The word linear is very important. y = x + 2 Think about this linear equation: if you think about it, it doesn't matter what x is, all we need to know is what kind of line this equation describes. Here, it states that whatever x is, add 2, and you get where y will be. Thus, we draw a table showing what would happen if x were 0, 1, and 2. This allows us to draw the line on a very simple Cartesian plane. x | 0 | 1 | 2 y | 2 | 3 | 4 Remember to try and read it like a map: "wherever x is, y is + 2 of it's location." Therefore, the variables on the simple graph in linear equations.
just pick randomly, it doesn't matter which number you are choosing. Graph is always gonna be right, as long as you find the correct value of y, by predicting x value...
Does it matter what numbers you choose for x when doing the tables as I just pick any for my lines and they still end up not meeting each other?? I don’t really know how to explain it haha

according to my calculator, squaring minus numbers doesn't make them positive. For example he says that -3 squared is +9. however my calculator says it's -9. Does anyone have an explanation for this because this has thrown me off! Mocks in two days!
@@PO1S0N-1 This is hella late but the reason he chose -1, 0 and 1 was because if he chose 0,1 and 2 again then 2 would have taken it off the graph because it adds to 9 and the graph didn't show 9.
