I asked my grandson what kind of cake he wanted for his 6th birthday, thinking he'd say something like strawberry or chocolate. He said, " I want a Sonic cake." Wait, what! Ok, I'll try.

Love this; you did an amazing job! My husband and I have made Elmo and Spongebob cakes in a similar way in the past. Your son is so lucky to have such a thoughtful, creative, artistic, crafty mom. Nicely engineered. That extra cake would be great for some cake pops! I would do a terrible job trying to draw the faces haha We seriously need to try your vanilla cake.

In fact, I usually don't attempt to do cakes like this without a mold but I couldn't find one for Sonic so I just did my own thing and thankfully it turned out OK!
