Sonic Mania - Super Sonic, Super Tails & Super Knuckles Vs Final Boss Egg Reverie & Phantom King! 

There are some boss in the sonic universe who can do that is just that not alot of thing is stronger than super form to hurt it.

Malcolm Fitzpatrick Even rarer to see something that's even stronger than Super Sonic. I think its safe to say that if you take game mechanics out of this, this fight pushed Super Sonic to his absolute limit

I thought the majority of 3D Sonic final bosses could do that though, like Chaos or Finalhazard.

garvensman Nope, you can get hit by them but you won't take damage. Bosses like Solaris and Dark Gaia have hurt Super Sonic though.

Yeah, you're right, I've been hitting my memory banks and they definitely only slowed you down, didn't take extra rings from you, but yes, there definitely have been enemies that hurt Super Sonic before.

Knuckles' ending after beating this boss is actually different.

segafan13 true, but he used the Super emeralds to transform in that game, in mania he's using the chaos emeralds. That might be the reason there's no flickies

Well the gem doesn't become Infinite as much as the gem is what gives him his power. This isn't Steven Universe

Gerald Spears You can't say that, until the game has actually been released. After all, the only things we know so far, about infinite, is that he's a manifestation of the geme itself, that he can use the gem's powers of warping time and space (probably the reason why Chaos, Shadow and Zavok are now, all working for Eggman) and that the avatar has a link with Infinite, himself (and thus, by extension, the Phantom Ruby from this game). Something I'd like to point out: Infinite's theme song states that he met Sonic, before, be it he's an actual characrer Sonic knew beforehand, or even someone new; if it's the case of the latter character, him being the manifestation of the gem itself, could be a plausible answer.

KarjamP The fact that Infinite can even harm Super Sonic means that in the final fight against him, he's gonna have to go beyond. And now I can imagine a cutscene where Super Sonic powers up to go either Hyper, Dark Spine, or Dark Super while Wrapped in Black plays in the background

He used the debug level select menu to access the true final boss as Tails and Knuckles. There is no other way to do this as Tails or Knuckles

it is so weird that you can do that and still get the good ending for your character

Gerald Spears There is a way to do this as Knuckles semi-legit. Beat the normal final boss in & Knuckles Mode while playing as Knuckles, with all seven Chaos Emeralds acquired.

I thought it was fairly challenging, but it only took me about 3 tries to beat it. I still think it's a pretty epic final boss fight, and it felt tense, so that's what matters.

It's a Challange given the fact that you have to avoid the Emperors Projectiles

The Hardboiled King is pretty hard. Unlike eggman, he is surrounded on all sides and is pretty hard to hit, and his shots can knock rings out of you. Plus he recharges the second his last shot is fired, and he fires them pretty rapidly. And the damage knocks you back enough that you can't even manage to hit him in time

It's SUPER easy. You can make it hard by choosing to stay airborn for the whole fight, but if you stay on the ground with flight deactivated then it's a total breeze. You just gotta bop the Heavy King until you manage to his him and not one of his energy orbs, then he switches places with Eggman, who's even easiler. You just wait for him to stop attacking and he's wide open, he can't even damage you. If you don't waste rings by using the dash attack then you can almost do the entire fight without even collecting extra rings. It's honestly a bit of a let down considering the extra mile you go to even get to the fight.

JMotion not really. I'd even argue that the doomsday zone is easier than this fight. At least in that one there's no real way for you to lose rings when you get hit unlike this one. I'd also even argue that it's much harder to get that final boss than this one. They're both epic, neither are let downs, however.

Starscream91 no, if he can manage to get all of the emeralds on the first playthrough thats actually pretty damn good. He didn't have to use level select and continuously go to green hill over and over to get the emeralds the easy way

And if anything based on what you just said yoy got the emeralds with level select, making you the noob(and even me because i had to use level select)

PINGAS MAN I was thinking it could be an Extra Mode like in Kirby, where everything is way harder, but you have all three characters on screen at once and can switch between which one you’re controlling with Up + Y/Triangle/Q/X

megaman 2407 dont lie. Sonic 3 and Knuckles is not archie. Thats an actual game. Making it just as canon. Besides you need super emeralds in order to get hyper knux and super tails. As well as hyper sonic.

Those transformations happened when they collected the Super emeralds, not the chaos emeralds. In this case its Super Tails and Super Knuckles Thats why you cant play as Turbo tails in sonic 3, instead you would get a glitch sprite because they didn't intend for you to play as a character thats not in the game. Also *Note how i said Sonic 3, not Sonic 3 & Knuckles*

You can go back and replay stages and collect the emeralds after you unlock level select. Of course you need to know where the special stage rings are

There is no hyper tails. There was only ever a super Tails which used the power of the super emeralds.

guy the only reason he turned super with super emerald was because he was kid/weak now he is strong so the old transformation is hyper

Playing the final boss as Tails is fake because you have to use cheats to play it. This means that super tails without super emeralds is fake. EDIT: nvm I didn't know he was in the game normally.
