Playlist: • Sonic Frontiers Extend... ...your movements have to go baton in order to get an S rank. If this description seems strange, blame the Game Grumps.
Right? I feel like Tomoya Ohtani REALLY likes this track. Heck, it was the only Cyberspace track to an get orchestrated rendition too, so take that as you will. (I don't blame him if that's the case though, It's a certified bop.)
I hate how accurate this comment is. I can’t even count the number of times I’ve done just to get that S rank. This song is one of the reasons, no doubt. It’s too catchy.
It's the SECOND Cyberspace level in the entire game, it had NO reason to be so difficult to S-Rank. Harshest difficulty spike a Sonic game has ever had.
@@kiki88561i mean most 3d sonic games are kinda hand-holdy for the most part, so i can see it. but id argue the jump to eggman land and the end of unleashed is bigger, the level is crazy
@@jack-vr9oz Yeah... I agree. What about sonic 06 though? The mach speed sections, I think, are tougher than this stage on a blind playthrough. And most of the game has some annoying unexpected thing that's on somebody's list.
This music made that S rank worth grinding for. The level itself was designed excellently but that S rank was the most fun I've had trying to get. Great job on this level. I want more.
Ikr, I've only just completed the Kronos island and have moved onto the next island but so far this level was my favorite due to how hard it was to S rank it, the other stages are either too easy or too frustrating when going for the S rank. This stage also broke the typical rule of Sonic staged where the top platform is harder to stay on but slightly faster than the lower but easily platform, the lower platforms are both easier and faster and it took me forever to find that out. I really want to play that level again and clean up my time, it got like 53 seconds on that stage. Also it goes without saying but the music is a fucking bop.
I wouldn’t say excellently designed though. The difficulty was mainly due to Sonic having absolutely no speed in the air, tricking the players into thinking the faster pathway was the top one, when in reality the bottom one was better. I like this stage, but I think that difficulty shouldn’t come as a result of tricking player intuition as a result of Sonic controlling weirdly.
Its only good because its an incomplete copypaste of Windmill Isle 2 from Unleashed Outside of the Ctrl+V level design, Cyberspace is designed like ass
And one more thing I'd love to point out. This song also sounds like Delta Heavy's 'Ghost' song. (The music video for that song features Clippy travelling across the internet, for those who are interested to know.)
Can we just take a bit to thank the developers for not restarting the music whenever you choose to restart the level? It makes the visual of Sonic warping In through the rift/gateway again so much more clean in a way I don’t think I’ve seen before in Sonic games. It just lets me continue to enjoy the cyberspace music without hearing the same parts over and over and over like other difficult zones…(Scrap Brain’s and Eggmanland’s intro bits are seared into my mind to this day)
True sonic fans rejoiced at this mission being hard. Imagine, a level that pushed you to have Sonic-like reflexes and sharp precision at max speed the whole level, with no bs combat involved, just all speed. Almost as if you were in sonic's shoes
Legit after about 2 hrs of trying I got S. Hit that 00::55:00 on the dot while my friends screamed for Joy when it happened. Definitely one of the golden tracks for this game
Even as a long term sonic fan, I can confidently say that this is one of my favorite tracks from the entire catalogue of sonic games. So fast, so bright, so exhilarating.
can't believe Lyn from Persona 5 is now in a Sonic game vocalizing for music i lobe it hope the use her more when i first this song it gave me extreme Sonic R vibes
I got so upset at this and when I barely clutched it with my dad watching I literally was so happy I damn near cried. Ngl this single stage made me a god at every other Cyberspace level.
Just started Sonic Frontiers, and this is my fav song in the game! Song reminds me of Sonic CD or Sonic R music, it has the classic 90s singing style and vibe, but modernized, it's perfect for Sonic. Still haven't got the S rank on this level though, but was point 5 seconds away. I will get the S rank eventually though. But listening to this song over and over while going fast AF is worth doing the level over and over for that hard ass S rank! 🔥It's lowkey harder than Dark Souls for me, but I love it! Not a perfect Sonic game, but a huge step in the right direction. 👍
try S ranking all Action Challenges in story mode first. you'll get spin Dash which is usable in cyber space. if you use it right as you come off the loop-de-loop, you can basically cheese the rail section. also you can use it in other places in the stage with good timing. takes off about 3 seconds to 6 max
Divorced from context, this song makes me think of the Time Trial bonus levels from Mirrors Edge. Large structures made of cubes and digital apparitions floating within a crystal clear sky that only exist for the express purpose of letting you cut loose and push yourself along the razor's edge.
Cursed lyrics are one of the best things The Grumps do xD The last one I remember was when they played TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, with "We Ain't Kangaroos"
I dunno why, but this track already gives me a sense of nostalgia. In so little time I've already done things to essentially bolster my feelings towards this theme. Such as staring up at the stars with this in the background, or running a 5k, with this theme in the background, or just watching that peter griffon version early in the morning headed to work. Fun times.
lyrics: I'm flowing with time I'm flowing I'm flowing into the light I'm flowing with time I'm flowing I'm flowing into the light I'm flowing with time I'm flowing I'm flowing into the light I'm flowing with time I'm flowing I'm flowing into the light Disappear Disappearing Disappear Disappearing
We've all been programmed from previous Sonic games that taking the highest path is always the fastest and easiest only to get bamboozled on this one stage. lol
I think the main reason we find this level so hard to s rank is because over the years we as sonic fans have been conditioned to believe that the top path is always the fastest path it’s always been that way in all the boost sonic games but this level subverts that by making the low path the fastest
Honestly, the only reason I had trouble S Ranking this was because I kept dashing into those damn pillar things at the beginning while trying to hit the boost pads. Once you get past the enemies, though, everything else just falls into place. Song still slaps tho.
I never played Frontiers (no spoilers please), I thought that this was going to be actually Sky Sanctuary's music from S3K, just remixed, but since the game is said to take Classic zones (which happen to be the same ones as Generations, coincidence?) from Sonic's memories, it gives off the vibe of "What am I doing here? I'm supposed to be in a new place! But...I kind of do miss home." Also, since Sonic's getting older, naturally he'll reflect on his past memories (aka the Genesis days), therefore that could be why he's going through these places. Again, I never played the game yet, so just take this as a theory.
This level made destroyed my soul every time I reached the goal 1 second short of an S rank. But I do have to thank it for teaching my the ins and outs of Sonic's moveset because now every other level is a cakewalk.
Its like that level that you get close the first time then slowly and surely continue shaving off anothe rsecond and its ugh its hard to put into words
