When I was in NY for his concert I met Dears from all over the world, but it wasn't meeting someone for the first time, it was like running into a best friend you hadn't seen in a while. For three days there were absolutely no barriers between us. It didn't matter the race, color, creed, or language (we just figured it out), etc we were family. One of Dimashes nickname is "Prince" he really behaves like a prince. He's kind, polite, generous, humble, grateful, respectful, funny, smart, shy...all the superlatives I could throw aren't enough to describe how much I love, respect and admire this man. He's a very worthy artist to follow and I'm so proud of him. He currently has fan clubs in 155 countries, 8 millions of followers in Weibo ( Chinese Twitter) and 3,3 mill in IG but I truly believe all those followers are REAL, not like those mainstream artists that buy followers, likes and views that's the big difference, of course is not enough we need to take him to the top because he really deserves that. Thanks for your support to our prince Dimash.

Hey! So let me fill you in a bit. So you will hear people say that China couldn't let a foreigner win. But, I don't think that's the case. China completely embraced Dimash. Not only did he have 2 OST for movies before he left this competition, he went on to win 7 or 8 awards in China. Did multiple tv shows, appearances, concerts, modeling, commercials and did two original songs for video games as well. All this in just 2017 following his 3.5 months on the "Singer". The person who won the singer was a 51 or 52 year old woman by the name of Sandy Lam. I would say she was talented, but nothing that would compel me to seek her out. So I'm assuming you understand that this completion was for already established and famous singers in China. All of them were artists with a solid fan base. All of them spoke and sang in Chinese which was the language of the 500 people in the audience who voted at the end of the night. So Dimash was a complete unknown in China, he didn't speak their language, and culturally he wasn't Chinese. However, Sandy Lam in particular was BELOVED by this country. She was the equivalent to....I don't know.... Diana Ross or someone of that caliber. On the very first night of the competition when Sandy Lam walked out on stage, the audience chanted "Goddess, goddess, godess..." Even the other competitors in the competition loved her. She was an icon. That being said, Dimash and Sandy Lam were neck and neck the entire competition. Yeah he came in second but all he really missed out on was a Trophy. He got what he came for. He won the hearts and minds of a HUGE audience in China. Practically came away with instant stardom. Got a multitude of offers, a ton of recognition, and it launched into a million projects. And by this show reaching billions of people, he established a solid and growing fan base that is unbelievable. So yeah.... I say he basically won the thing. Also, he came away from that show having befriended all the other artists on it. Dimash has this ability to make all the people around him that he works with love him, help him, and want to protect him. People respect him so much yet he is very kind, humble and giving. So he also came away with strong friends that started as his competitors. Next song in the series is an English song! Dimash does Queen's "Show must go on" . You haven't even begun to see all of Dimash. Sooooo much more to see that will surprise you. Keep going and take us with you!! Thanks for the video!

Yes, RU-vid is really a blessing in that case. So Dimash has the chance to capture many people in this way. Dimash and his music is really very special. But it is not just that. Those who find out more will notice that he is a very special person. Very polite, very loving, he represents high values, especially in the area of humanity. His family is everything to him. His family is absolutely adorable too. It is difficult to put into words. In an increasingly difficult time, in which humanity is falling by the wayside, he naturally appears as a good star in the sky that gives strength and hope. His real Dears see him as a role model and want to emulate him. I pray that he will keep his attitude and that, despite all the difficult times, he can continue on his special path. It is good for all of us to follow him.

You surmised the reason he didn't win pretty much exactly. BTW, the guy punching the air at the end is his dad. He'd flown in to surprise him, and Dimash had no idea he was there until he noticed him when he was taking his applause at the end. Apparently, Dimash has jokingly said he probably wouldn't have been as flirty if he'd known his dad was there.

Dimash is on another level and although he technically didn’t win the competition, and you’ve probably hit the nail on the head as to why because he’s a foreigner in a Chinese singing competition and isn’t allowed to take the top spot, he’s already won the world’s heart with his music which has been his primary goal. BRAZIL - Impressive how you managed to capture the essence, the personality of Dimash and what he means to all his fans around the world. He won over his fans primarily for his great vocal talent, but we noticed Dimash's great humility, respect, education towards fans, people in general around him and he hasn't changed anything until now, even with the worldwide fame he won. He brought again the value of the family, the union, the respect, solidarity and humility to the world. His fans are from 175 countries and go to his concerts, people of different languages, religions, in a place to see a great singer of great humility, he is very charismatic, always with words of support and positive.

