The respect I have for this man is immeasurable. When he speaks, he has my undivided attention, and I have such trust in his goodness that I am willing to make an effort to work toward his ideals for a better world. If he's not our best choice for a leader, I don't know who is!
I wish people would stop saying that our system is 'broken'. It's not broken, it's functioning exactly as intended: as a funnel that takes all our wealth and gives it to the 1%.
The only thing bernie has accomplished is to get a bunch of neo-hippies to go 'Yeah...F*** the rich!" then those same hippies go out to buy their starbucks and charge they iphone and go about their day as normal. What has bernie actually physically accomplished himself to the betterment of mankind? Wrote a book called 'F*** the free market"? He might as well be talking about the boogeyman.
Thank you to Bernie and his team for always providing us with quality content. Thank you Bernie for your resolve. Thank you for keeping the vision for a better future alive and allowing others to be a part of not only the conversation, but also a part of the process.
I swear Bernie manages to speak about issues I care about in a way I respect EVERY SINGLE TIME. We need to figure out how to get more like him into politics.
Vote progressive at ALL elections, starting at the bottom. Those at the top are hamstrung by the fact the power pyramid has more people in seats at the bottom 💜
He's always been adamant about focusing on the issues. He takes his job as a public servant seriously, and I respect that. Too many politicians don't see themselves as public servants, they look down on the public.
Bernie demonstrates he is both an idealist and a pragmatist. He fights for the big things, but knows it is also important to actually get stuff done even if those can only be smaller victories. These measures will still make a difference to the lives of millions. He is exactly what a politician should be.
You're so right! Idealist, yes. Pragmatist, absolutely. After a lifetime, at least 50 years, in every level of politics, Bernie knows what the idiot Magamorons in the House don't realise. Working together, across the aisle, is the best way to get things done, instead of the burn down the House tactics of Gaetz and his fellow rightwing fools. They wd rather stop Congress from doing its job, with their attention seeking antics, which have led to nothing but chaos.
@@LaugeHeiberg”Bernie demonstrates he is both an idealist and a pragmatist” which part did you struggle understanding? Totally unrelated but, welcome to RU-vid, new account! 4 weeks old, only one comment and it’s this one - you’re gonna go far, little buddy 😘
@@pythonxz i know American Nazis are inherently selfish, but.... it would be a completely different world. not just improve your life. it would have improved *The World* American.....that thing you won't rest until you kill, American.
What most people don't know is when Bernie says, "We spend more on healthcare than..." he not only refers to American citizens out-of-pocket expenses but our government pays each healthcare provider *BILLIONS* for just existing and providing care. Therefore, those companies are triple dipping: From our government, from insurance companies (who have been buying up healthcare infrastructure for 20 years), and from you. Triple dipping!
@@brockgan8941 The documentary "Sicko" by Michael Moore was really informative, although you'll probably need to supplement that with some additional resources if you want hard data.
Thank you Senator Sanders for using good sense to help the people of this country. It would be awesome if a few others in government would follow your example- maybe even make it the norm rather than the very few.
You’re the only person in the government I’ve ever seen that talks to the people about what they’re trying to do to the people in common language and not in legal jargon beating around the bush. Thank you my friend
If you think he is the only one talking to us in plain speak, then I highly recommend you listen to RFK Jr. A true man if the people and the best hope we have going forward. Kennedy has my vote. Team Kennedy 2024
Thank you, and love you, Bernie, for speaking up for the people and, yes, healthcare as preventative and more in health departments in the communities.🔥💚💙👍🏻👍👍🏽👍🏿
Bernie is the president we need. Medicare for all takes the "Medical Benefits" BS argument out of Employers argument(s) during negotiations. It wouldn't hold people in unfavorable positions because their health care is tied to their employment. Medicare for all would take daily stress off Americans. Other countries are supposedly poor than the USA but manage to do SO much better by their citizens. THAT to me is a HUGE indicator that the GOP doesn't GARA about Americans/humanity.
