Been playing guitar consistently for the last 5 or 6 months or so, picked up a bass last week its surprisingly very different from guitar, like having two apples but one tastes like chocolate. This song will be great for learning slap bass, I've always loved that bassline the instant I first heard it.
If anyone is having problems trying to pop the 1st string while doing a constant slap, remember to not rest your thumb on the bass body while trying to pop, just leave your hand on the air. That helped me a ton. Try to copy his hands movements
I start by setting all my bass EQ knobs to center. I do my best to try and just use my right hand technique to control the tone. However, if I need to change my sound, my go-to is slightly boosting the treble on my bass. I hope that helps! Thanks for watching :)
Glad to help!! This is in standard 4 string tuning ( E A D G ). Unfortunately I only own 1 working bass and it is a 5 string Warwick ( B E A D G ). I almost never use the B string in my tab videos. I hope it is not too visually confusing. Thank you for the support and have a good one!
Good eye, that is a Warwick Rockbass Corvette! For compression in my DAW (Reaper), I used Guitar Rig 6 with the preset "FET Bass." It has a VST compressor built into it. When I play through an amp, I use an MXR M87 compression pedal. I hope that helps!
