This is the World Record Boss Time Attack run for Sonic 2 on the iOS/Android platform. Not a perfect run, time can be improved.
Played on iPhone 4S. I used Reflector to record the video and sound. Unfortunately, the sound lagged from the video, and lagged at variable speeds. So I had the wonderful job of individually editing the sound's tempo every 15 or so seconds for the entire video and figuring out how to fit it all back in place. It was a nightmare.

Tip: if you restart the zone in the middle of a bossfight (except in Emerald Hill) It will make you restart the current boss you was on without making you go back to the beginning

David Brailsford Egg gauntlet was an interesting idea for it, but the color scheme was rather dull after a while.

Fair play on this time. Not achievable on patched version as screen graphic frame is much slower, so just doesn't allow, only hinders. With the last boss you aren't able to get through both gates at the same time.

That score tally (Sonic got through Zone) was unused in the Genesis version, but it was intended for Sky Chase and Wing Fortress Zones

Yup, mostly positive from what I've experienced. Chemical Plant boss no longer comes in at the edge of the screen, to make it a bit harder to full combo to death. Aquatic Ruin boss has more space in between the two pillars, making it so that you can't spindash and hit when Robotnik is all the way on the other side. Can't spindash in oil, preventing the huge skips that were possible before (this one I kind of dislike).

Fun fact:shinshira actually has a chance of 80.53% Of the hack installed and prob got that time after 5-6 months of it being released in google play, since Sega detected cheats of it after 7 months of it released, Sega just put an anti-cheat in the game and up until now, Sega deleted that time attack as i tried to find it but couldn't find it

No, it is on the time attack only after you beat the game in some devices.

aquatic ruin's boss part is impossibile to beat in 16:9 widescreen because the distance to the arrow shooter things depend on the scale ratio of the screen so it is not possible to hit robotnik at the next side (here it is at 0:38 pretty biased if you ask me my phone is iphone 6+ and its wide screen.)☹️

My personal best is 4:32 but the leaderboards seem to always be unavailable. Anyone else getting this? Also, I’m not accusing anyone of cheating but the game has been modified to be more difficult since this was made making it impossible to beat. Aquatic Ruin boss can’t be reached with the spin dash attack as shown here... but I remember doing it in the original. Why change it?

A lot of luck, a little trial and error. Basically, you have to get the timing and height almost perfect. I had to try this like 50 times to get it right...for a while I could get it maybe 1/3 tries, but I tried it again recently and I'd pretty much have to relearn it again...

Actually...the whole video is an audio glitch! (Sort of...) The program I used to record this actually made the audio lag...so I basically made like 60 cuts to the audio and repositioned it at various parts in the video to make it sync back up again...must have accidentally layered two audio streams there.

Thats because the speed, rebound and timing sequences shown are ONLY achievable with either cheats or bots that are easily found and downloadable. Dont get overly frustrated.

@@johnsmith.5783 John is been so long I can’t remember Sky Chase but in Metropolis you can let him come lower immediately then let him hit you and you can get three hits in, much quicker. I’ll have a think about sky chase and get back to you

There’s an even faster way to do it. As sonic and tails you can just fly over the boss fight I manage to do it in all zones except chemical plant aquatic ruins casino night zone and metropolis Ask me and I will Tell you how to do it