I hear you, but I'd argue fighting against political corruption does far more. Political corruption wages wars against unions, AND takes the people's power and gives it to a very few oligarchs. Political corruption gives us environmental destruction, dirty air, dirty water and toxic soil devoid of nutrients. Political corruption gives our money to defense contractors who fail to account for 66% of it, and who use it to pollute and destroy and displace foreigners from their homes. Political corruption makes healthcare extremely wasteful, and siphons our money towards worthless money jugglers like wall street and insurance companies. Political corruption gives mountains of money for pharmaceutical research and then allows corporations to gouge taxpayers for the drugs they funded. Political corruption is why unfathomably rich aholes can dodge taxes and offshore jobs and offshore holdings. Political corruption is the root of ALL our major problems. Both parties are complicit.
Bernie Sanders is the best communicator for many reasons. And I want to thank you very much Senator Sanders for representing our health in this country.
He cares more about America than any other American, ironically making him the least American of all our politicians. Capitalism is a double-edged sword.
It almost brings a tear to eye knowing that this could have been our leader, speaking to us in plain and logical terms, breaking down one of our biggest problems and offering a sensible solution. I hate admitting that this is rare. Thanks for fighting for us even after we've failed you, Bern.
I'm still mad at Hilary for screwing him out of running. I'm pretty sure he would have done much better than Hilary because people already didn't like her just like they didn't like Trump when he first showed up, but due to Hilary being a shitty option it became a lesser of two evils and realistically without having Hilary serve a term as president, we don't really know who would have actually been the worse President.
He insists on some very unpopular positions, though. I understand that he stands by his convictions, but ultimately he still does have to play politics to win big elections. But he can stand by any position he wants to and he will still win his Senate seat.
@@julianvega2677he really doesn’t have unpopular views. Most Americans want Medicare for all but America isn’t a republic so it won’t happen. His “unpopular” ideas are the standard for the rest of the first world (even Canada which is a nation poisoned by american stupidity)
We need the DNC, Pelosi and Jim Clyburn to stop campaigning against progressives like they did against immigration lawyer, pro choice, pro gun control Jessica Cisneros in favor of businessman, anti choice, anti gun control Henry Cuellar in Texas.
As a disabled person in Maine, I'd never be able to afford healthcare or have adequate insurance coverage in my state without Mainecare here, tysm Bernie for fighting so that everyone gets the human right to healthcare that we cruelly disguise as a privilege!
@@Acanofalconpunch I live near the border and am aware of it, and it disgusts me, also that if I wanted to move there, half the time I'd be denied because I'd be considered "too much of a burden"...
its unbeliveable how intelligent and based bernie is and always has been. such a shame we didnt get him or anyone nearly as sane as him in the white house
I believe it's for the lack of common sense the majority of voters on both sides have. It's illogical to keep voting for the government we always end up with.
I kind of wish he would try to bring Williamson to the forefront a little more. If he's not running in 2024 then I think he should push Williamson forward instead. I think Biden having some competition would do him a lot of good and I also think Biden is far too moderate for how broken the US is.
Thank you Bernie for never giving up on the people who need health care, the poor & middle class alike. You deserved to be the President! So grateful for your continued devotion to middle class values. You’re the best of us! 😊
Love you Bernie for your tenacity and caring for all people that need healthcare for themselves and their families. No one fights harder than you for , We, the oppressed and downtrodden, everyday, working people
Yeah, he was unusually sharp for his age during the 2016 election and hasn't missed a step in seven years. Pretty amazing. I'd definitely still vote for him
while that would be amazing, bernie doesn't deserve the disgusting attacks he would get from trump and the maga party, and honestly at this point america does not deserve him.
Thank you, Bernie, for being the President that America needs and doing it from your seat in the Senate! You LIVE your commitment to The People by never giving up. As an Independent, you are the Conscience of the Democratic Party as well as being - year after year - the Most Respected Senator in the U.S. And, I would add, the YOUNGEST- THINKING, most Progressive politician since FDR. 💙
@birchsongsltd.6831 I have never forgiven the DNC for undermining Bernie. I support those who work to help the working people, instead of the wealthiest.
