Yep I was just so over being sick, waking up in withdrawals, throwing up, running around and planning my day around a pill. I was unhappy addicted, I was unhappy in life,. Yep just going through the motions, no emotions. I just wanted to live and be alive again. I was getting left behind. Man the amount of holidays I could have gone on. This vid is just so true.

your videos have helped me thru the worst times. ive been sober from opiates for 2 months. the reason i took them was for energy, getting tasks done, and depression. every addict has a story behind why they take them. but noe that ive been sober ive been picking up really awesome hobbies that help me stay occupied. one i want to share is geocaching. it gets you out the house and you get to interact with others and its challenging. i reccomend this to recovering addicts.

The reason that I got Clean, was because I realized that the lifestyle that I was living, with the drugs and alcohol, was about to kill me. Once, you Encouraged me that I could get off of them, I decided that I’d rather risk dying, getting off of the garbage, than to let drugs and alcohol kill me!!! For me it's having the ability to live not chained to a substance, and the time spent acquiring it. Here's an example; I was going away for 14 days to Cyprus, and due to difficulties acquiring anything, I only bought enough to get me through 3-4 days. I still remember spending at LEAST 2 hours a day on holiday (vacation), walking in 40c degree heat (110F+) around Cyprus - even a few kms to the next town - to find pharmacies that would sell codeine based products. Which was weird considering I was there with my wife, her dad & her stepmum, and her brother & his partner. Just to feel 'normal'. But that wasn't even normal, because even once I got back to where we stayed, I just wanted to take them and not really take part in anything so I could entirely focus on maybe feeling something, and you don't think about how weird that looks when you're 'in' it. Same as if I've got a long stretch at work, say 4x 12 hour shifts, knowing I need something before, and after, just to get through it. I never went to dealers - I live in the UK so codeine/paracetamol (acetaminophen) is 'legal' over the counter (32 tabs, 8mg Codeine, 500mg Paracetamol - in theory about 250mg Codeine a pack, but knock some off for loss in cold water extraction) but actually that made it harder than just going to dealer, because it meant finding 12 boxes (usual dose was 300-350mg codeine twice a day)- so 12 different pharmacies, 12 places I hadn't been to in at least a couple weeks (preferably a month - and hoping the staff weren't the same), just to feel a bit of a buzz for an hour or so, then to feel 'normal'. You can imagine the difficulty with that if I'm away for 7 days, or 14 days, like a holiday. After 6 years of that it just becomes incredibly tiresome. Then amount of times I've finished 12 hour shifts, already feeling tired and shitty, just to spend 2 hours finding something just to get through the remaining part of the night and next day. I'm currently day....7 free, after relapsing again in September 2020 - was only clean from May 2020 till then.

I'm tapering off suboxone. You stated my reasons for this taper so perfect. I have no desire to function in a social capacity, my work is suffering and I find no real pleasure in activities i used to love. This is going on 10 years now. I'm totally missing out on life! I'm 45 now and realizing I need to find a new life worth living clean and sober. Thanks for your videos

Yes when I tell people how much I would do a day. They wouldn't believe me so when I was withdrawing and tryna explain I would just say you've never felt it so you think it's dumb or it's not as bad unless you've been in those shoes. So what ever happened to me , I call it a blessing to cause the reason and I'm doing fighting every single day now its for myself and my son and my family . I have to be there to lead him down the rite path. And I'm only 19! I have so much time do change my lifestyle. That's were I kept messing up and relapsing I thought that was gunna be life till I died cause that was my life from the time I wake up till I pass out. And the same thing over and over again that is no way to live no body can possibly be happy like that. That's why I got my wake up call when I did and then my blessing. So I'm fighting hard everyday!

Ryan you have been a god send along with a few more with the odd video I'm from England it's pretty bad with the oxy over here too I'm just on day 2 and from any prescription opiates I can find I do have access to pills but you have gave me inspiration and belief I can do this shit I seriously need off these fuckers and with the help of the missus I'm determined to see this through I get your a busy lad so I understand the slight lack of videos of late hope your well

I have to as ive wrecked my liver, basically i will die if i dont. Still finding it hard though.

Its a good drug for altering the brain chemicals and it does make me angry once taken but I still take it if in chronic pain. I wouldn't give it up for my life
