One of my fave goth type bands. Whole album is solid

Wow! Clan of Xymox! I really recommend their song "Back Door" And yeah the early Clan of Xymox was gothy new wave. (self titled and medusa) Later they just called themselves Xymox and were straight up new wave. (twist of shadows and phoenix) In the 90s they had a bit of an identity crisis and couldnt figure out what sound they were (metamorphosis and headcloud) then they went back to Clan of Xymox and went much more goth/darkwave (everything else)

I'd never heard of this band until recently, I think this would of been good in the film pretty in pink

i saw them life in 1985 with this album here in Germany. I still listen to them.

Clan Of Xymox is one of those bands that don't really have a signature song, but made a lot of good music. The Medusa album IMO is a little better than their debut record. If you review another one of their songs, I'd try Louise off that album.

"Subsequent Pleasures" was Clan of Xymox's first album, with just 500 copies released. It has since been re-released in larger quantities. Only Ronny Moorings remains as one of the original members. Over 40 years later, this band still tours the Americas and Europe. There are three albums (under the single name "Xymox") that are not considered part of the Clan of Xymox catalog: "Phoenix" "Metamorphosis" and "Headclouds."

I love that you did this group again. But I will add as a Moxer from the beginning I highly suggest you pick a track from Twist Of Shadow anyone of them. If not the entire album. It was their first big budget production album with mercury. They only survived one more try with them until it was back to low budget studios. All in all you can’t go wrong with early Clan of Xymox/ Xymox. New group/old group suggestion. The Chameleons UK did break to become Sun and the Moon. INCREDIBLE ALBUM!!! Give it a try. Interesting selection. I actually heard this years ago. They had quite a few good songs but I don't remember the titles.

“Obsession” - album version is probably my favorite Xymox tune. I walked into a local music store in 1988 and it was playing overhead. Been a fan ever since. Was in a short lived Elektro/Industrial band (Search Backspace Detroit on RU-vid) in the late 90s and got to open for Xymox once.

Nice to see XYMOX on you channel, the first three albums are memorable and still sound fresh.

They remind me of Sisters Of Mercy, which was a frontrunner Gothic band in the 80s, perhaps the Gothic band. Never cared much for Xymox, though. Apparently It's a one man band or so It was at the beginning and the guy was super young, like 15 or something when he released that. Also he was very prolific, having released countless album, too many to keep track, and most of it not very relevant, in my opinion.👎
