9:48 sonic in that brazilian commercial is voiced by tata guarneri who later voiced eggman in the live action movies, fun fact tata also voiced sonic in some cartoons almost simultaneously with manolo rey
It is indeed an earlier title screen for Sonic 2 though we haven't found any prototype featuring the animation they do before popping up of the logo. On an unrelated note, i think it's pretty cool that they kept the "His name is Sonic" on the Icon they pop out of as a reference to Sonic 1 concept art
3:47 This commercial might've actually aired in Australia and New Zealand, based on a Twitter post from Sonic the Wereblog about the commercial and one reply to the same post from a guy who remembers the commercial airing in New Zealand.
happy 30th anniversary sonic the hedgehog 2!!! :3 the introduction of tails my favorite sonic character, underdog in gaming(alongside shingo yabuki, sakura kasugano whose story reminds me a lot of and luigi.) & sega character(along with sakura from sakura wars, nights & especially bayonetta.:3).
10:37 Did you know: On the back or side of tails' head, there used be this little orange hair fluff thing there. But in his newer designs, they got rid of it.
Curiosities The guy who voiced Sonic in this commercial never voiced Mickey, but he already voiced Goofy , and he already voiced Robotnik from Sonic's live action movie , and he was considered by many to be sonic's second brazilian voice actor
I HATED it when they would do that. So misleading! Yet so nostalgic LOL. I remember seeing the Sonic 3 Tiger Hand Held advertised in a paper catalogue back in the day and the screen showed a black & white version of what I THINK was Marble Garden Zone. I found it again on Google a few years ago. False advertisement indeed. XD
1:51 Teslas that can watch Netflix be like 1:55 Someone obviously must've hijacked this one though 5:38 2 awesome idea NOT to use for a sequel to something 9:46 The intro screen is from the 16-bit version but the actual gameplay is from the 8-bit version lmao
Awesome commercial, but Sega tried so hard to be better than SNES but still failed miserably. Sega might have blast processing, but it lost so bad to Nintendo with colors, gameplay, controls, sound quality, amount of actual good games etc. Gunstar heroes, Castlevania bloodlines and Sonic 2 and 3 were the only good games on Sega what comes to sound, controls and gameplay.
Did you know that for the Japan sonic 2 ads the emerald hill zone sonic and tails are running on is an actual model there is an image of the set i saw it the the how sonic 2 was made video
Sega was damn near a Nintendo IP by PS2. Back in the day the games were basically Gamecube exclusives, with the occasional scraps fed to Sony and Microsoft. Nowadays they're a free agent, releasing games like Mania on all platforms.
@@Potato946 Yeah, it's that commercial where he says "Hey kid, what are you doing watching this steeyupid movie?" in a voice that sounds like he's been chainsmoking cigarettes in between shots of helium.
I wonder if he'll bundle CD, Chaos, and Spinball all into one since they all came out around the same time. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure CD only had a Japanese ad.