@@vickiereedy4940 I left the Democrats after the Clintons. I've been independent ever since. I wasn't surprised by what they did to Bernie and I too remind them when ever I can.
I’m 25 years old and I’m super into history and I feel like Bernie has the quality’s that our presidents used to possess oh how I wish this country was really free
I have for most of my adult life thought of myself as a textbook conservative: I believe in balancing the budget, staying out of foreign wars and securing our borders...all of those beliefs relative to the circumstances. So I should despise Bernie, but I find he makes a LOT more sense than the purported "conservative" people on The Hill. And Bernie absolutely gives a damn about that vast array of Americans whom the current system has passed by (and continues to do so). I am comfortably retired and have been for over 30 years, but if the government required that I pay more in taxes to help those less fortunate, I would do so without hesitation. And it truly angers me to see those "conservatives" stand up and talk about defunding or crippling the IRS. Just where do they think the money for their salaries comes from? I'm also a veteran of 26 years in the USMC, and I'd love to see a genuine audit of Pentagon spending. The money we save on Defense could be spent on schools, child care, libraries, public transportation and, yes, the IRS. Like Nike said, "Just Do It!"
I don’t think you’re really a conservative. You cite balancing the budget and reducing the deficit. Clinton had three consecutive budget surpluses, the first time that had happened in 50 years. By the end of Clinton’s first term, he had reduced the deficit 25%. No republicans balance budgets or reduce the deficit. Staying out of foreign wars? I can’t remember a time when there hasn’t been a Republican waging war. And securing our borders? There have been record border apprehensions during the Biden administration. That means the border is more secure, and while many are still getting in (because the system isn’t perfect) many more people are NOT getting in.
Tbh, all those ideas are left wing tenants, except securing the border. Which isn't even 100% true because even some people on the left think that the southern border is becoming a little bit of a problem. And everyone on the left hates the housing market being bought out by foreign investors. Which to be fair maybe a bit bipartisan. The solution to the problems are just less insane and inhumane. For example, the left wants to starve out the drug cartels then work with the south to stabilize their economies so all the people at the border WANT to live in their area, and stop risking children's lives trying to cross over. The left also wants an actual system of processing people, that isn't f*cking insane like we have now. The right at the moment wants to bomb Mexico, and finish the wall. (Also this isn't like the left when speaking about any specific politician, this is the left as in the overall ideology, I don't think any politician wants to do what I propose at the moment unfortunately, but if we are going by general world humanitarianism, that would align more with the left. I guess Biden recently signed the "help Workers in Brazil and America" thingy so if you want to look at any politician, or policy going in that direction there you go) The worst part is that America is the reason we have the problem in the first place it is all "personal responsibility" and "consequences" until that "personal responsibility" of not creating coups, putting in sanctions, and funding drug cartels, has the very obvious consequence of people from South of the border not wanting to live in the mess America created. Instead we want to hack saw murder people at the border, and take the scraps for slave labor, instead of idk, fixing the mess we created? When it comes to foreign wars, I agree it depends on circumstance, I think America giving materials to Ukraine is fine, it also isn't like America is the only country helping out, and Russia already openly stated they are willing to get worse, so stopping them now, before things get worse for the world seems like the best call, especially when Putin is insane, is working with China somewhat, borders one of the Nordic countries that is now in Nato, that Russia openly stated they wanted to invade, and both China and Russia has nukes. Other wars that I know America is engaging in at the moment, I heavily disagree with, as well as funding Israel the barely an ally apartied state. Which is almost bipartisan besides a couple of dems, one of which is herself Palestinian. Corpo dems are the ABSOLUTE worst ngl. I am personally not a big fan of the neo-libs/libs, in other countries they are a right wing ideology anyways. Only in America are they considered left. So i guess be careful of that, also be careful of repubs, because right now, a lot of repubs are signing up to be Democrat, and then toting the party