The formal winner was a chinese girl (don't remember her name, is the one that sang together with Dimash the MJ Tribute), but he won the recognition of millions from the beginning with SOS. You should whatch beyond the end of Ópera 2, his face when he realizes his father was in the audience and they met. My suggestion is follow The Singer first, you may continue with Adagio, All by myself, show must go on, Autoumn strong (with the story behind the song, Gloria Wu version). Good luck! The winner was Sandy Lam. She's the woman who said "wow" at the end. She's a living legend in China. with a nearly 40-year career and over 30 stylistically diverse albums. She's brilliant and sadly retired last year. Most people who discovered Dimash via his performance on this show have no idea who Sandy Lam is and can sometimes get very rude and disrespectful about the fact that she won. I'm sure she and Dimash don't care one way or the other.

Sandy Lamm won the Singer competition. She is an established wonderful singer in China. Dimash was invited to participate after winning the Grand Prix in the Slavic Bazaar. From what I've read, they thought he might last a few rounds and be gone. The rules didn't allow for anyone not Chinese to win. Dimash's career on the world stage began as a result of his performances and he became the runner up. Sandy Lamm is an excellent singer and a big supporter of Dimash throughout the competition. She realized hiw uniquely talented he was. The following year, the rukes if the competition were changed. "Opera 2" was the 2nd song he performed. right after introducing himself with his performance of S.O.S. The contestants were to do covers of other artists was supposed to show what he was capable of doing. This song was wellkniwn by the Russian singer Vitas. Dimash went on to do covers by Lara Fabian (Adagio), Freddie Mercury (The Show Must Go On) and many other great songs and made them his own. I also feel that Dimash is a gift to all of us. He's helped me recover from Depression and I listen to him everyday. Music is medicine. Of course I enjoy it for its own sake too. Dimash takes me out of everything negative into a world of creativity, love, beauty and mutual respect. He sets a wonderful example of how to be a good person above all and then how to achieve your dreams. And yes, the "Dears" are a wonderful community. Welcome everyone ! Great reaction Soul.

It's wonderful to witness people discover Dimash for the first time. He really is a treasure. Pretty much anything you see of his is going to blow your mind. However, a couple of performances that stand out to me are Unforgettable Day (Gakku), Ogni Pietra (Olimpico), and Daybreak (Bastau). In the Gakku performance of Unforgettable Day, he hits his highest note, which is a couple of octaves higher than the highest note you've heard so far...a true whistle tone, a d8, no synth help at all. When I flew to New York for his concert I met many of his Dears...in the hotel or sightseeing there were no strangers. people saw our Dimash buttons etc and came up to us and conneceted!!! it was amazing..he is very availabable to his dears....instead of hiding his arrival at airports his people tell us and many meet him at the airport!!! he frequently then meets and shakes hands, posing for photos, takes flowers....he is a very caring human being. I am a 69 year old woman and have never let a day go by without listening to Dimash....usually at least 2 hours a day....every new song I hear is another surprise...even though you know he is that good!!! He was offered a job in his local opera house performing and turned it down. He wanted the flexibility to create his music palate- right move for him. His mom I believe is opera singer

A Chinese fan tried to explain why he did not win that made the most sense to me. Dimash was completely unknown prior the The Singer and it catapulted him ho stardom in China overnight but the winner was a bellowed singer for many decades and explained it that it was the same as when he would have competed in the US against Whitney Houston or Barbara Streisand, not to mention he was ill halfway through the show and it did affected his voice and his placement in that particular week was quite low. His Chinese fans love him - he was named the "The imported little brother" winning multiple awards over the years.

The winner in The Singer competition was a female singer who's been popular in Hong Kong and China for decades, and so she already has a strong fan base to begin with. Those circus peanuts are colourblind, unable to see Dimash' many colours; how he takes us on a - different - journey on his endless spectrum every single time; how he beautifully conveys different colours of substance (love, longing, playfulness, passion, desperation,...) through his technique and is able to make us _feel_ the song even if we don't understand the language he's singing in; how he not only brilliantly sings the song but also _incarnates_ it with his magnetic stage presence and hypnotising gestures - in short, how he fully uses his talent, expressing all his colours. We're so incredibly blessed that he gives all this to us. The colourblind circus peanuts ignore what they're missing. Poor souls.

Welcome DEAR❤️ and that wasn’t whistle, that’s his soprano register. His whistle is way above , believe it or not, by about two octaves!

Both of his parents are great musicians and they know exactly how this competitions work. His dad was actually there 6:40. They know that if you win this competitions you are tied to the producers for years. I believe they allowed him to compete with the agreement he wouldn't win. He does not want to be tied to big companies. His values are totally different from western's, he was in other competition and they did not tell him that he was going to compete with children and he remove himself from it because he say that was not fare to the kids.

Isn't it weird that not everyone feel wat we feel when listening to Dimash! And he is as good live. Been to three of his soloconcerts and would have been going to Germany this march. Sandy Lam won the competition that year. She has an AWESOME voice! As did ALL of his competitors, Lam, Terry Lin, LION, and the others. DIMASH, though, is on a level by himself and as far as I am concerned, should have won.
