the volume is dismounted first as it is in use by another process. And that all opened handles to this volume would then be invalid. Would you like to force a dismount on this volume?' What do I do?
Awesome Thank you. Helped get a new 2tb Samsung 860 evo back up after transferring files from older hdd. After removing old drive and a restart it did this 3 times even after re partitioning the drive. Doing a sector scan to see if it has any bad sectors and depending may be returning for a replacement.
