Forces is getting lots of Cool mods for the Sonic Hacking Contest. I included the Sonic Reimagined mod from yesterday at the end of the video, since I had some incorrect coloring. Colors have been corrected in this video. Enjoy. ;p
Too bad it's not possible to mod the Switch or PS4 for these mods, I'd pay whatever to play those myself. I mean I love Sonic games but they need a lot of improvement too.
Ok, I'm not gonna lie, I was sort of underwhelmed by the Green Hill and second stages changes, thinking that they felt a bit too slow and barely added any worth while changes. But once Sunset Heights showed up, I was blown away. THAT'S where this gets really good. Now I'm definitely going to check this out when I get a chance. Thanks for sharing Overtime!
Considering how Sonic Forces seems boring, these two mods including the one of yesterday are giving some fresh content. Basically, what Sonic Forces would have needed, more development time.
Sonic: *_"One of my favorite spots is all rui-"_* "Sand water falls are great! You can run on them and everything! _pick one sonic..._ In all honesty, I love how your going to do videos of sonic mods in the contest with antdude, blue vivacity, sonic central and others, gets me exited to see all the master mods people make!
Thanks for showcasing this. Though I want everyone to understand that the DLC project is aimed to make the game better or improved in any way, it’s a mod inspired by Unleashed DLC.
1:51 Espio: Always stay calm during battle. Don’t slip up, or it will be lights out. Rookie: *runs up a loop* Espio: Nice work! A fine display of skill. Me: But….all he did was run up a loop. He didn’t FIGHT any robots during that segment!
I honestly feel like that adding more obstacles won’t fix Forces’ level design. I think the best thing to do is either: A: Make an entirely new game B: Make entirely new levels and alter movement slightly
Glad I wasn’t the only one who thought this. The extra obstacles just kind of feel tacked on in most cases and it feels very lazy in my opinion and doesn’t deserve the “Improve nametag on it if thats the only change. Sunset Avenue and Arsenal Pyramid were the only levels where I actually somewhat enjoyed what they changed with the level.
I feel the latter mod (see the video description) does a better job of altering the stage length with obstacles and paths but I don't follow the modding scene, so it could be that Forces isn't the easiest game to mod. Sonic's not fun to control and the stages rely on a lot of automation to keep the characters moving, which I feel limits what can be done with the stage design. I do agree that remaking Forces from the ground up would be the best way to go because the story has potential (in stage design, setting and plot) but if you're going to those lengths, it'd have to be because you want to make a better Sonic Forces over your own Sonic story/game.
I really like the third level redesign, it adds more ways for you to chose the route you want. The fact that it leads up to a boss fight with fake Shadow, and now cool it is when you pass each other. Man this makes me want to play the game but then I remember that these aren't the real game.
I like the Arsenal Pyramid team-up between Sonic and Shadow. Shadow using the Wispons makes sense, and it’s got me imagining a game where Sonic uses them like he does in Colors alongside Shadow using them this way!
That New Project Of Sonic Forces By SHC2021 With The Presented By SEGA & Sonic Team Needs To Upload The Game & Update The Voice Actors Of Those Longer Levels
This is probably the best you can get with Force’s mechanics. The problem is that most of the game is just the phone game Temple Run. Which is ok, but it’s a phone game.
