The egg Dragoon is near perfect in its design, there's only one critical flaw with its design: who the intended pilot is

forces isn’t canon because it makes 0 sense and no one is in character. also it’s ass

I like to imagine this is the same machine from Sonic Unleashed. This was the real thing that Sonic was suppose to fight, but because of the Werehog, Eggman had to hastily redesign it to withstand a werehog, not a hedgehog; thus downgrading it to a prototype. In Generations timeline, Sonic never transforms into the werehog, and so the Egg Dragoon maintains it's true design, which also explains why it's harder to fight.

Small Teddy The only reason I have to disagree with this is cause Eggman himself calls the Unleashed version the original prototype-1, meaning that this version couldn't be the original design, this is the version made after his failed attempt with the first one, which he would of course make stronger. It had nothing to do with Sonic Werehog form as he already knew about the form and most likely made the Unleashed Egg Dragoon to counter it Not trying to argue or anything, just my opinion

@@narutoboy423 in professor pickles university in the bestiary it says eggman spent years mastering sonics techniques only for him to fight werehog sonic rather than normal sonic

I thought I was the only one, but there are two more players who think this boss should have been the final boss! Time Eater was frustrating :/

Egg Dragoon on main stage I can beat. Egg Dragoon on hard mode I can’t I tried. They put spikes to avoid when you get to the high ground.

When I fought him, back when the game first came out, it took me many attempts to beat him, for similar reasons to yours. You got lucky that you beat him in 2 attempts, because it took me many more attempts than just 2.
