Big "Beefy" drum sound. Love your descriptions Nick! I never thought drums to be "beefy" till I heard you say it. And I must agree you're spot on, as usual :) Yeah, Sonor make some well made pretty killer sounding drums. I think they do stand out as "unique" sounding compared to other drums. Really nice.

I'm from America and I think this german company makes the best drums out there period. Aq2 is their more affordable line.

I really think Zildjian Custom A cymbals are the most "musical" of cymbals, still to this day. Very bright, cut through anything, but fade nicely so not to be overbearing. They are also some of the easiest cymbals to mic no matter where you are playing. I started with Zildjian Custom A cymbals on my first kit, and they are* still my cymbals of choice 30 years later. (yes, I spent more on cymbals than I did on drums my first drum set). I never want my cymbals to sound like trash can lids, and most of the "entry" level cymbals sound just lke that, trash cans. lol.

SQ2 kits are so detailed: exact sizes please, and ... are those 'vintage' maple shells on this kit?

If you pause at 1:40 you can see the reinforcement rings on the inside of the shells, indicating that it's the vintage configuration. It looks like 8x7, 10x7, 12x8 rack toms, 14x14 and 16x16 floors toms. Kick could be 22x17 or 22x18.

This drum brand and these drums get so much hype yet I’ve never heard of drum set. That sounds good, so I’m not really sure what everybody is talking about and why they are even talking it’s like they feel like it’s something they have to say because the sound is not there, and for the amount of money they want for these drums it’s completely ridiculous over priced in overhyped that is Sonor

I usually prefer no tom mount on the bass drum at all, though I can live with most of them if I have to, but that thing.... what have they done those crazy Germans, did they put a Panzer's turret on the bass drum ?!?!?! (I'm just joking and in fact I think both, the kit and Nick, sound amazing, yet I still do find that piece of harware in particular "a bit" exagerated...)

Crazy thing is, it doesn't penetrate the shell at all.You can remove the whole thing if it never exsisted.

Very nice! See how he’s not hitting the drums overly hard! Firm but not bashing. When you bash you look like a savage idiot and people won’t want you touching their kit.
