Sonic Mania PLUS - Super Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Mighty & Ray Vs Final Boss DR Eggman & Phantom King 

I just noticed the timer is out of whack! Great attention to detail of the Phantom Ruby's powers and how it distorts reality!

Unlike Super Sonic, Super Tails & Super Knuckles are flying, Super Mighty & Super Ray are running in the air.

Just because not enough people seem to understand that Mighty and Ray aren't intended to fight this boss to begin with: In this boss fight, all playable characters use their default run animations when flying. Super Sonic's running animation is just him flying anyway because Super Sonic uses a different set of sprites than that of ordinary Sonic. Knuckles can fight this boss by completing a Knuckles & Knuckles no-save file with all Chaos Emeralds. Tails _looks_ correct because his run animation just so happens to be him (kinda) flying. So, while not intentional, it sorta just works. As for why Mighty and Ray just run on the air while Knuckles actually glides: The only two characters that can legitimately get to this boss are Sonic & Knuckles. The developers coded Knuckles as a special case for this boss because they intended for it to be seen by the player without the need for debug mode or the developer menu, hence why he uses his gliding animation instead. Ray and Mighty don't have that because there _is_ no way to get them there without debug or dev menu, so they just use the default case, which is their running animation. The reason they are included in the video is because the uploader used debug mode or the dev menu to go directly to Egg Reverie Zone while having them selected. tl;dr: If character = Knuckles: Use glide animation. If character ≠ Knuckles: Use run animation.

For those that are defend the running animation for Ray and Mighty: While they aren't intended to be in the fight, when Plus came out, a patch gave us a bunch of cheat codes to use in Sonic Mania. These cheats basically that were mods that even the most basic PC player for Sonic Mania downloaded, such as Max Out Sonic, turning off the Super theme, and most importantly: gives every person in Super form the ability to fly like in the ERZ. Therefore, I argue that it is indeed lazy to not give at least Ray his own flying stance.

I managed to break the floating script in this fight, I wasn't able to fly and dash at the enemy unless he knocked me into the air, but back on the ground it was broken again. Therefore I placed the monitors that give you another character in Encore mode and broke it. It gave me a random character and the damage was done, yay.

Super Ray could've at least used his gliding sprite.
