@k1tty GutZ wait how.... This one is built differently... The other egg dargoon had more pipes and had literal wings of ice and the this one just has wings
You know what I like about this game? Instead of reusing the Nega Wisp again, they instead used the Egg Dragoon. Not only that, but they revised the boss fight to fit the daytime gameplay. That is how you repurpose a boss fight. NOT by making robots that act EXACTLY the same and just slapping a new name on it.
@@dotproduct335 I feel like Lost World's was pretty different in the 3ds version, but yeah the Wii U version was definitely just nega wisp clone as well as the Forces Death Egg Robot Phase 3
Eggman tries his hardest to go into the fall sections in order to prompt the last hit there, but i've had a few kills in a running section msyself as well.
I love how you have lives in this fight but if you die you restart the whole thing anyway. If you lose all your lives you restart the whole thing anyway.....like wtf
Yeah I kept getting reked by the homing rockets cause I had no idea what I was doing (When Omachao says to hit it’s body that’s when those thing start firing at you unless your on the rail)
I feel like the Unleashed version of the Egg Dragoon had a bit more charm to it than the Generations version, not saying it’s bad, but I prefer the Unleashed version imo.
Same. Now, I haven't played either version, but from videos, seeing how serious both Eggman and Sonic got in the Unleashed Dragoon fight was crazy, and I loved it.
Has anybody noticed how around 2:00 the musical score lines up perfectly with the gameplay and when Sonic ramps to the railings at 2:08, always gives me chills.
That's the type of action we need more of in his games. No more just boosting on a straight path, add some variety like taking different paths for example the grind rail.
Welp when eggman decided to do that in unleashed he kind of got thrown into an abyss but still Eggman in generations: time for a change of pace Sonic : ok. Guess you want to be thrown in an abyss again
From the start of this battle Eggman could have just killed sonic. Sonic was not aware and Eggman still missed him at 0:10 or was he bing a good sport by shooting a warning shot...
I think I can see why it's called the Dragoon now. The top part of the body dismounts from the bottom part and the two act as separate entities, albeit in coordination. Much like a real dragoon which can dismount their horse.
sonic games sure do have a knack for having the second to last boss be the hardest. take sonic colors and adventure 2 for example. this boss was way harder then the time eater for me.
Now I understand why they brought Egg Dragoon back in Forces...} It's simply one of the most intimidating, epic, and beautiful creations made by Dr. Eggman so far by the reasons seen in the video above.
(@@charmyzard ) The only problem is the Forces boss battle SUCKS. When you compare all the Egg Dragoon battles, it's always epic and great, except in Forces where you have Classic Sonic beating the Egg Dragoon with ROCKS!
Despite the lack of dialogue, you can still feel the kind of urgency that this had and unleashed, eggman is definitely a lot more aggressive with his attacks than usual and Sonic is literally ripping him apart at every single possible opportunity, attacking parts of his body systematically. It lends well to the fight in game play as well, giving you tons of interesting ways to approach the attacks and close in for the hit. Are you going to boost your way forwards and hit him while he's in the stomach section? Charge him down on the railings and hit the cockpit? Wait for the freeze attack? It's all up to you, and this sort of freedom is what Sonic is All about and I want to see more fights designed like this, rather than just fights where the only thing that you do is beat up on the head with the same animation.
0:30 Just think that this could be the actual complete Egg Dragoon had Eggman finished building it from Unleashed. In that game, the boss Sonic fought was just a prototype of the complete robot. This version looks more what detailed than the one in Unleashed; it has more wings and even a tail. I think this is the Egg Dragoon if it had fully harnessed Dark Gaia’s energy.
To add more in-depth with those details; Unleashed Egg Dragoon was designed to be invincible to regular Sonic's attacks (boost and homing attack). However, Eggman did not anticipate that he would fight against Werehog Sonic and not regular Sonic, making his plan backfired on him because the robot wasn't designed to be invincible against the Werehog. Now with Generations, remembering his words from Unleashed to create a Prototype 2, he tinkered and modified the machine drastically to be an improvement over the Prototype 1. Eggman remembered the moment between his fight against the Werehog, thinking that Sonic will turn into that form again for this fight, but the opposite happens; the Generations Egg Dragoon is now modified to be invincible to Werehog Sonic, but vulnerable to regular Sonic (Modern Sonic, in this case) considering that Sonic doesn't turn into the Werehog in Generations. In a gameplay standpoint, it makes sense because there is no Werehog, but if you think about it lore-wise, Modern Sonic is no longer affected by the moon and Dark Gaia since he grew up from his Unleashed counterpart (timestamp from 2008 to 2011), he still retains his regular form.
I surprisingly beated this first try, and this is my second Sonic game that I played fully. After beating this I thought that people believed that it was easy too, but it was the opposite.
They probably thought you meant egg dragoon from sonic unleashed since that was the first appearance of the egg dragoon and it wad hard but this one from generations isnt that hard
The only problem with Forces' Egg Dragoon was the fact that, to beat it, you only throw ROCKS at it from the distance, instead of having it chasing Classic Sonic all over the damm place, and as we all know, the song in Forces is AWESOMELY underwhelming when compared to the one from Generations or even from Unleashed. But yeah, I would still consider bringing it back for future games along with Big Arms from S3&K.
Ok so 3 years later I got into sonic games but I still think egg dragoon probably has the best mech design in the whole series, second being metal sonic
Mikey Wolfblade Same happens to me, press the A (Xbox) X (Ps4) slightly instead of holding the jump button. You must have been doing a big jump which throws you off the rail.
*You know what they say! DA MOAR DA MERRIORE!!* *TIME FOR A CHANGE OF PACE* *PREPARE TO BE SKEWERED* *GET READY TO BE SCHOOLED* *YOU’RE GOING TO PAY FOR THIS*
Y'know, I wonder how difficult this boss would be for Classic Sonic Im thinking that it would MUCH, *MUCH* more difficult compared to the Modern fight, since its well.. classic.
I honestly liked the sonic unleashed egg dragoon, the music was more fitting, it was slower with the werehog, and i liked the gameplay more then the generations one
The only thing I don't like about generations is Sonic doesn't trash talk his opponent during the bosses during gameplay or even have an opening/victory line at least.
It's because the game intended you to beat him during the falling sections, but because he was too slow to have the final hit during that section, the animation played instead during normal gameplay
Can anyone agree with me in saying that Egg Dragoon was more fun and intimidating in this fight than in Unleashed? There’s just more to an Eggman mech fight when you run around them in at high speeds.
