This was easily my favorite boss fight in Sonic Rush for the Nintendo DS, that sweet fight with Blaze (or Sonic if playing as Blaze) #SonicRush #Blaze #HaveANiceFallUSB
Daiquiri I did that when I first got the game and didn’t have the finger strength to do it. Now when I play it again I finish it real quick without doing that.
this is a comment chain of all the people who shared my pain. She'd launch me to my death so many times, I remember staying up all nights just trying to beat her, even used both thumbs to try and win. But my Blaze was something else. Even with that I still lost! Like I was mashing as fast as I could get about a quarter way to shoving her off and she'd just push me back to a quarter and a half to launching me off. Like Geez Blaze please. I admit I respected her for beating me so many times. Few people can do that. When I finally beat her though, ooooh the sweet satisfaction. Fighting sonic on this level was easy Ironically when switched =_= Except for those dagone tornadoes. Just as bad as Blazes fire pillars in the beginning of the fight.
@@hueyo5317 Cream literally does the same thing if Blaze beats Sonic like Sonic never meant anything to her even tho Sonic saved her and her mom. Hell Blaze literally beats the shit outta Knuckles and buries her deep into a crevice and Cream doesn't defend Knuckles or even really care about him she just dismisses it saying "kNucKleS juSt gOt tHE wRonG iDEA"
I had 1 life left and no rings, and I was at the boost part, can you imagine how epic that is? Sonic and blaze were both at crippling health basically (sonic having no rings left and blaze having 1 bar)
Sonic: "Ah? You're approaching me? Instead of teaming up with me to beat up both Eggmans, and make your work easier, you come straight to me?" Blaze: "I can't beat the shit out of you for getting in my way without getting closer" Sonic: "I'm not sure about this, but come as close as you want" *A B buton spamming*
What I see in my head: Sonic: This time imma let it all come out! Blaze: This time imma stand up and shout! Sonic and Blaze: IMMA DO THINGS MY WAY, IT’S MY WAY! Blaze got ejected Blaze: My way or the hiiiiiiiiighwaaaaaaay! Aaaaah!
@donathan2933 well he didn't have a boss fight in the original sonic 3 so stop trying to be elitist especially if u don't even know what you're talking about
The mashing part is so nostalgic. I used to replay this fight over and over as a kid because I thought it was the coolest thing. I especially liked seeing how far I could get the camera to go on Blaze’s side before I lost
You're a six-year-old child on an evil scientist's space station and two of your older friends are literally throwing themselves at each other at mind-numbing speeds with fire and tornadoes. Are you going to jump in the middle of that, or are you going to stay at a safe distance and let them figure it out like grown-ups?
@@ScoutNess Best I got there is gameplay not always aligning with story there. Say "you did it" in the results, call out for Blaze in concern and run for her side in the cutscene, and that's before getting kidnapped between then and the next.
Besides, haven't you ever chanted "fight, fight, fight" knowing well one of your two friends would get hurt in the process? The moment can be a powerful thing on its own.
This battle manages to be way more exciting and epic then most battles of older games against other characters. I wish there was a way you could fight Shadow, Knuckles, or any of those, but with the style of this one. Imagine Shadow rising in the air like Blaze, and launching Chaos Spears against you. Or Knuckles homing punching you, or shattering the ground or something to damage you. I need more of this.
Honestly, I like that this video isn't a no-damage run. Sonic and Blaze are basically alternate versions of each other, a fight should feel like it can go either way
1:35 I was gonna make a joke along the lines of "You might know everything I'm going to do..." but the bitrate just _immediately_ shitting the bed was too funny XD
I remember doing this fight in the middle of a clinic waiting room, and when I got to the button mashing part, my prepubescent fingers couldn't mash fast enough so I would rub my finger forcibly back and forth across the buttons and eventually won, however my finger was pretty fucking raw and possibly was bleeding so we had to patch it in the doctor's office.
I remember when I was younger I never could mash fast enough to beat blaze but when I was about to lose I COULD mash just fast enough to not die so this one time the mashing sequence just went for almost two minutes and it was just a crazy day when I beat that level.
I think this battle was the most iconic for the sonic ds line of games cuz of the immense amount button mashing we had to do. I mean fr, my ds could’ve easily caught fire from the amount of friction i was causing mashing those buttons 😂
1:35 Oh... god... I distinctly remember the pain and determination to be so forcibly agonizing that I screamed like I was trying to go super saiyan in order to beat it! Thank christ I was only like 10 years old at the time! NOT my proudest moment!
The fact that this is a time trial and not the actual battle means that this lad is basically saying, "Yeah, I'll try to kill this character in as little time as possible."
The funny thing, is I made the mashing sequence longer in honor of how hard it was for everyone else back in the day... I'm usually done that way sooner, lol.
@@LegendarySuperMario Oh really? I didn't know you were the button mashing king. /s For real though, my friend had to do this part for me: my 7 year old hands were just not strong enough.
I always believed that Blaze actually won this fight. Making her one of the very few rivals I think won/could win against Sonic ( at least base form Sonic). My reasoning for Blaze winning is because the dialogue feels so much more natural in her version. And what she says actually gives Sonic a reason to say "she had a rough past". Also you NEED to defeat Sonic in order to get the last sol emerald, unlike how Sonic gets chaos emeralds in the special stages. ( and you need to both to get the true ending, so I strongly believe Blaze actually won). Which is super impressive considering how Sonic has main character syndrome and rarely loses if ever.
Hearing this without sonic saying the b word and blaze scream doesnt feel right anymore I genuinely thought the scream was something actually added to the game
