02:37 Probably the most intense and heartbreaking romantic scene I ever saw in a movie or in a TV series. Beautiful setting with the colours and the noise of the forest, and then at some point that melancholic music... So touching with the different emotions. I love Carrie's smile after Brody tells her she makes him feel good. It's like the sun breaks through the clouds.

04:48 In the motel room she kissed him to show him she was there for him. The next moment, Brody had torn off his shirt, tossed it to the floor and advanced at Carrie, pushing her up against the dressing table in one fluid movement. She scrambled at the buckle of his belt. The confusion over how the other was really feeling, the ambiguity over why they were even doing this, Brody's nervous energy and the fact that they both fully expected a SWAT team to blast through the door any second had meant there was no time for niceties. There was no room for anything but the act itself. Carrie had never thought they'd be together like this again. Which isn't to say that she hadn't dared to hope. This was sheer relief, a sudden release of tension. It was serious wish fulfilment and the knowledge that this time could very well be the last time. He made her teeth rattle. She soon forgot any hint of the operation or her strategy to keep it alive. After, they had collapsed on the bed in awed silence, chests heaving. Within minutes, Carrie felt his exhausted forehead pressing on the back on her own head, his arms still draped loosely around her waist, one of his legs entwined in hers, the peaceful breeze of his breath making her hair tickle her neck. In the dead of night, she felt his fingers trail across her stomach again, him kissing her back between her shoulder blades. In silence she had turned around, pushed him down flat on the bed and slowly climbed on top. She moved against him gently, sleepily, barely at all at some points. It could have been a dream. But she knew they were definitely both awake because they had kissed breathlessly all the while in the darkness. He held her hair out of their faces with his bandaged hand. "This is for real.", she had whispered into his ear. When Carrie had come to the next morning, she felt that Brody was already awake. She could hear his mind whirring. She kept her eyes tight shut and sensed him looking at her before he got up, got dressed, took his cell phone off the nightstand and went outside with it. She wondered if he had gone out to call Jess and her heart sank. Maybe things are going back to 'asset and handler' this morning, she had thought to herself anxiously. Carrie had thrown on her own clothes and tiptoed out behind him. He noticed her coming but didn't make to move off or express annoyance at her listening in, as if it had been a private call to his wife. Carrie sighed relief when she got close enough to hear he was speaking to Roya. Things were back on, she hoped, in more ways than one. She was so badly, so hopelessly lost in this that when they sat together on the bench outside their motel room she had wanted time to stop and the world to melt away entirely. Brody had bent his head and planted a kiss on her shoulder, his eyelashes flickering against her skin. Carrie had a sudden vision of a Disney butterfly landing on Bambi's nose. Her heart performed three perfect revolutions in her chest. Jesus. She was seriously concerned for herself, feeling more helpless in the face of this than any of her manic or depressive episodes. "Saul: You have got to give Carrie a chance. She’s turning it around. Quinn: Turning it around? Is that what you think is going on there, really? Turning it around, really? No tell me, really, I’d like your expert opinion is that somebody turning something around or is that a stage five delusional getting laid?" Brody and Carrie... "Love never lets a person be the same. When love arises, all wisdom disappears." Pure truth. “There is recognition between Carrie and Brody. They are two birds with broken wings." these two characters are inexorably attracted to each other because they are equally damaged. Carrie knows how dangerous her behavior can be, especially in close relationships. So she has a great reluctance to become close to anyone - except Brody. Meanwhile, Carrie and Brody think they're playing with each other. They really fall in love and have had Franny ... unfortunately, in Homeland's plot, it's a romance doomed to tragedy. "

00:54 I truly love Carrie’s character and what a passionate complete human she is. Unlike Brody’s wife, she is lot more of a complete woman than poor Brody’s family. 04:15 Carrie and Brody's chemistry was delicious...isn't the same without him. chemistry between actors is essential.why they killed brody? homeland lost the best romance... thier chemestry and sexual tension was and is incredible hot.

03:38 God. Carries eyes just lights up when hes looking at Brody oh she's never loved anyone like shes loved brody. I mean sure shes had a couple of romances after brody passed. Now, he is gotten to be the alpha man in a way Unlike when he was with brody. Brody is damn lucky... its like she gave it all to brody that there is too little left for others. Know watta mean hmm. Hope im makin sense... Its just my personal feeling about it...their chemistry is insane that i actually forget its just a tv series.

