May I suggest Wintersun - "Sons of Winter and Stars" and "Time", both from the Sonic Pump Studios live rehearsal session? Lead singer, composer and allround genius Jari Mäenpää elevates singing while playing the guitar to another level 🤘🏻

GLS is many of our "first" songs by Nightwish. As such, it holds a special place in our hearts because YES, it is incredibly good, but also because it was our starting point in enjoying this fantastic band. It is #1 in the initial triumvirate BIG NW songs. #2 is The Poet and the Pendulum, and #3 is Greatest Show on Earth. The order is by concert date: 2013 Wacken, 2015 Wembley, and 2017 Tampere. That's not to say that there aren't a dozen others that could end up being your favorite. For #2 and #3 (but especially #2), best to do some research first to understand the import and meaning behind the songs.

Nightwish has been around since 1996, and I feel like until 2012 they were just preparing for Floor to join

Jukka really nails this song with his killer drumming...and Marco also sings and plays bass....The album version is with the poem in the end...check that to understand this masterpiece of Tuomas better. It is impossible to find a not good song by them but yes...GLS is the most grand one can imagine.

The songs that will beat Ghost Love Score are their 2 even grander epics; "The Poet and the Pendulum" (Wembley 2015) and "The Greatest Show on Earth (Wembley 2015 or Tampere 2015). And to your comments about Marco dual-tasking, there's a point in 'Poet' where he's singing and you can clearly see just how complex what he's doing on the bass is at the same time, without even looking. While I guess technically he's not godlike at either singing or bass playing alone (not an insult, he's still incredibly talented at both), when he can do his level of both at the same time with ease, that makes Marco godlike.

ghost love score is also one of my first nightwish song loves (tho i first heard it ages ago when i was like a young teenager before floor who brought new life into it live as you saw). I would say the other songs that can compete with it in terms of epicness are poet and the pendulum (at wembley live) or the greatest show on earth (at tampere and i suggest with lyrics because the story is great and can be hard to understand). All nightwish songs are marvelous but these are longer, epic, talent-showing songs that tell the most complete stories.

Sure ... singing and playing any instrument is really hard! I surely couldn't do it! Wanna see a singing drummer then? Check out The Warning. Dust to Dust or Narcisista feature the drummer singing main vocals. Usually the guitarrist sings main vocals though. Oh and don't let the fact that they're three sisters from Mecixo of 20, 18 and 16 years stop you. They rock! Also: nice reaction! Awesome song! Epic ending! 🤟😊

So... I've listened Ghost love score in all it's iterations, into the fucking ground. For me it's replacement is Dead Boys Poem Live at Buenos Ares 2018. or it could be called, How To Build a Better Ballad, by Floor Jansen.

I agree with you that it’s difficult to surpass GLS, also my all time favourite. But, Poet and the Pendulum is at least as awesome. And of course, there’s so many other great songs, like Seven Days to the Wolves, Shudder Before Beautiful and from their new album Human Nature, The Tribal and Endlessness are just amazing. But I guess, old loves -and especially the first loves - die hard. 😊

If you are a fan of Foo Fighters maybe some day you should check the band Northward. It's a side project of Floor Jansen with his friend Jørn Viggo Lofstad of Pagan's Mind. It is interesting as Floor for me has the best straight tone in modern female rock / metal singing and because of that her vibrato is able to be used for the emotional impact whereas most singers especially these days either have a poor straight tone or they over use vibrato in funny little runs and trills and unnecessary ornamentation (looking at you wannabe pop divas!!) just because you can doesn't mean you should and less is often more and all those sayings apply really well to Nightwish and Floor's singing.

you listening to high level musicians shes done rock metal opera classical school for years in the netherlands kind of the same for the rest of the band in finland there is songs competition they are differents songs thats all otherwise (be boring ).thats the difference with other metal bands

Loving video until he said foo fight one of the best rock bands. Because in my ears most of there songs sound extremely bland, boring, monotonous. Some really huge bands. I just don’t get it. 1 example Pearl Jam.
