I used to have Sonic Colors on the DS that I played on my 3DS. I think the game is OK… i’m not really a Sonic fan, i’m more of a Mario or Legend of Zelda fan. My favorite power up from Sonic Colors was the void power up because it’s OP and eats everything. I also loved the burst power up, because when you use it, it just vaporizes all the enemies on the screen when you fully charge it, also Sonic is on fire when he uses it and I like the laser power up because Sonic will turn into a laser and bounce off any surface for a short while at a diagonal angle which will probably make your eyes jump all over the screen just to track where Sonic is going and it might disorientate you but it’s funny to watch Sonic go crazy and bounce all over the screen and I think it also kills any enemies who get in the way. I also liked the bonus stages where you had to collect a certain number of either red blue or yellow balls and control Sonic with the touch screen. The boss fights aren’t that bad either. I loved the very final boss where you get to fight the mother wisp as Super Sonic. Also, you may hate me for saying this, but I actually did like the aquarium zone the most. My favorite part was probably just the music because it almost sounds relaxing, of course that was when Sonic isn’t too busy drowning. LOL!

It's pretty cool that they managed port some of the Color Powers from Sonic Colors into Sonic 1.I'm not sure how overpowered Void is in Sonic Colors since I haven't unlocked it yet. I only know it's in the game because I've seen it in the opening cimematic for the Ultimate version of Sonic Colors for Nintendo Switch

Fun fact: The red coins are called red star rings, they are also in sonic colors

btw, about Sonic Colors, there are technically three different versions of it now. There's the Wii version that is the one most Sonic fans who know about the game know it as, there's the DS version that plays more akin to Sonic Rush and has exclusive Wisps that is not present in the Wii version, and there's the Ultimate version for modern platforms such as the Switch, that is based on the Wii version but is broken, especially the Switch version, which people liked to heavily exaggerate how broken it is. It has some features not present in the Wii version, but lacks the DS exclusive content. Regardless of which version you may plan to play, don't go in expecting Super Sonic transformation for the final battle, you will be greatly disappointed at the end like I was. Sonic Colors was the first game I hear, that ditched the Super Transformation trend for the final boss of the game, that only truly saw a revival in Frontiers, and you get to do it multiple times in the game. Sonic Mania doesn't count, since that's a fanmade game SEGA had them release it as an official Sonic game, and not a Sonic game developed by more official sources.

In the Wii version or Sonic Colors Ultimate for Switch, Void is actually Frenzy. And it demolishes anything in its path and gets bigger!

hey btg you should try sonic mania it has more secrets and there is a rare chance that the check points have like a little effect where there is these little sparks that look like the effect with the invincabley and it goes in a circle and if you enter it you go to the blue sphere stage and there is those big rings like in sonic 1 but if you enter you have to catch a ufo with an emerald and the rings count as your time an celecting the blue spheres if you celect around 48 spheres you get speed theres march 1 2 3 and bounus and if you catch the ufo you get an emerald but each one gets harder and harder and you can play as sonic with an AI tails and you can play as just sonic tails and knuckles and there is a thing where can buy to play as mighty and ray and they all have super forms and theres new boss fights and the level i am in is press garden act 2 which it only has 2 apl (acts per level) so ya there is way more than i know so you should try it and i wonder if the rom hack sonic xl would look like as super sonic xl so you should try it its really fun

if you play Sonic Colors, DO NOT PLAY THE REMASTER. Play the Wii or DS version, but keep it in mind that they are entirely different despite the same plot, and the DS version has a True Final Boss.

I liked Sonic Colors personally but not everyone liked the game. But you should check it out to see how you like the game not sure if you want to play the newer version but might be better to try the original one that was on the Wii because the newer one was filled with glitches but might have been fixed.
