Sonic Adventure 64 is one of the best games on the SEGA 64 and one of the most iconic games of all time. Too bad Super Mario had such a rough transition to 3D.
Yo! I am Yuyake also known as AngelicMiracles, and I am the voice for this Sonic! I wanted to go for a perfect blend of Martin Burke and Ryan Drummond's portrayals of Sonic! So glad everyone loves this mod!
That's what I always wantes from a 3D Sonic game. Fun and lovely. Not something fast paced that you just push forward and stumble on every single obstacle because you're going too fast. There could be fast paced stages, like some sort of race or time attack. But not the entire game.
No offense, but wanting a sonic game that isn’t fast paced doesn’t really make sense. Unless you’re only holding the boost button and letting the game play itself or something, you’re easily able to avoid “stumbling onto every obstacle because you’re going too fast” in 3D sonic games
@@InfernoboltI think he has a point though, I think games like Unleashed were maybe too fast in some segments, Adventures and Heroes felt like the right speed but we could use some Unleashed-like sections or movement options? 3D Sonic is hard to design but is fun to play
@@OhBlivEUn Maybe I’m just biased since I grew up with boost formula, but I can’t really think of a segment that’s too fast tbh. However, I do agree that the adventure games felt really good gameplay wise, and it could be a framework that a future game could build off of (I personally really dislike Heroes, but that’s unimportant ig lol). Personally, I think that if you have true Unleashed/Gens-style boost stages implemented in a way similar to the Cyber Space levels in Frontiers, you can have the still fast but not blisteringly so gameplay formula similar to something like SA1+2, but also have that imo satisfyingly fast boost formula gameplay as well
@@Infernobolt Exactly, I grew up with Adventure and N64 platformers but what makes Sonic special is the speed and sense of freedom and power. I feel like the sweetspot is in between Adventure/Heroes(the speed parts)/StH and Unleashed/Gens. I stopped playing after Gens, but Frontiers seemed prettt cool co conceptually. I bet Shadow Generations will be a nice treat for the time being.
Ive seen the sonic mod for mario 64 but never this. This is so cool. Anyone know if its console compatible? Id love to put it on my everdrive and pretend we got a sonic 64 in the 90s.
Hello the creator of the mod here. Unfortunately no, the original ROM hack ain't console compatible because it's an expanded ROM that could only run on emulators. The port I made isn't console compatible, and neither is the Sonic character mod. They're both Lua mods fer sm64ex-coop, and I cannot code in C, so I ain't plannin' on portin' that to decomp anytime soon.
Looks really nice. Now they just need to replace the coin sound effect from Super Mario 64 with the iconic sound effect that plays when Sonic collects rings.
I keep clicking this vids, thinking it won’t be a Mario 64 romhack. All I want is basically a demake port of sonic adventure on the n64. It’s all I want :(
Sonic Adventure 64 for the Sega 64 is genuinely the greatest 3d platformers of all time This game pioneered the idea of what it meant to be a 3d platformer
This looks so cool but it misses the obvious set up., SONIC 3D BLAST! That game is a collectation, but to see 3d blast in full 3d would have been so solid. They could have used the same textures or textures from sonic Jam. Hell sonic Jam would have worked too.
It all felt right until the hat. Surely it could be removed or at least shrunk, amd the Mario fade in texture xouls be replaces with a Sonic one. Or, heck set it where Sonic is hatless.
The real tragedy here is, your Intro reminded me of a Channel i hadn`t watched in a long Time and had the same tune... After this one i searched up his Channel to watch a new Video and found out the Channel got deleted :(
I get the feeling this is supposed to be some sort of cursed mish-mash of popular properties, but after years on the internet, just looks like a WIP for a pretty decent port to me.
Is SEGA went 3rd party before releasing the SEGA Saturn, making them focus on a 3d title for the Nintendo 64. Since Sonic Adventure is known to have started out as a Saturn game, in this timeline, they would've created it for the N64 instead, but since they would drop smaller projects (including but not limited to Sonic 3D Blast) to focus on this game, they would actually get to finish it for the N64 instead of having to make it for the Gamecube.
