@@yumbo5515 same here, right as he was about to say it i took a quick glance at comments before going to the next video and he says it at the exact same time
Pro Tip 2: You can throw empty glass bottles to leave a pile of broken glass, which act as a trap that you can safely walk over, but the enemies can’t. It inflicts enough bleeding damage to take away 1/3 of a Savage’s health. Placing a bear trap & then tossing a bottle onto it will normally kill or near kill a Savage.
HanoiTower I highly recommend toying around with things in this game; like you can drink the alcohol, it’ll heal you a bit but disable running and give you tunnel vision. It’s really impressive honestly
Don't forget the matches, you can make a gasoline trap at night, prepare the gasoline on the ground or a wide circle around you, and wait with a match stick in hand, throw and watch those things burn.
@No More Room in Hell is a great Source modification I think the protagonist just got infected by the plauge and the doctor mutated him with the syringe meaning the protagonist can't speak but doesn't need to sleep eat or drink but really wants to eat mushrooms
@No More Room in Hell is a great Source modification no everyone is fucked and getting mutated with time doctor had nothing to do with it he was already fucked up
@@lindylou538 he was already like that the injections were probably some kind of thruth serum the doctot is just a dumb doctor trying to leave he has knowledge of what is happening or know how to make it better or worse, he is just a guu
@No More Room in Hell is a great Source modification well infected can't talk anyway because the trader can't talk but we don't about the infection that much
I have watched Mark since late 2013 and have even watched some of his 2012 let's plays. He doesn't make full playthroughs of games that often anymore and him making a full playthrough of Darkwood, one of my favorite horror games, satisfies me a lot.
Pro tip: There’s quick attacks Mark; they use more stamina but they can dish out an attack immediately without needing a charge. Look at your key board controls or “Help” on the pause menu for it.
Yeah when mark was looking at his key bindings I was hoping he would see that option too. Wish he did quick attack is very effective on quick enemies or when you're outnumbered.
It's really cool Mark is so into this game, his description at the begining is how I felt the first time I played Darkwood. The further into the game you go, the scary and more tense it gets, but I also found that the game continued to get intriguing as well. I wanted to know what was in the next area, what was hidden in the swamps, what's at the bottom of the well, what is the wolfman really up to, etc.
@@vaxyr yeah I finished it, the ending is the peak of the intrigue, you begin to understand the context of what's going on but there's an even greater mystery at the center of it all.
@@9622paige This a super late comment lol, so sorry about that. The joke here is that it doesn’t matter that it’s your place, the Wolf could easily kick you out of it and make it his.
In a literal sense, not particularly, when I was in the CCC we shoveled our shitty cheap shovels so sharp you could shave with it. Lol, but that's just me being literal about this
It's weird how having an NPC with you, even one that is vaguely neutral about the situation and isn't actively helping you like the Wolfman here, still greatly alleviates the tension about as much as having an actual person in the room with you would.
Hes not the only one.. i gave away the key to someone else by mistake and facepalmed hard after i saw what i did. Auto save happened afterwards and i was pissed.
No someone says it wasn't in his first episode or something someone comments it and it was not from the light it was in the window they can see through the window so that's why they are attacking cause they can see him through the little hole on the window if he goes besides the window there might be a chance that they won't attack him.
@@kuystalheim5427 it does but it is lie that ppl keep spreading since forever but its not a thing it never was and it never will still ppl keep saying this bullshit since 2014
If Mark is going to have a second playthrough, I hope he reads the comments for tips. Like, use the underground tunnels for instant travel to your safe house.
Looks like he want to figure it out by himself since he didn't mention (in his videos) that he wants his audience to give him protips, but I hope he sees yours
@@abbycoreson7766 Do you have a steam account? Add me, it's the same username and profile pic. I can give you some tips without spoiling too much of the game.
I can see why you love Darkwood, the atmosphere is so darkly entrancing. There's so much to explore but hardly any of it is explained, the devs did a good job of making the player assume the worst of humanity.
Mark: Sees weird tentacles sucking out of a trapdoor. Also Mark: Aquires an axe that specifically says its a formidable weapon. Also, also Mark: Doesn't immediately equip the axe and gets mauled to death.
Lol 🤣 like the time I played TWD SS . Gameplay therapy: I got alot of artillery I'm ready for anything Zombies: wonder how he taste Gameplay therapy: I got no fucking weapons I'm fucked *panics*
Everybody in the comments: Mark, please, put the lights away from the windows, it attracts monsters Mark every single night: _HEY FOREST, LOOK AT MY NEW _*_LAMP_*
Mark seems to be confused by the charred corpse in the house at 26:13. To explain briefly, when the villagers were infected with the plague they relied on the only doctor that was around, the same person that kidnapped the protagonist. Since there was no cure for the plague, the doctor was blamed for its spread. It seems like what happend in that house is that one person contracted the plague, and the doctor prescribed remedies that obviously wouldn’t work (like sauerkraut juice), and to “keep the patient warm”. Therefore the patient was chained to the oven and was literally cooked to a crisp. This may have been deliberate since burning infected humans as well as livestock and buildings was practiced to prevent the spread of the plague.
