I once heard someone refer to the levels as just rehashes of previous level locations, and while that might be true for the flying fortress and death egg levels, I personally see them as creative fusions of levels. Sylvania castle being a mix of Aquatic Ruin and Marble garden, White park being Ice cap and Carnival night, Oil desert being Oil ocean and Sandopolis, and so on

My First ever sonic game it’s so amazing still holds up to this day don’t care how bad episode 1 is the boss fights in this game where a real challenge !!!!

This game was so underrated. It has a bad reputation due to Episode 1, but this game improves on lots of it. It’s could be much better in many ways, but it is in no way a horrible game.

This game has good soundtracks

I don't get why people hate this game. It's very well made, and the bosses are unique too!

Better than episode 1 but it is still infuriatingly difficult to gain and maintain any speed momentum with Sonic. As a HUGE Sonic fan these games ground my gears tbh.

Unpopular opinion: I like Sonic 4. It have some problems? Of course, but I like it anyway and I would like to play episode 3 with my man Knuckles.

I remember playing the free demo of this back on my moms Ipad. I would always dream of buying the full game since I loved those snow levels. They're so pretty.

when i was playing this game on my grandmas ipad I loved reading the instructions on how to play the game because it was very informative but now that its becoming newer my favorite stage to play in is white park acts 2 and 3

Sonic 4 is underrated imo. Yes I know it's not like the Genesis games like how Mania & even The Advance trilogy, but it's still a fun game and plays well. Though I would like to see The Mania Team remake Sonic 4 with The Retro Engine.

This was the very first sonic game I’ve ever played and was how I discovered this wonderful franchise, i first grew up with the LITE version with only 2 boring playable acts like geese it took that long for them until now to make the full game iOS version free?

The mobile version of the game contains animation errors in the special stage where sonic and tails hands don't sink up to what they're doing so it just looks like knuckle's arms lol

I have a lot of childhood nolstagic memories of this game I remember when I couldn't even pass the second world or zone but then one day I just suddenly had the ability to pass all the zones I don't even know how I passed oil desert zone act 1 it was incredibly difficult at the end NOW SKY FORTRESS WAS SOOOOOO INSANELY DIFFICULT 👁️👄👁️ act 1 and 3 and metal sonic gave me despair ▄█▀█● and a head ache but I destroyed them eventually now the death egg zone was just TRICKY BUT THE MUSIC WAS SO LEGENDARY AND AWESOME but I passed it anyways I probably DESTROYED THE EGG HEART ON MY THIRD TRY with no chaos Emeralds I destroyed the entire game and I decided after I beated the game I finally attempt my best to get all the 7 chaos emeralds I failed miserably the first 6 was okay but AS FOR THE 7TH ONE TO ME WAS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE I JUST HAD TO LOOK UP VIDEO'S OF HOW TO BEAT IT STILL I DIDN'T BEAT IT but I just kept pushing and pushing and then I FINALLY GOT 400 RINGS FOR THE SEVENTH CHAOS EMERALD AND GOT THE SUPER SONIC FANTASTIC!!!! 😎 and after that I had a INCREDIBLE time with the game now that I was super sonic and sonic 3 and knuckles and sonic 4 ep 1 special stages will forever be the most hardest out of 1 2 and ep 2 sonic 3 and knuckles will be impossible for me to complete as in the whole game the special stages are impossible too all the special stages are INSANE except for episode 2 that's why I hacked episode 1 with all chaos emeralds and awesome scores 🤘😝🤘and I'm never going to play sonic 1 2 and I can't even play 3 but 4 and ep 2 are amazing

If this game had a better soundtrack and was called "Modern Sonic the Hedgehog" instead of "Sonic 4" it would be better received
