Solving the Blanka problem ( How to beat Blanka in SF6 ) 

Losing to blanka always feels like youve been robbed clean definately one of the most frustrating characters to lose against alongside kimberly.

out of this whole cast i get the most infuriated losing to Lilly idk why i just do. like i can justify losing to everyone else. but whenever i lose to a lilly i just feel like a big dummy

Fancy tech: Blanka has a big body hurtbox like Gief, Marisa, and Honda. When these characters are crouching, their hurtbox is wider than normal characters. This means that if you get a punish on a crouching big body, you might have an alternative combo route available. For Blanka specifically, blocking a poorly-spaced slide is an example. I only play Cammy so I only know for her: Instead of your normal meterless punish counter combo of st.HP xx HP Spin Knuckle, cr.LP/st.LP/st.LK xx MK Drill, you can do st.HP xx HP Spin Knuckle, b-MP xx HK xx j, j.MP xx Divekick. This is because HP Spin Knuckle oH usually leaves you +5 but too far away to link your 5f b-MP. But, the wide hurtbox of a crouching big body is fat enough for your b-MP to reach.

Level 1 with chan is not a safe reversal. You can neutral jump always, and chsn won't hit you.

There are also audio cues you can use. Each strength of Blanka Ball sounds different, so when you what light and medium sound like, you can train yourself to react properly.

Cammy level 3 punishes h ball aswell. Guile level 1 actually can whiff depending on when the h ball connects with guile in his idle animation. The "deepness" of moves like headbutt, ball, varies in this game and leads to some weird "rng"

Blanka feel likes one of those characters that gets buffed online with the way his kit is.

Guile VS Blanka is one of my favorite matchups the battle of charging and spacing. Plus both have god tier Level 2 supers.

I agree that Luke is not as strong as Ken. Compared to Ken, Luke has two major weaknesses: First, Luke does not have any effective means to avoid the neutral stage. He does not have the dragon lash kick, his drive rush is not as fast as Ken's (Ken has the third(?) fastest drive rush in the game), he cannot drive rush after OD fireball to beat the opponent with massive damage combo, and he do not have so many setup like using the jinrai kick after the 2MK to delete your meter, etc. Second, Luke is more resource-intensive than Ken. Yeah, his 2MP is better than Ken, Ken's light punch corner carry combo do not need to spend any resource, and his heavy DP is still invincible against fireballs. Third, I believe that Luke's key punches and kicks are not as good as Ken's, except for 2MP and 2HP. By the way, 2MP of Ken is very powerful too, compare with Luke, his 2MP has 6 start up frame(same as Luke), 3 active frame(one more frame than Luke) 14 recovery frame and same attack range(5 small grids) as Luke. If Ken 2MP is so great, why Ken players do not abuse it? Because Ken has normals much more better than his already very powerful 2MP. Ken's 5HP and 5MK have a confirmation time of 19 frames, and they have great attack range. 5MK is 10 small grid long, 5HP is around 8 small grid long, both of them has 19F of hit confirm windows, not only that, they can also be used to set traps and mix-ups. 2MK has a 7-frame startup and a range of 10 small grids. His 5HK is 12F start up with 12 small grid attack ranges. Luke is definitely in the top five, but he is not in the same tier as JP and Ken.

I think they made him OP so that people will play him! He’s like Kano or Styker from MK, an OG without a fandom

Blanka slide needs to be 4fr start up, juggles when you hit opponent, +3 on block and have 7 active frames

1:30 a few other people can punish it like rashid and aki. As well as drive rush uses from weirdly long reaching heavies like chuns kick heavy

Being a Blanka and Gief main since sf2 I never had problems facing him, it is in fact one of my fav matches, but I know how much of a pain he is to deal with, specially for new players. Plus SFVI is without a doubt the best version of the character to date, air blanka ball alone can drive most people mad.

Honestly, i believe blanka is a sleeper top 3. Blanka chan, OD DP wakeup combos in level 2 install, tons of ways to get out of the corner in burnout. He's simply a very very good character

I am forced to main blanka atm. He is at the moment the most that suits my playstyle in the roster atm. I had to wait for alex in SFV, so I expect I will have to wait for season 2 or more in Sf6. Though tbh Sf6 is kind of a weak game, drive rush spam is tedious and just too stupid so I dont play that much. One annoying thing about playing blanka and i bet sims get it too, people often refuse to do a run back. I have some good tech into conditioning the player with him though, he is all mind games with RB and BB, plus his leap through after drive rush can really condition the player to mess up the options. It turns drive rush into a 1 in 5 options, overhead, low, throw, grab or leap as well as when you are doing pressure you can condition them in one way ideally overheads so you can easily get his command grab in block strings. Of course more seasoned players will be able to punish this but with blanka chan you can make it a dangerous mix up. Fun to play mind games with him.