“We always knew that at the end, Carrie would be convinced that Brody was guilty. But then the Walker piece of information would come in. She would learn that Walker was still alive, and go, ‘Holy shit. I’ve been interrogating the wrong man. I’ve been suspecting the wrong guy.’ We always knew that twist was going to come, but if you add that romantic part, the fact that Brody actually made a connection with Carrie, the fact that Carrie found herself emotionally attached to this man, and that was all spoiled and ruined by the fact that she falsely suspected him, it was just richer.” -Alex Gansa on the driving force behind “The Weekend” Claire Danes and Damian Lewis gave us, in Damian’s words, “two broken-winged birds sort of hobbling and circling around each other” in Carrie and Brody in such a compelling way that even though it really ended in tears, it was a GREAT RIDE as long as it lasted. And if you miss these two as much as we do, you may want to re-live the LOVE with brilliant Carrie and Brody: Was It Love? Brody hadn't called Jess. They hadn't gathered up their things and gone home like they said they would. There was no firm handshake and no "let's never speak of this incident again". They had just hung out, talked, took a walk. It was nice just being with her. She was a little different today, he thought. Less sure of herself. It could be the mighty hangover, he guessed. They had both sworn never to touch another drop in their lives. She seemed more vulnerable that day. Of course this only made him like her even more. She certainly didn't seem like she was in the mood for picking fights with white supremacists any more, he noted. Thank god for that. He convinced her to stay another night, to see where all this was headed. He offered to help her to straighten up the cabin after 'hurricane Tequila' had struck, drawing a laugh from that wide smile. He pulled his t-shirt down at the neck to show her the mark on his left shoulder where she had bitten him. She acted incredulous but he knew she remembered. Another, slightly nervous, laugh followed. Brody didn't have the energy to go back home and have the inevitable fight with Jess, anyway. This wasn't about settling a score, just because she had something going on with Mike Faber. This was about him throwing off the shackles of everyone and everything placing unreasonable demands on his troubled mind. He had just been released after eight years away, of course he was going to want to cut loose, get drunk and go off the rails a little. Right? He pushed all thoughts of home, of everything else, away entirely and just concentrated on what was right in front of him, in this moment. It felt like a luxury. She had kissed the scars on his chest. Although the sight of it made him shudder with pleasure, he stopped her. Scar tissue knits over wounds so that you are able to carry on. It closes over the sites of injuries so they don't hurt so much any more. But scar tissue is thick, it doesn't have nerve endings in it. You can't feel it if someone touches you in a place where you've already been hurt. He knew that she was only trying to make better what had happened to him. But she couldn't. He didn't want her to focus on what had already been. Brody liked being around Carrie because she let him feel the now and made him feel that now wasn't necessarily all a product of what had happened to him then. It followed that if the present wasn't dictated by the past, then the future wasn't either. This was the feeling of hope he got when he was with her. She made the now count for something and that made him think that he could still be a different person. She looked uncertain. Not so brave now that they were doing this without the invisible cloak of alcohol. If she bit him tonight she'd be fully accountable. There was no pretending. He marvelled at her perfect skin opposite his mauled torso. He looked her in the eye while he slowly peeled her jeans over her hips and pulled her groin level with his, letting her feel just how much he wanted her. Carrie flung her arms around his neck and kissed him deeply, pulling him down onto the bed on top of her. It hadn't been as frantic as the night before, more steady and intense. The bed lurched as they moved together. Brody paused just to fix it all in his memory, he needed to be able to remember this overwhelming feeling of blessed peace clearly. Carrie had asked him if he was okay, if he wanted to stop, probably worried he was having an attack of conscience and that he was going to frustrate her. He could tell that she didn't want him to stop. They looked at each other. Right at each other - into each other, if that was at all possible. Brody decided then that he didn't ever want to look away. Brody started up again, harder this time, and it wasn't long before he felt her breathless body begin to buckle beneath him. He heard her cry out. The noises she made were nearly enough to finish him off, but to distract himself he he bore all his weight on his right fist, clenching the pillow and hiding his face in her neck, unable to look at her again until she had calmed down. He teetered on the brink for a couple of seconds but managed to keep himself from falling over the edge. He didn't want this to be finished just yet. When Carrie had recovered, and her breathing had returned to normal, he touched her face and kissed her softly, his eyes smiling. He said her name. The next time they neared the edge, they fell off together.

