Ignore all of those folks! What you have is a rough canvas ready to turn into a envious masterpiece. Living within your means is the total way to go. After years of mortgages on large homes my wife and I down-sized four years ago to an older small block home in Florida. We now have no mortgage and no car payments. This has turned into the ultimate blessing as I have been underemployed for five months now and we are still doing just fine. If I still had a mortgage we'd be in a world of hurt. Do not pay attention to those people. It is not super expensive to renovate a small home as long as you do most of the work yourself and pay for upgrades as you go along. Just wait a few years and it will all pay off for you big time as the value of your home skyrockets and you end up with extreme satisfaction know you did the bulk of the work yourself! Take care.

You're right, when I bought a four bedroom house in 2009 for $6000 cash I had friends in New York gasp and ask if it was a typo. But that's how low foreclosures were in Michigan at that time.

You would think people would understand property values differ due to location. 1 acre in California and 1 acre in West Virginia are going to have totally different values. Same goes for a 3 bedroom house.

Dani we moved here to MO and live in a 78 mobile that needs a lot of work. But we have 15 acres and the kids have a house on the property too. It’s a trade off - we bought for the land too!! I think you did great!! Idk why people bother to take the time to spread negativity. You got this and it’s going to look AWESOME when you’re done!! 😊❤

What an amazing find, free free free, the land is worth more than $50,000. Congrats, cant wait to watch your progress. Just FYI if you have a home depot or lowes will donate material that has not sold. And sometimes to just to help people out. ❤

Being on a limited income like myself I would do the same renovation in a heartbeat. You made a great investment. A lot of work and elbow grease. It will be so worth it!

Back in 2005, we came by a similar property on 5acres in NY. Nearly 2 decades later and that place is our retirement account!

I think you did an amazing job! Don't let anyone slow you down! I had critical and negative folks (prolly still do) but just show them wrong girl! Do your amazing plans & enjoy the journey. Check out a few of my videos to see what I did in the first yr in my place. I got there in the Winter so worked on the inside then in Spring started on the outside. Still have several more projects to do but it's come a long way. Congrats! Take pics of your progress!

To give people who don't live in this area some perspective...New Hampshire has many very nice mobile home communities. an older home say from the 1970's in good condition in a community where you DO NOT OWN THE LAND is around 90,000. Newer mobile homes can go from 100,000 to almost 300,000. Even if she burned the house down she got 2 acres in an area where land is very expensive. Also even putting in 20,000 or 30,000 in parts or skills she doesn't have to fix up the home on the land she is still incredibly ahead of the game.

Girl, There are clueless people everywhere, ignore them (I know you will) and prove them wrong. (I also know you will) The Hollar Homestead has a lovely home, he tore down a dilapidated trailer that was on the farm and completely rebuilt it. You have river front property and will soon have a cozy home and farm for 50 thousand !

I think a lot of people just don't have vision, the majority are probably not being mean they just see junk, mess and dirt. I'd love to do something like this. Good luck. 👍

I suspect anyone telling you that you can get that property for $10k is either not being truthful, they don’t understand the market or they meant just the trailer. Personally, I wouldn't pay $5k for that trailer, but when I heard “$50K for two acres on a river” I thought “What a steal!” When I heard you say the $50k was for the land and the trailer just happened to be there, I thought, “Exactly my situation.” I bought my 2 acres for $57k eleven years ago and the dumpy trailer that came with it I considered a bonus that I could fix up. (My manufactured home is a double wide, but it was still a major dump.) You think like me. I bought the land. I took the manufactured dump that happened to be on it and made it a nice home. As I said in a previous video. I had a vision and fixed my place up. You clearly have a vision, see the potential and have the tenacity to make it a reality. Just cleaning out the trash makes it look 1,000 times better. I would guess that the amount of trash left behind is more than just someone moving out and not caring. It's more like someone lived that way. Tweakers? When cleaning you might keep an eye out for possibly dangerous paraphernalia. Just simple things like patching a hole and painting will make a big difference. When I did my renovations I knew one important thing. The only one I have to please is me. I can't wait to see what you do with your place. I don't see a dump. I see a blank canvas. I’ll be watching. You're gonna have to do weekly updates at least. (By the way. Not fair. Meaning the chicken teaser on your last video. I want to know.)

That's true Northeast is expensive. I have lived for a few years in Connecticut and then in Texas... could actually see the difference in cost of real estate. 2 acres is a lot of land...I'm sure you'll definitely be able to do a lot with it. I’m in Northeast Texas and you can’t buy 1/2 acre for less than 90k That’s without electrical pole and water! Or a home 5Ok for 2 acres is awesome