Here is just some quick tips that you might need in your gameplay. Enjoy ;) you can thorw bottles at night to shatter glass that wont hurt your self but will cause great damage to the enemies if they step on it. you might soon wanna get a shovel since its way better than nail board. Also if you choose to help the wolf man he will grant you stuff along the way like rifles, pistols maybe even the best melee weapon withc is an axe. in the villages you can enter a large hole. That will give you a short cut directly back to your base. for each hide out it will be harder than them in the previous sones. for each difficulty you will gain more reputation and the oven will be more sufficient . place your lamps in the corners so less light will come out of the window and atract the savages. You might wanna put both lamps in your room since one of them might go out once in a while and that would leave you vulnerable to demons. You can drag wardrobes outside and place them in front of the windows this will minimize the light comming from the window so you wont attract savages. It might also make the path finding hard for the enemy AI's or maybe even get them stuck. Might edit in more tis later even though i think your doing a great job :D Keep up the good work Mark!! Edit: posting the stuff again that Mark hasnt noticed
Please don't stop this series. Its one of the few times I've ever watched a RU-vid video and then when it finished, said "NOOOOO! IS THIS THE MOST RECENT EPISODE?!"
Everyone should know by now, neither Mark nor Jack like backseat gamers lol, of course he's avoiding the comments that rips the fun out of figuring out the game
Ok so regarding the guy living with the burnt corps, saying “he said it had to be done” i think he took the instructions left by the doctor literally. It says “keep the patient warm” so i think he set the poor sap on fire 😩
Just to make sure you understand once you get that key you'll be able to give it both to wolf and musician so don't just directly show the key to one of them before deciding
Ashley Dossett you give him the key and then when you get to the old woods you will meet him in a barn ruin and he will give u a hunting rifle for giving him the key which was to get his girlfriend or sister back I’m not sure which one it was but yea
I kept wondering if I need to put on my glasses (I normally use them for nighttime driving or reading) ... my brightness is all the way up and I have it zoomed in.
Mark's enthusiasm of the game's mystery reminds me of the first Gears of War game. It gave very few answers to the bizarre, post-apocalyptic world it threw you in.
I love how he received the crayon drawing with all of the stuff he's keeping in his table and never once made the connection that the guy building the rocket wants them! XD
Mark (alone): Ahhhhhhhh! Whyyyyyy!!!!!! Mark with wolfman:Hello kind sir, would you like to share a bottle of alcohol in such a beautiful night. Ah thank you for the wire though.
I have a soft spot for the musician. It's kinda amazing he's been able to survive as long as he has, because he's pretty alone, and not very strong. That, and lil' dude isn't what I would call "street-smart" ( and actually, some of his character hits me in the personal feels a lil, because I'm neurodivergent, and there are aspects about him that's... idk... familiar in a depressed way), but at least he seems to be able to hunker-down when he needs to, and can catch and eat rodents. I know I can't actually comment much on his character besides that though, because even if something isn't specifically stated it could still be a sort of spoiler.
Never in all my life have I ever thought the word Splodie-bodies could ever exist. But Mark surprises us again with his peculiar made up words. (And I didn’t even mention the higgy piggies)
Wolfman stayed for the show, watching his new favorite toy flail through the night in a desperate bit to survive, knowing nothing in these woods would dare so much as get mud on his pelt.xD
It makes me so immensely happy this playthrough is still happening! It has been the highlight of my past few days, really I adore this game and you playing it and seeing it the way I do is just phenomenal!! Love ya Mark!! You're the best!
Loving this series a lot. I never bought Darkwood because I don't like to be scared, but watching it played is almost like seeing a movie so I might buy it once the series is done.
Dear mark, Thank you for everything u've done.. I got sort of a problem with my handwritings.. My mom punished me that i cant play anymore... Uhm.. I wrote this during online school and uh.. Thx for everything u've done. I will remember what u said. I will try to stay strong fighting against depression and other things as strong as i could.. Thank you mark.. God Bless You
SPOILERS IN THIS COMMENT’S REPLIES Mark you’re missing quite a lot of stuff like the wedding, there’s so much more to this game and it’s in depth lore if you slow down a bit. I didn’t move to the second area until day 10 there was so many areas I searched
The fact that you can't see everything makes it even worse when you're playing it. I've only had the game for a few days, and I've already lost count of the times I had a mini heart attack during the night when I hear a door open somewhere in the hideout that I can't see. It doesn't help that my combat skills are all over the place. I die to every random savage like my bones are made of glass, but I somehow survived a banshee attack in an enclosed room with just a nailbat by running around like a freaking lunatic and flailing wildly. Every time I hear the slightest noise, my immediate thought is 'welp, time to die'.
I can't get over how comforting it is to hear his intro every video. When I'm most stressed, I hear that familiar "my name is Markiplier" I sometimes want to cry with affection. Idk what I'm saying. Just thank you Mark.
