It would be sick if we could do 2v2 ship battles in faction vs faction gameplay. like the current 1v1 stuff. Or more island fights like the pirate book featuring Jim something that sot is based off. lairs.

I want Umbra to leave Lagoon of Whispers and travel the outposts, new spot every day. Pirate Tattoo artist is such a cool concept, of course she knows everybody. But her shop is redundant and annoying with Keg Skeleton spawns

The NPCs in this game are highly uninteresting and one dimensional (aside from the main characters ofc). The only way they can make it into a proper pirate town is by allowing pirates to roam around it, but then who's gonna be wanting to do that? I'm hoping the "social options for crews" they were thinking of is a way for pirates to log in not on their ship but on NGS and get the opportunity to interact with other crews, play minigames, tell stories of piracy and make seedy deals with one another, all the while pirates can come in and sell their loot unheeded. Kind of like a safe zone of sorts, but other crews playing Adventure can still come in and steal your plunder

@Safou Rgardpa yeah I like those features you mention, but I feel like the old arena island would be better for all this stuff, I think all golden sands needs is npcs wandering about perhaps having an option to trade with them or they can give you mini quests to get them an item for money in return, even animals wandering around the streets would be neat

A safer zone is a great idea. But gamified rather than enforced by the software. A “town guard” that materializes in waves to break up any fights and mans cannons to fire at any ships that fire theirs.

​@@Louis13XIII mechanically speaking, the only faction that have cloth and planks (materials for construction) is merchants, I think

@@Louis13XIII during lost sands, merrick would take crates of fruits and planks, which would contribute towards saving golden sands. the merchants indirectly supported GSO through this, as they would sell wood and fruit crates at the time, full to making them ready for delivery immediately. this was generally how I contributed to the effort, often delivering 10 crates per session.

That would be cool. A giant island/land mass needs to erupt around it and access via a "river" route. Like Tortuga. Open up the tavern (I've never actually gotten to experience it)

I hope it might be some sort of athena hideout like the reapers hideout but for athena, but I doubt it because athena is in every tavern already

yeah, can't exactly reverse a ship (well you can with harpoons, but it's tedious and imprecise)

It's possible that this space will be where the ship spawns and will not be meant to be parked afterward. A good place to leave, but not a good place to enter; you know?

Dry Docks are used to build or perform large repairs on ships. We probably won’t use it during game play

would be neat. would also give them a lot more start and end points for new tall tales and such. though i doubt that the idea of an NPC hitching a ride on your ship would be likely. but perhaps the guy instead asks you to go to an outpost, talk to the barkeep, and arrange a barrel of grog to be sent to the bar at NGS.. (though if the devs want to add a normal "barrel of grog" to the commodities and such the merchants sell, would be neat. add some more variety to the merchant runs, and it would be nice to have some cargo for those that doesn't need constant tending. (though perhaps they'd have some downside. like say exploding like a blunderbomb if shot and setting stuff on fire. so you'd have to be extra careful moving them)

I absolutely love this idea. I’ve seen quite a lot of players talk about wanting something like this. Plus, this would add more life to the game and make it feel more alive!

That is what im thinking too, that would be s time saver.

I have a sneakign suspicion it will be a moving perimeter of ghost ships around the island that you need to destroy from on the island. There are tons of vantage points, and the top of the tavern has canons in the making. I fear this will just be spanish forts 2 electric boogaloo where there's great potential for flag capture mechanism (liek what we did to vote pendragon or flameheart) but then it's mostly left alone after people grind out their commendations.

Problem with tall tales is that if they add a tall tale to an island they can't change the island in the future as it would break the tall tales

There’s an argument to be made for both. Adventures are more impactful, and as time limited events, they have the ability to change the story through community choice.

I’ve literally wanted this for ages lol. Hopefully it will happen in the future. Plus the original plans for season 9 was to add more social options for crews…

Or leave it as it is.. but when you approach GoldenSands you can pay to "dock" your ship and any approaching ship that tries to attack it gets attacked by the Fort via cannon fire. Thus other players would engage more with the area and all hang out in the tavern and drink together !!

that could be nice.. it can be annoying when me and a friend are halfway through a quest, only to have a third friend want to join us. forcing us to either make them wait or drop the quest and restart.

most of the old adventures could easily be redone into tall tales, IMO. the only ones that couldn't was shrouded islands (due to the special across the map effects) and Lost sands (due to the special missions and items) pretty much all the others are already basically tall tales, structure wise. forts of the forgotten would need tweaking to make it an "on call" rescue of the prisoners rather than than them just being the default, but you could set up a quest version easy enough. "go to such and such seaforts, and rescue the following prisoners" edit: shrouded islands might be workable if the storyline is set up similar to the end of "the siren's prize", where the dark mist only appears around the island when you start that part of the quest.

nah.. just add harpoon ammo for the cannons, that does extra damage vs megs and the kracken. most harpoon guns used in whaling were just regular rifles or cannons using specially made harpoon ammo, historically. (the smaller man portable ones were usually converted muskets and later shotguns, while the big ones on the ship decks started as small muzzle loading cannon, and as cannon technology improved, adapted to use whatever new features would benefit them.)

As much as I want to disagree I just can't. Rare just isn't going to give us stuff like that