02:19 Carrie is a maniac? NOT Because a part of her feels bad for the pain and torture he was put through. She recognizes the fact that he served his country dutifully until his capture, and that he really was subjected to inhumane treatment. He was subjected to it for years at a stretch. This is bound to leave even the strongest of men psychologically scarred for life. In Brody’s case he was broken and Abu Nazir took advantage of his psychological state and groomed him into a terrorist. Thankfully Brody did not blow up the suicide vest, and listened to his daughter, which highlights the fact that there is still some humanity left in him. It shows the audience that he’s not a cold-blooded killer but rather a misguided and emotionally damaged man who just needs to be brought back on the right path. Carrie sees this, and as a result feels sympathy for him. Beautiful analysis on Brody :) He is not a terrorist. He is a person with a broken spirit. They broke his mind, yes, but he was also a victim of "destiny" or fate. He fell in love with Issa. This broke his heart. Nicholas Brody is Dorothy's 3 companions: he lost his heart with the death of Issa (Tin-Man), he lost his mind (after 8 years torture and redemption) and he lost his soul with his actions (Lion). Killing people isn't a solution... well nothing justifies the Vice President for killing all those innocent children either, an eye for a eye. This VP was Actually an asshole I am not saying assholes deserve to die but Brody was a true man compare to him. I am glad this show contains such controversy as killing civilians while chasing terrorists and also breaking civil rights and even human rights. There is never Just an evil and good in War (there is an exception Nazis, fascists, communists and imperial ''nazi'' Japan who were true and pure evil) Now nowadays the situation is way more complicated. Brody: "i liked you Carrie" Carrie: " i LOVED YOU"

I think another important variable is often overlooked: when they are walking together in the forest, she makes mention of when her interpreter was captured and she was being held down... I think they were hinting that she was possibly raped, making her & Brody's connection even stronger, given that both were tortured.

The spy thriller may be coming to an end, now it's more relevant now than ever... Homeland deserves a life after Carrie, and here's why. The show started with a very specific premise, loosely adapted from the Israeli Prisoners of War series: Carrie, an obstinate CIA agent with bipolar disorder, engages in a relationship with American Marine Nicholas Brody, a newly released prisoner of war who may have been brainwashed by al-Qaeda. The showrunner Alex Gansa's series told new stories reflecting the geopolitical situation off-screen: the post-2013 show has been all about contemporary America and its relationship with the rest of the world. The series exploded its original format (no pun intended) and has since evolved to become a mirror in our times, although one that is bigger than life. And it has become a more substantial and more interesting drama since it abandoned some of the more familiar tropes of espionage and began to plunge into the seriously obscure world of government policy and international relations. So to end Homeland at a time when real-world politics is becoming increasingly unpredictable and volatile seems short-sighted. There is an opportunity now to tell exciting and complex stories about an America that is seriously divided, from the man on the street to the highest reaches of the government. The problem, of course, is that characters like Carrie, Brody, Saul and Quinn are over. Now is this really a breaker? Today's Homeland looks and feels very little like the show that first hit our screens in 2011, with not only a radically altered premise, but also an almost entirely different cast. Undoubtedly, the veteran of the Danes series is brilliant in Homeland, as are Mandy Patinkin as her conflicting mentor Saul Berenson as well as Damian Lewis as the marine complex Nicholas Brody and agent Peter Quinn (Rupert Friend). Losing Carrie and/or Saul would have a significant impact, now arguably no more than losing Brody, or later Rupert Friend as the troubled CIA black ops Peter Quinn (two characters really so loved by fans). Losing these key characters (Brody and Quinn) was a huge blow to Homeland, luckily the show resisted, changing and growing in the sequence. The same would happen with any match in the squad, even Carrie's. Homeland reinvented itself before and could do it again. Now we know how Gansa and his team of writers have been plotting the show's conclusion since at least 2017, chances are we won't see the TV show explore a new format without actors Danes and Patinkin at the forefront. This does not mean that the show could not go on without either or both. Because, if nothing else, this difficult period in the history of America offers opportunities for cinema and TV - and especially political-minded programs like Homeland - to deliver challenging and provocative stories. That’s why Homeland should do a 9th season without Claire Danes as Carrie We can say that Brody was one of the best-built characters in history - alongside Carrie, Saul and Quinn. It would be possible to clarify the following doubts: - Would you like to see Homeland reveal how the CIA explained Brody in Iran and his death to the American press? - Clearly, Javadi's ability to receive credit for Brody's capture helped his cause in Iran, but did the US government reveal Brody's role in Akbari's murder? - Was your name cleared for the CIA attack? I'd love to know what you think. - Another loose thread: Paul Franklin and the murder of the "real" CIA bomber. He ended up doing that scene ... why ?? Carrie was publicly humiliated, beaten, doped, shot and put her life on the line countless times without hesitation, just to make others see Brody as she saw him ... and she succeeded. Abu Nazir, the CIA, Jessica and the show's own audience, no one came close to seeing Brody with the clarity Carrie has always seen. Carrie has always read Brody like no one else. Ah, Carrie's dialogue with Javadi was incredible, it will be one of the most memorable moments in the series, without a doubt! “And what you wanted, which was for everyone to see what you see in him. That happened. Everyone sees it through your eyes now ... ” - How did Carrie see Brody? and how did the US come to see this? It's the world?

