Frontiers speedrun are getting so much fun, excited to see what ya'll find next The pinball skip really made me wonder if there could be a credits warp in this game like in 06 haha
@@Emerldd oh shit I didn't realise! And I don't mean "dead" as in no one will be playing it I mean at the rate people keep finding new tech the speedrun will be 5 minutes long aha
stuff like that makes me like how the boost works more in frontiers than previous games. its extra height lets you skip a larger variety of platforming and can save you like that.
So there IS a pinball skip? If the game didn't permanently despawn all the rails and such in Chaos Island so I can reach the damn Chaos Emeralds, I would take advantage of that to avoid pinball forever...
Im so glad we dont have to play it anymore. would have been a HUGE reset point in the run. but Chaos Island is becoming more and more difficult so im resetting there a lot already LOL
Yeah I’m sure I’ll have to change the title today or tomorrow once someone finds a new strat and beats my time but it’s def a solid run for a week in 😤
Theres a huge community for this game basically been playing nonstop since the game came out to try to make it faster :D so its not any one or even few people making the game a fast speedrun its like hundreds really

So I have a question I keep getting in the boss room but he won’t spawn even when I go to his spawn location I did it once an hour ago but I can’t get it anymore
still dont quite know. I think skipping the sheild surf is probably faster but im not fast at that strat yet! need to practice it more. Riding the sheild is just more consistent.
During the Knight fight i noticed you waiting around for the boss to lower his shield so i decided to see if there was a way around that since i had a save file right before the boss anyways. Apparently you can actually dodge behind the shield and just hurt him directly, similar to how Ninja's shield works. Not sure how useful this is anymore since people are discovering new things by the hour but hope it helps anyways
thank you! yeah we found a way to actually use that now! we do a cyloop in between him and his sheild and if you let go if the circle when he drops his sheild its the best way to fight him in first phase :D
believe it or not getting the speed upgrades from the Elder Koco just arent worth it since you need to sit there and level them up one at a time. Luckily for us Blue Boost makes it not really needed to level up speed since it already makes us so fast
might consider it but id rather wait until the route is more set in stone. one of the annoying things about speedrunning new games is tricks and routes change/get found everyday LOL but maybe in like a month or 2 🥳
To get that launch you have to Lock on to enemy > Dodge Roll > Stomp > Cancel Stomp with a tap of Boost (really frame tight) Use the Blue Emerald waypoint as a guide to know youre height. If youre 1800 or above you should have enough height to make it over the wall. Lower then 1800 you wont have enough height to clear the invisible wall
Oh and just to add another stupid thing about this game is you can’t quit out from cyberspace OR the tutorial unless you close the game which is cringe so I just didn’t wanna fully close and open the game 💀
How would you rank Frontiers so far compared to other Sonic games in terms of speedrunning? Do you think Frontiers will get really popular for speedrunning similar to the Adventure games? :D
Dude i LOVE this game. Ive only ran a few sonic games other then frontiers so its hard for me to say but i think its my 2nd favorite next to Sonic Adventure 2! might become my favorite one day but i gotta let the honeymoon phase ware off. Also yes this game is giga popular. to put it into perpective, the Froniters Speedrunning discord already has more members then the SADX Speedrunning discord and that community is pretty big

Think of your favourite game. Think of how many hours you've played it. I guarantee you that some speedrunners have you beat at least fivefold. They're just as "real" gamers as you, simply playing a game they love in a different way that they find more fun
the reason why stomp is mostly better is because its easier to stun lock them but theres a really hard strat you can do on wyvern to make it like ~10 seconds faster with cyclone kick. just didnt do it here. Might try it in the future tho!
