Virtual gospel quartet, spread over 600 miles but reunited via the miracle of the internet. Clockwise from top left: Ryan McKusick, tenor; Carson McKee, bass; Alex Kastanas, alto; Josh Turner, baritone. song by Blue Highway.
I love the way (Josh's Dad?) comes in,puts his boots on and just walks out, while this Virtuoso sound is being produced like "oh the Genius is doing his thing again, now where's me boots"!
@200000028 My completely unsolicited advice is that regardless of what you do with your life career-wise, don't ever give up making music. It's hardly worth trying to make a career out of being a musician anymore because of how commercial you have to become and how much else you have to give up in order to make a real living from it. But you and many of your friends have talent and I hope you will continue to use RU-vid and iTunes to share your music with the rest of us.
You and your friends all have huge talent and I am happy to have found your site and You Tube listings. I would love to hear the 'virtual gospel quartet' do a version of the Grateful Dead's "Broke Down Palace" (consider that a request?)
Whenever I grow weary of the plastic nature of the current music industry, your page is a sanctuary where the importance of being earnest can be rediscovered.
I guess I'm dumb........but how do you do this?? I've seen other vids like this also....Do you take each persons track, play and record a new one, then pass it on?? You don't do it live, do you???
BRP, you just love it. not everyone can sing BUT singing with others is good for the heart and soul. It inspires courage to sing~OUT. Everyone has a song. Let's hear your, too.
Okay. A minute and 30 secs into this, you guys have proven your vocal blends. I already know that Josh has the instrumental capabilities. If the rest of you can follow him instrumentally, then look to recording contacts. You've got the sounds that American wants. Whether or not you're ready lord only knows.
Perfect! The pronunciation quirks of the old time gospel quartets, with the timed breath and everything, you guys just got it! Almost expect Workin on a Building next, but I think Josh will probably get around to every song on earth in his lifetime. He has a good start!
Having only found you on RU-vid, Im just catching up..... Your music is wonderful, your instrumentals enjoyable, and your voices in harmony are lovable. You've accomplished my pleasure in this song because my name is already written in heaven. Thank you for sharing your talents and hard work. You obviously enjoy music, but you and your fellow musicians are fascinating in the way all of you perform seemingly effortlessly.
Very pretty song guys, I haven't heard it before... great job! Would one of you please send me copies of this song in four (4) separated parts. That is, a copy of the alto part, soprano part, tenor part and bass part? Notes/sheet music or just the isolated vocals. I would like to teach The Church (of which I am a member) that song and the separated parts would be perfect. Please let me know if you can help me. Thanks a million :)
Hi Ryan, Great rendition of the Blue Highway classic! Do you know if Josh was able to find the vocal score? I would love to get a copy for my men's a cappella group. Thanks very much, Brian Cummings
This beautiful recording was played at the funeral of a friend of mine one year ago and even then, made our hair stand up on end. Truly beautiful------truly unbelievable.
