Definitely "SOS" (the Slavic Bazaar version in 2018 posted on Dimash's official channel), which is his signature cover of a well-known French song. So much is clear: You have been dimashed. SOS d'un terrien en détresse, one of the most difficult contemporary songs to sing. There are two popular versions by Dimash (and some less viewed ones). • The first one is from a Chinese TV show called "I am a singer" in early 2017 where he was invited as a stranger among a number of well-known and seasoned Chinese vocalists, and the youngest singer to ever perform there (22). SOS was his first performance, and he had to sing first in the first episode. You can tell that he was nervous, but he put so much emotion into the performance that some in the audience actually started to cry. The low notes in that performance are not the strongest, but otherwise it is another astonishing performance. It marked the entrance of Dimash into the public light. • The other one is from an event called "Slavic Bazaar" in 2018. That performance is a bit less emotional, but the low notes are better developed, his voice has matured. However, the differences are only for Dimash experts. Dimash beginners won't notice them. Both versions are superb, maybe you watch both in one reaction. In the recommended videos on the right, I saw the title "Know". This is a more recent performance where you can see how much he has matured as an artist and how much his voice has improved. In that song he created a completely new singing style, blending the register flip technique you heard here with jazzy scat singing. It's amazing. One last recommendation: Stay away from videos that were released from the "World's Best" show. They hacked his performances to pieces to save time, they made him compete against children whereupon he quit the show. They didn't recognize him as the artist that he is but rather presented him as a circus act. These videos are truly hated by fans of Dimash.

@@bagzhansadvakassov1093 в свое время я обожала Алибека Днишева, гордилась им. Он был звездой Казахстана. Наверное, в оперных кругах других стран он тоже был известен. Кто спорит? Но он не собирал тысячные стадионы, не делал мировые туры, у него не было миллионной фан-базы в 140 странах мира. Под словами "первая мировая звезда и легенда" имеется в виду именно этот масштаб.

@@asia394 Зачем сравнивать таких замечательных певцов у них разное направление. А главное, они жили в разные эпохи. Кто бы позволил Днишеву выйти за пределы страны, это все решала Москва. Днишев это оперный певец, а опера это элитарный вид искусства, который в Америке знает только элита и их интеллигенция. Однозначно Димаш феномен, он результат сочетания многих удачных факторов природных, наследственных, традиционного казахского воспитания, огромного труда работы над собой в течение 20 лет. Благодаря независимости Казахстана, Димаш использовал весь свой потенциал и возможность выезжать в разные страны. К тому же эпоха интернета резко раздвинула рамки возможностей. Даже сейчас Димаш мало известен на западе, свидетельством является автор этого видео, который только сейчас, к своему изумлению, открыл для себя Димаша, а он по профессии имеет отношение к шоу биз. К большому счастью всех почитателей таланта Димаша, он свободен и перед ним открыт весь мир. Международные туры будут продолжаться после пандемии.

@@carmenrosado2023 I've seen quite a few people wonder the same thing (if Di is castrated). People just get thrown for a loop by his soprano register, and some people ask that question either jokingly or out of genuine curiosity/ignorance. It's not entirely unfounded, though- Castrati were a thing back when women weren't allowed in choirs. It's illegal in most (if not all) places now, but most people aren't aware of this.

Yes, for sure. Its bass is just as wonderful as its treble. If you had chemical castration to keep the treble, you would not turn the bass. In fact, he have technica, talent and the most beautiful and amazing voce in the world.

Dimash swims underwater every day to improve his breathing, he has a easy 6 octave range almost 7 !! He has been training for 20 years since he was 5 !! he has masters degrees in composition and contempory and operatic music !! Your reaction is about on par with most first time reactors !! The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. Love what you wrote! Just want to correct one thing. Dimash is not using Joqtaw singing here. What Dimash is doing here is caledl a "cords tremolo". This guy in this link explains it . ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5dK1CKdHM2E.html It's in spanish so you will have to auto-translate it to english. Joqtaw or Zhoktau are traditionally funeral laments by women. Indeed, if you look them up on youtube all you see is women offering a lament for someones passing. And none of them sound like what Dimash did here. Cords tremolo is a fluctuation in volume using quick manipulation of the diaphragm. People always say Dimash's breath control comes from swimming. His lung capacity is helped by his swimming. But his control comes from the diaphragm. Dimash has amazing control over his diaphragm. What he is doing here is not Vibrato (fluctuation between two notes) it's not Yodeling (a fluctuation between two notes farther apart on the scale) it's not a series of glottal stops (closing off the back of the throat). This is not Zhoktau as it doesn't resemble any of them and is done pretty much exclusively by women. This is Cords Tremolo (one note rapid volume manipulation using the Diaphragm). As far as this being a section dedicated to Batyrkhan...I'm not sure. Do you remember where that info came from or know where to find it? I just want to always double check source info if I haven't seen it myself. Your post was great. I'm just trying to clarify an issue. Hope you don't mind.