1:37 “There is a scene in that weekend episode where it was really challenging. It’s kind of this romantic weekend that turns into an interrogation, and it’s really elaborate and layered and way too much was going on, and ultimately, Brody puts a gun to Carrie’s head. And when that happened my adrenaline just spiked and actually my heart was-I couldn’t breathe. And it was good for that take and good for that moment, but then my body took over and the opposite occurred: everything dropped and all of my senses were totally dulled. And I had the whole other half of the day to do the rest of the scene where I was supposed to still be at that pitch and that adrenalized but my body wasn’t allowing me to go there. I think my imagination just got really tripped up, when a gun went to my head I stopped being able to differentiate pretend from reality.” -Claire Danes on “The Weekend”

Here's why Homeland should do a season 9 without Claire Danes as Carrie. The spy thriller might be coming to an end, but it's more relevant now than ever. After eight years, dozens of wild twists and more than a few significant character exits, Homeland will be drawing to a close in 2019. Earlier this month, Claire Danes confirmed that she plans to put Carrie Mathieson to rest after 12 final episodes. So that's that... right? Except, it doesn't have to be, and, we'd argue, it shouldn't be. Homeland deserves a life after Carrie, and here's why. The show started out with a very specific premise, loosely adapted from the Israeli series Prisoners of War: Carrie, a dogged CIA agent with bipolar disorder, becomes involved in a relationship with US marine Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis), a newly-freed prisoner of war who may have been brainwashed by Al-Qaeda. In a bold and risky move, Homeland blew up its original format (no pun intended) just a few episodes into its second season. It dispensed with the Brody character altogether a year later and has since evolved to become a mirror on our times, albeit one that's larger than life. Series boss Alex Gansa has suggested that a time jump in the upcoming season eight will help the show avoid any direct references or parallels to Trump. But since it dropped Brody, Homeland has told new stories by reflecting the geopolitical situation off screen: from a plot concerning allegations that Iran was 'cheating' on its nuclear deal to introducing a right-wing shock jock character in Brett O'Keefe (Jake Weber), the show post-2013 has been all about contemporary America and its relationship with the rest of the world. Though the buzz around the show has undoubtedly faded since the early days, it's actually become a more substantial and more interesting drama since it ditched some of the more familiar spy-thriller tropes and begun delving into the seriously murky world of government policy and international relations. So to bring Homeland to a close at a time when real-world politics is becoming increasingly unpredictable and volatile feels short-sighted. There's an opportunity now to tell gripping and complex stories about an America that's seriously divided, from the man on the street to the highest reaches of government. The problem, of course, is that Danes is done with playing Carrie. But is that really a deal-breaker? The Homeland of today looks and feels very little like the show that first hit our screens in 2011, with not just a radically altered premise but also an almost entirely different cast. Unquestionably, Danes is brilliant on Homeland, as is fellow series veteran Mandy Patinkin as her conflicted mentor Saul Berenson. But that doesn't mean the show couldn't go on without either or both of them. Losing Carrie and/or Saul would have a significant impact, but arguably no more than losing Brody, or later Rupert Friend as troubled CIA hitman Peter Quinn (So incensed were these angry fans, demanding that the show's creators explain themselves.). Losing those two key characters was a blow to Homeland, but a blow that the show withstood, changing and growing in the aftermath. The same would be true of any cast departure, even Carrie's. Homeland has reinvented itself before and it could do so again. But seeing as Gansa and his writing team have been plotting the show's conclusion since at least 2017, odds are that we won't get to see the show explore a new format without Danes at the forefront. And that's a pity. Because, if nothing else, this difficult period in America's history offers up opportunities for film and TV - and especially politically-minded shows like Homeland - to deliver challenging and provocative storytelling.