line, and then immediately changing all their views and party to become repub. They are getting very desperate. Which is quite scary ngl. Imo, the reason we are in this mess with the right in the first place is because of neo-libs. The right and neo/corpo-dems have many differences... economic policy is not one of them. Which is why I think the parties instead engage in culture war bs to make themselves appear different from each other. It is also why Bernie is a literal godsend, and why he makes sense to many republican/conservatives, he does actually have a different economic policy. Also they did studies that proved that conservatives when asked about their own policy without connecting it to a party thought everything that was proposed to them was demon sh*t. Goodness I f*cking hate America. A really good example of this is Walter Masterson, he goes and trolls Maga and it is SO FUNNY. Highly recommend. The sheer amount of unaware is actual insanity. Also when has a repub ever wanted to balance the budget?? I'm 19 so the only budget balancing I know is right now with the looming government shutdown, and that time the repubs held the dems hostage and walked out during everything. Anyways, maybe the repubs used to stand for those things, but they definitely don't now. I really hope the dems try to ride the Bernie wave, and start to oust the corpo dems, or push them to be the new right wing party yk like literally every other country has. 😖

As someone who considers myself more moderate on some issues, I don't always agree with Bernie, that being said, I have a huge and tremendous amount of respect for him. His integrity is next to none, he has been speaking on the same issues for decades without wavering. He is modest and speaks truth to power. He is also still incredibly sharp mentally. I wish we had been fortunate enough to have a Sanders white house. I look forward to continuing to watch him work for us, the American people
Bernie, you will always be my hero, and I want to thank you for all the work you and your progressive colleagues put in for the poor and the working class. ❤
Love you Bernie. I wish the American could finally get it in their head how the majority of current politicians do not have their best interest in mind when passing bills. You're a gem.
That goes for one entire rightwing party and a whole lotta people somewhere in the middle and left. I wish the people WOULD pay attention, and then they would force politicians to disclose exactly who funds their lifestyles. You will find corporations, of course, but every bit as troubling and then some, foreign adversaries. 🤯
Now, if this isn't refreshing, I do not know what is! It doesn't matter if you are a liberal or conservative. This is pro-people, pro-America. Thank you Mr Sanders!!
Thanks again for all your good work and information on table top issues for the American people: no more please co pays for Medicare benefits and add Vison dental and hearing benefits, prescription drugs should be a good start, thanks again and God Bless 🙏
Wow!! This is huge! The story of Community Health Centers (and Bernie's historic role in expanding them) is the most under-reported story in modern politics. I think he would have won the 2020 primary if it was more widely known. His campaign should have produced a short documentary about it.
This just got passed by the Committee in the Senate. Now it has to pass a floor vote in the Senate, where the Republicans have the power of the silent filibuster, and then pass in the House, where the Kaos Klown Kaucus has the majority. It’s not going to be law until after the 2024 election, and then only if voters get Biden back in the White House and majorities in each chamber, including enough real Democrats and progressive Independents like Bernie to reform the filibuster.
I like this format a lot. Thanks for informing me in your concise, direct, clear-sighted and level-headed way. What you’ve managed in the committee is great.
Thank you Bernie! Keep banging the Medicare for All drum; you've helped expose many folks to the idea of an alternative to for-profit healthcare, in which we currently pay more and receive less desirable outcomes. But it's also great to see that you still work diligently to secure smaller victories where you can.
Thank you, Bernie. I appreciate how you have held true to your beliefs all of these years. Unfortunately, our government has been corrupted by corporate greed. We need someone like you to lead us forward and keep fighting for human rights!
Bernie is one of the last remaining people in government giving me hope. We don't deserve how truly amazing he is. It breaks my heart to know we almost had him as president and we lost our chance to turn things around twice. Guess we deserve the fresh hell that is project 2025. I doubt dems will be able to stop it... okay, no one deserves that, but it's hard to not be upset listening to bernie vs listening to biden or trump. 🥺