@@woronzof3909 No Igor Krutoy is the one running the event. New Wave is Krutoy's event. This particular night is a night completely dedicated to the band Studio-A and their 30 years of music. It was an Aniversary of sorts. The band that played with Dimash (Studio A) was on stage the whole night. There were something like 10 other singers that night and each of them sang a song that was an original song of Studio A. I watched all the performances and all of them were up beat pop songs. Only Dimash sang his song different. Sinful Passion was honestly a giant WOW compared to everything else performed. Igor Krutoy standing up at the end to give Dimash a standing ovation.... He didn't' do that for any other performer that night. And all those flowers Dimash got... no one else got a bunch of flowers like that. They got maybe one or two if they were lucky. Krutoy was so impressed by Dimash (He had only seen him perform one other time) that he invited him to his house the next month to go through Krutoys music.... the rest is history. But long story short... Sinful Passion belongs to Studio A.

Когда он увидел что у Димаша даже нет 1 миллиона подписчиков он был очень удивлен и огорчен, он считает что это не справедливо по отношению к Димашу. Хенде хох, мужик! Ты приплыл, как и все мы, к берегу Димашемании, и вряд ли кому бы то ни было удастся вырваться из этого плена. Мы стали жалкими, но счастливыми рабами божественного творения. Чтобы тебе и нам стало понятно, образно обрисую вокальные данные Димаша как я вижу. Представь себе арфу размером в один сантиметр, струны которой НИКОГДА не расстраиваются. Эти струны издают звуки под воздействием струй воздуха. А движение воздуха осуществляют тоже миниатюрные мехи органа, запрятанные Всевышним ни весь куда. Представил? После этого считать секунды пения на одном вздохе станет чисто спортивным занятием. Главное, нужно считать всё живущее человечество счасливчиками, коим судьба соблаговолила подарить шанс быть современниками Димаша и наслаждаться его творчеством.

Welcome to the miracle of Dimash. You have not heard anything yet. Yes that is his voice. The man can hit a solid D8 with vibrato. He is no doubt the best vocalist in the world. I totally agree. Dimash's talent is a gift to humanity and a planetary treasure. No one can compare at the moment with his perfect vocal techniques and breath control. That is why so many qualify him as otherworldly or alien because no one has ever heard anything like it in their lifetime. But besides the sheer talent, Dimash is also a wonderful human being (or alien) and is highly respected by all, as much as he respectful and considerate towards others. But that is another part of the story to tell.

Welcome on your journey discovering Dimash. You barely scratched the surface of what he is able to do with his voice you have seen maybe 5 % of it. This was my first song of Dimash too and i was hooked. Second was SOS and I fell in love with him. Now I’m totally addicted. See you at your next reaction in disbelief 😉

Dimash feels hurt each time he is designated as "alien." He is human, in an out. But this is what you get when you have an enormous natural talent and then 20+ years of incessant training, and you are a humble, friendly, considerate, God-loving person whose desire is to be not only the best singer but the best human.

Thank you for your reaction, and welcome to the World of Dimash! He isn't from area 51, but may have dropped in from another dimension to live in Kazakhstan. 😂 His voice is absolutely amazing, but he himself as a person is too. Even with his fame, he remains, humble, and grounded. Dimash has fans all over the world, and many of his Dears (what he calls his fans) travel all over the world to see him, myself included. The videos of him performing are exceptional, but hearing him live is ethereal. He has trained since he was 5, and is now 26. He has degrees in contemporary music, and classical music, and has just received his masters degree in composition. Stay safe and healthy! Blessing to you!

Pitch range, emotional range, dynamic range, stylistic range, there is nothing he can't do. Most of his songs climax at an E6. He's very comfortable throughout the 2d octave too. But yeah, the whistle goes way higher.

If you're wondering about his range, he's got 7 octaves from D1-D8. Started out as a soprano, as kids generally are, but managed to keep his soprano register all the way into adulthood partially through professional training and constant practice (he practices a minimum of 3 hrs a day, but sings even more on days he feels like doing so), but primarily through sheer luck of the genetic lottery. His voice is set up physically to allow for this massive range, which is very rare. Most people only get two to three octaves (I personally have two), and can expand their ranges by maybe a full octave (two, for those who are lucky). I'm honestly surprised his range is still growing. He's 26; I would expect his voice to have fully matured by now and be unable to expand much more...but it keeps expanding the older he gets. If he were a Castrato (which has been illegal for quite some time; the last known Castrato passed sometime in the '20s, if memory serves), there would be many signs- off the top of my head, his voice (speaking, as well as singing) would be higher than the average man's, he would be shorter than the average man (he is 6'3, though doesn't really look it until you see him standing next to other people), his face would be rounder, his fat would be distributed differently (somewhere between the typical male and typical female distribution, IIRC), his adam's apple would be less visible (or not visible at all), he would have less muscle mass (you obviously can't see it in this video, but there are photos where you can see the muscle in his arms), and he would be unable to grow full or any pubic hair (which includes a beard, which he absolutely can grow but chooses not to).

Congratulations, you've been Dimashified!! I so love watching people find Prince Dimash, Master of the Goosebumps. Yes, he's a man but not from this planet! His known live range is E1 to D8. Started opera training at 5, mom is an opera star in Kazakhstan, dad is a singer and musician, grandparents are musicians. He's said his vocal chords are larger than usual. Just got his master's degree in composition and is working on his Ph.D. Sings in 12 languages, plays 8 instruments. Yes, all of this is for real. And best of all, he's a true gentleman and very kind. I saw him live in concert in New York City in December and it was unreal, like being immersed in a warm glowing bath of emotion and joy. Enjoy the ride!
