Somehow, Cobra Kai is Still Kicking 

I think part of the reason Cobra Kai was so unafraid of outraging its audience by subverting long-established character tropes (only to return back to them in the next season) was because there was indeed an audience who wanted to see that. It's like if there existed a substantial audience out there who wanted to see Han Solo lose all the glory of being a war hero and revert back to being a smuggler, or if there was an audience out there who wanted to see Luke regress into a depressed hermit.

I somewhat disagree with Stranger Things. While I do agree that they should’ve killed more characters off in the previous seasons given the stakes of the show (and characters are most likely going to get offed in the finale), but I wouldn’t say it’s devoid of consequences entirely - the biggest example of this being the ending of S4. Despite Max still being alive - albeit in a confusing comatose state - she still died, which allowed for the gate to open and the Upside Down to start leaking into the world. The season literally ends with the characters losing. There’s no wrap-up like there was in the previous seasons and they’re going to have to make some tough choices in the last entry in order to fully stop the Upside Down. Edit: I’m not trying to bash on Cobra Kai (I posted another comment praising the show), nor am I one of those Stranger Things fanatics. I’m simply just stating my perspective because I like Stranger Things. It’s not the best thing in the world, but it’s certainly not the worst if you ask me, and I think some people hate on it too much due to a majority of the fanbase being toxic and/or biased.

The CK writers have already said that the Smith /Chan version isnt part of the Miyagi-verse so they wont ever be in it....probably for the best since that reboot was pure trash

it's called critical thinking, pattern recognition and association. Politics are important and present in almost every piece of media/art. I too think in Cobra Kai ideological discourses are masked by the karate fights, but in the end the values opposed are both functional to capitalism and don't defy current (hegemonic) political or ideological structures. concluding: you shouldn't let an observation bother you to the point of denying there's subtext in media.

I don't get why people think anti-capitalism is anti-Trump. Sure, there might be some overlap, but I believe whatever political subtext that exists in Cobra Kai is less about taking action against certain ideologies and more about trying to find resolution between conflicting ideologies. The show is perhaps alluding to the problems with capitalism, but instead of suggesting drastic measures, it instead hints that there could be a way to cooperate with flawed ideologies. Either way, centrists are probably having an orgasm right now.

I can understand how an anticapitalist could be pro (or not anti) trump but that to me results in meme ideologies (im sorry i had to say it anyway i acknowledge them i guess). About cobra kai being more about "cooperating with flawed ideologies": yes, thats exactly what i was trying to say but the reading of that i do is: if tv show teaches me to be respectful, gives progressive, serves diversity and says greed of (not even money) power is wrong, it's not defying anything unless you're a serious degenerate. I'm not saying this is wrong, i just wanted to let op know they don't have to find unbelievable and borderline inacceptable that people relate series to politics.
